After 5 years going here and being very satisfied, we recently arrived for our appointment (scheduled 8 days earlier by phone with the owner) to discover he had no record of our appointment. While we understand that mistakes can be made, the fact that only vague apologies were made and no attempt to reschedule us or offer us some small compensation for the inconvenience forces us (sadly) to seek another establishment for our future business. read more

Went in for a pedicure. Left with my nails hurting because they were sanded so much, a cut on one toe and a terrible paint job. The first paint job was so bad she had to sand it off and start again. An hour and a half later I paid $65 for a bad job, a waste of time and didn't even get the full pedicure massage, lotion, etc because the painting had taken so long. I have been here before and had a decent experience but I went tonight for a pedicure and I left feeling much worse than when I arrived. Everyone working there this eve was in a really bad mood. I was the last customer of the day and they acted like I was a total annoyance. And I don't mean to brag, but I am very nice, easy going, kind person. I am never rude to people. The woman giving me my pedicure was cold as ice and had angry energy. I tried to ask her questions and be sweet but she was not having any of it. She seemed livid that she had to do the pedicure. The water was scalding hot for my feet! The owner/manager was vacuuming the rugs near my chair while I was getting my pedicure. The high pitch of the vaccine cleaner was so harsh! Then he started shutting all the blinds and cleaning and had his coat on before I was even drying my feet. I felt totally rushed and in the way. After I paid, I asked the woman who took my card if I had done something wrong because everyone in the store seemed so angry. She seemed surprised. If they don't want to work out 6pm, then don't take customers after that time. Anyway, it was a huge bummer. read more

I feel like I'm walking on a cloud after Kathy took her skills to my feet. They're shining like mirrors, as do my wife's. So much nicer and upscale than Lucky Nails across the street in the Kmart Plaza. This is set back near the Meat Market and Haven. Calm, soothing and like the other local places a whopping 40 bucks for a mani- pedi !!! Yet people were waiting , despite this steep price. My daughter felt that the gentleman took his time and did a very nice job. Shortly after a 2 nails needed a touch up and he had them fixed in a very timely manner. First time in my life I have ever had a manicure and then gone home and frantically searched for anything to cut and file my nails down with myself. Really, I just cut three of my nails. I didn't even want polish (the easiest manicure of the day!), just a simple manicure, clean up the cuticles a bit, and what I left with were 10 nails that had been previously nicely-shaped but are now creepy long ovals and not even all in the same direction. Some are filed to the left, some to the right.... weird. Creepy. Then the man who was doing my nails asked me something, and I was embarrassed that I didn't quite understand him (it was during the hand massage), so I nodded. Next thing I knew he was buffing my nails (OK, they are shiny) which I guess meant I agreed to pay $5 more? Wow. 10 shiny vampire-esque nails. Just cut three, filed them waaaay down (which I could have done myself at the beginning, I suppose) and will see my regular manicurist on Newbury St in Boston in a few days to fix the whole thing. read more

I made an appointment for an SNS Dip Manicure in person. I spoke with a man who was working with a client and he confirmed my appt for the following Tuesday at 9am, as they are appt only. I showed up at my appt on time. They claimed I made an appointment for a pedicure, but I didn't. So, instead they sat me down, took my temperature and three ladies that worked there didn't help me, gave me nail colors to choose then walked in the back room. NO other customers were there and they did not come back out. 25 minutes later I asked the man (because no one else was there) if they were going to help me and do my nails. All he said was "You made a pedicure appt". I felt so disrespected and unimportant that I walked out and will never go back. It's very upsetting, I was excited to get my nails done because I had heard great things. This was not the case with me. read more

came in about 45 minutes before closing, so I gave an extra star for that. however, I left with someone doing both my manicure and pedicure at the same time. while I felt like a princess, it was short-lived because even despite me being accommodating, they proceeded to slice and dice my fingers and still charge me full price, added an extra $5 fee after assaulting my pinky, and then still had the nerve to ask me to pay before the polish was applied. my mom asked me if I did them myself when I got back. I treated my girlfriends on Mother's Day for pedicures - Cons (many) - some staff were rough and cut toenails too short causing injury. Don't waist your money here!!!!!! I walked in for regular pedicure. The water in feet spa was so hot. It could burn my feet. My toes were mess because she was hurry to get another customer. I asked her for fixed it for me but she removed it all . I don't wanna wasted another 30 minutes there because I have something to do. Then I refused to get a new pedicure. *Take note* look at the dates of all of the reviews! I've been here several times in the last 6 months and I will not lie and say they always do a terrible job. They don't, the owners are talented and if you get one of them yours nails will turn out nicely. However, they are rude. Don't honor the people who have appointments (if you're going during a busy time, expect to wait at least 30 min). The nail techs are very inconsistent in skill levels I've had it happen twice where it's taken nearly two hours to to have a gel/powder manicure done And the pricing has been inconsistent as well. Due to the inconsistent techs I will no longer be going here. read more

The first time I had made an appointment with my friends and ended up waiting an 1 1/2 till they actually sat me. During this time they let someone else cut in front of me. When I spoke with the owner about it he said that nail technician can not do my nails and was not apologetic about my wait. Let me start with the good. Or the fine. It's spacious. Clean-ish. When I've had pedicures, they were good. BUT, and it's a big but, the issue is you cannot make appointments. I mean you can, technically. The owner will take them. Anytime you want. And when you show up. You will wait. And wait. And wait. This has happened to me three times. And each time I say this is my last time, and today it was. Walked in at 2pm, for a 2pm. Except there were three pedicures in front of me, waiting. And the owner, who is both rude and obnoxious, couldn't care less. "Maybe 30 minutes, maybe more," said the owner with shifty eye contact. Good news is, across the street in the mall is lucky nails. To top it off it appears that they "water down" their polishes with acetone or thinner and the result is your nails NEVER dry. Two hours later I removed the remnants of my manicure. My daughter graduates tomorrow from SR, and my husband and I wanted to treat her to some pampering. I read the YELP reviews of a few GB nail salons, and I booked her appointment at Happy. The Salon/Spa is conveniently located, easy to find, and parking is plentiful and conveniently located mere steps from their entrance. When we walked in, well, we were SO impressed. The salon is beautiful : large, great natural light, immaculately clean and spotless, nice configuration, quiet, and a very, very pleasant staff. There is ample, comfortable seating in a lively waiting area. Their menu of services and the prices are clearly displayed; this made it easy for DD to decide on a French white gel manicure, and I told her to go for the spa pedicure. DD and I were greeted as soon as we walked in the door and the gentleman who greeted us was very pleasant and we felt immediately comfortable. We live just outside of Washington DC in northern Virginia. I am no stranger to upscale nail salons and spas, and Happy Nail Salon and Spa rivals the Best of the Best in the DC area. Up on vacation for a month in the Berkshires. This place was recommended by a woman who cut my hair and I'm glad she did. Roger is the bomb. He is polite, super efficient and great at what he does. I just left - very happy with the service. I got the herbal pedicure and a french gel manicure from one of the ladies. She spent a ton of time with me and the lines on the French are some of the best I've ever had and I'm very particular about that. All of the folks working there today seemed to be very thorough and attentive to their clients' needs. My UV gel manicure with Roger is consistently superb, much better than my NYC manicures. The pedicures are heavenly, and include a foot/leg massage. This spa and nail salon is the unfriendliest and filthiest spa I have ever been to. My inkling was to walk out at the very beginning when the manicurist used an old file on my nails. She then proceeded to dilute polish and layer it on so thick that 45 minutes after manicure on a cold cold day all my nails smudged! A disgusting experience. I had an appointment for 12:30 for a pedicure and full set, got here on time and got my pedicure. After that I was told to sit down and wait. I waited about 30 minutes as the man did a manicure on a woman who just walked in- that he clearly knew. I understand respecting consistent clients but when that gets in the way of someone who made an APPOINTMENT, it becomes unprofessional and inconsiderate. I'm still sitting here waiting to be called for my manicure- 30 minutes later. Very unprofessional and condescending when I politely asked if he knew about how much longer it would be. It was made way too apparent that they only care about their consistent customers and anyone else is certainly less of a priority.
