(Upon Googling it actually was closed at 9 but the particulars are less important than the general sense of chaos.) Joy House and Dunkin Donuts were my only options if I didn't want to get home at 2:30AM. Even though Joy House wasn't my dream destination, I'm glad I checked it out. How seriously do they take the ribs? They hand out plastic gloves. There was a sauce aplenty but the preparation maintained the fibrous integrity of the meat. The respectably spicy sauce on the kung po shrimp was an effective cure for my cold, at least momentarily, although I would have liked to swap out some of the peanuts for more vegetables.

I was very impressed with the All you can eat option at Mizu 36…read more The restaurant is spotless and there is plenty of parking. First, I love this option when they allow you to order what you want rather than choosing from premade sushi that every diner breathes on. The sushi was excellent, very fresh and prepared nicely although they are heavy handed on the rice and the avocados weren't quite ripe. The spicy tuna and spicy salmon were made well with crunch as ordered. I was especially impressed with their prepared food, the gyoza, shumai, lo mein, teriyaki steak, and fried rice were all top of the line Asian restaurant quality. If ordering the teriyaki I would recommend the sauce on the side as it overpowered the beef. Service was fine, it was a slow rainy night and the food came out quickly. The restaurant is decorated nicely and is BYOB. One star off....soft drinks and ice cream not included...for $37 I think they should include it. The suggested tip calculation is based on food and tax which is not right either.... I tip 20 percent regardless but you shouldn't suggest that I tip on tax. I will go back as the food was terrific.

I ordered ayce and they left out some of my orders couple of times so I had to keep on reminding them about them. You can just tell that they were poorly trained. I would never go back especially for sushi. Sushi restaurants should be extra clean and on point in my honest opinion.

Your average "Americanized" Chinese restaurant, really…read more The food here is exactly that - average, if not slightly below. Avoid most of the fried dishes, they don't do a very good job draining the food before boxing it, resulting in extremely greasy lunches - which says a lot, considering Chinese food is often quite greasy to begin with. The fried rice is pretty decent here, and the prices are hard to beat at around 5.35 for a lunch special (at the time of this writing). The hot and sour soup, one of my favorite soups, would actually be OK as well, if not for - you guessed it - pools of grease on top of it. Honestly, this place would be a solid 3 stars if not for the damn grease, since the food itself tastes as good as any of the other 5 million generic Chinese restaurants in the area. Aside from the mediocre food, the restaurant itself is really quirky. There's only 1-2 tables to sit at, with the rest of the front end being taken up by boxes of random junk for sale. It's like walking into a dollar store that serves food - anything from scarves, hats, batteries, bras, sunglasses, and other totally random knick-knacks can be found for sale in the front. It's... really odd. All that being said, I find myself eating here more often than I'd like, if only because it's down the street from where I work. If not for how close it was, I'd probably not bother coming back.

Avoid this place at all costs--there are far better options to eat elsewhere…read more From the start, things went downhill. We were handed plastic utensils for unknown reasons, but we let that slide. Regarding drinks, we were instructed to serve ourselves behind the register. As for the food, it was practically thrown onto the table. When we asked for dipping sauce, that too was carelessly tossed, with half of it spilling on the way. What upset me was the handling of the bill. When it was brought to me, I handed over my credit card, and it was taken quickly--no issue there. But when I received my receipt to sign, there was a section with four tip options (18%, 20%, 22%, or 25%). I asked the waiter for the original receipt to check if the 18% tip had already been included. He hesitated, mumbled something, and disappeared for a solid five minutes. I had to ask the person behind the register to bring me the original receipt before signing. Finally, the waiter returned with the receipt and a flimsy excuse, saying the tip had already been added and there was no need to tip again. This shady practice is unacceptable. The food was far from what it used to be, the service was practically non-existent, and this is the worst kosher restaurant we've been to in a long time. Anything in the area, of Deal and Long Branch is a better choice than this place. Just don't even bother here in my humble opinion. I don't normally write such reviews, but this left a bad taste in my mouth. To the owner: Unfortunately, your restaurant leaves much to be desired.
