I've been living in Lancaster for a decade and I was always curious about this place. I love gambling, so on my way back from Vegas yesterday, I decided to exit Ave A. I was borderline mortified because I didn't know what I would be walking into, but surprisingly, it was a very clean establishment. They only have poker and blackjack tables, no slot machines, which is a bummer. I was with my mom and grandma at the time, so we decided to eat at the restaurant connected to the casino. It was very clean and the restaurant was half full. Our waitress said that if we had come an hour later, the restaurant would've been packed. They have daily specials and a pretty big menu for a small place. I got the sirloin steak dinner special, which was $15.95 for a 10oz. sirloin steak, choice of vegetable and choice of potato. After living here most of my life I've finally given into all the rave of the restaurant food. I've never dreamed of going to a casino to eat but I'm so glad I gave it a try. It's nice and clean and surprisingly pretty empty. We tried the fish and chips, Cajun pasta with shrimp and chicken Parmesan. Everything was cooked to perfection. The food was fabulous and the prices are great- not to mention portions are generous. We also tried the cheesecake with strawberry compote for dessert. The chicken fried steak was one of the best I've ever tasted, and although the strawberry pancakes were a little bit burned, they were good too. EVERYTHING we have ordered is so good. Hubby & I love the signature specialty' burgers. We order them with onion rings. We also like the orange chicken a lot. According to the waitress the orange chicken is super popular. I like the salads, there's always enough for leftovers, so ask for the dressing on the side. Wednesday nights they offer a steak dinner at a GREAT price. Service isn't very quick, as a matter of fact often times we go unnoticed when we arrive. It has been over 6 years so I decided to do an update. This is a fantastic place to ear. The restaurant is now called The Turf Club. There are horse races on the TV and horse pictures around. They have added many new hamburgers with the names following an equine theme. They still have all the regular fare. They offer pizzas, burgers, Italian food, Oriental food, Mexican, standard diner fare and the BEST fish and chips. The waitresses are friendly. Ok so this place has changed for good in some ways. The place was outside and actually is a lot more fun. I decided to come back and have been for the past month or so. Staff is same and new but always friendly. They new dealers are awesome and the old school ones are still here and fun to be with.
