It was time to pamper myself a little bit, so I wanted to try this spot out. My significant other came along as well. After walking inside, we were greeted almost instantly. I got a Manicure and Pedicure. The Manicure was 15 and the Pedicure was 22, so the prices seemed reasonable. We sat down to wait, but we were quickly prompted to get our services started. I was directed to a chair for the Pedicure first. At first, the water was very hot! The employee ended up changing the temperature. It turned pretty cold quickly. My nails were cut down, but they weren't shaped too great. I got a clear coat on them and that turned out nice. The Pedicure felt rushed. The job got done, but it could have been done neater in my opinion. It didn't feel relaxing to me at all. After the Pedicure, I was directed to a different area to get my Manicure. This ended up being a similar feeling as the Pedicure. I felt I was being rushed out of the place. She did alright on my nails. It was a clean place. Everything I encountered seemed sanitary and kept up with. The service was alright. We paid by card and left a tip on the same transaction. I didn't think it was appropriate for the employee to tell us to tip cash next time. Overall, I had a good experience here for the price it was. There wasn't anything special that stood out to me. She may have good prices, but my goodness. Wow, I never have been through anything like today. She should be ashamed of herself. Poor business for being the owner. We had a pedicure and no chips done as from the pictures you can see how that turned out. Do not come here!! I just came here & there was a new lady named Lisa. All I wanted was a pedicure & a no chip mani. With a soak off. She just started doing extra things without asking. For example she did an extra maybe 2 min massage. That I DID NOT ASK FOR & then at the end charged me $20 for it & charged me $25 for a soak off. They did such a great job as usual. My daughter always goes here. I started getting my nails done here a couple years ago but I do like to give other places a chance. This is just one place that never gets them wrong. I've had some places that were hit and miss. But this place is always on point. Today I had a guy. I've had Gina couple times before and he always does a great job. The other thing is it's not fun to get a Brazilian wax but these ladies are always very professional and very good. It is always going to be uncomfortable but it never just hurts. I have my legs and under arms done as well and it's not so bad as well. I am very pleased with them and I totally would recommend. I usually love going to this salon, and I have been going for years with my mom. This last time I went, I got paired up with one of the worst nail techs there. I've had here before, and I've told Jimmy,the owner, multiple times that I don't like how she does my nails, simple. but I didn't mind today because I had time and there was no one else in the salon. I wanted to give her another shot to redeem herself. I was wrong. so wrong. She made me soak my hands in acetone, because I requested to just take off my acrylics and I wanted a manicure and just clear polish! She would let them soak, and then would file them, not with a nail fine, but with a drill that hand sand paper on it, so you know how hot that got :). Then after filing my skin and soaking it in hot acetone over and over. She proceeded to cut my cuticles. Now here's where communication slightly got thrown all over the place. I told the woman "please be careful while cutting because I recently came and had a manicure already, so their not that bad." and she nodded, confirming she understood what had just came out my mouth. wrong. again. she kept cutting and cutting at my cuticles, and i kept telling her it hurt and i kept getting an "ok". but there's more. after all this happened. it was time for her to smooth out the edges and then proceed with whatever. she started to buff the nail, after she had already filed them with a nail file, trying to "shape them". well, she buffed and then started to put lotion on my hands... now here's the thing. i still had acetone/acrylic stuck on my skin and under my nails, and she just wanted to put lotion on? I told her no. I'm just going to wash my hands. so I did. I went and sat back down at the chair because I thought there was more work that needed to be done. well. can you guess what i'm going to say? i was wrong. yet again. she said "it'll be $20" i looked at her and drew a blank.. she wanted me to pay TWENTY DOLLARS FOR THIS? I asked her for some acetone on a napkin so i could scrub off the goo from where she melted and filed my nail a million times, but somehow still left huge pieces of acrylic STILL on my nail. The only reason this place gets an an additional star is because they were quick to seat you and the prices are super low. The sanitation here is extremely questionable. The tools like gross, they don't cover the pedicure baths so who knows how they're cleaning them. They use newspaper to catch skin droppings on the floor from the skin peeler they use. I'm visiting from out of the state but I'm seriously grossed out by this place. I probably could've done a better job at home. They're slick and scoop on "sea salt" to massage with and then say it's $6 more to use it. I watched her scrape the sea salt off of my leg and put it back into the container. Disgusting!! I came in a couple of weeks ago and had a powder dip French manicure that I liked. It was a good color and lasted fairly well for someone who is rough on nails like myself. This last visit was a complete debacle. I don't know if they changed the National color or product they carry, but the natural color was something of a pick bubble gum. It was absolutely terrible. I asked her to redo the color because it was so terrible looking. They owner basically started screaming at me that she buys the colors and I should come back and change it next time. I insisted on fixing it but it was still an off color that was not natural. The color was sanded off and the condition of my nails was deteriorating so I left with a ridiculous looking color. It was almost 3 hours of sitting there in complete chaos. All the time I was there the owner who is also a technician was screaming at another patron. 3 hours and a pounding headache was far more than I could stand. Very disappointing. I have to admit, normally I would have not accepted this service but just before I witnessed another lady question the price and the owner began screaming at her that she would call 911 and that was not a fight I had in me. I left very frustrated and disappointed. The language barrier makes proper communication limited. I don't know if rudeness translates across the languages, but the owner needs to change her tone. This was the first time I went to a nail salon. Happy Nails and Spa is close to where I shop. I have never, ever bit my nails before, but, for some reason, I feel more stressed lately. To keep my hands out of my mouth I thought gel nails would help. This was a wonderful experience and my nails look fantastic. Went to get my nails done. They made every one wear a mask which is great. When I was there they sat me at one end and the other customer at another end. Another client came in and sat in the middle. Middle client got done first and left. They did NOT clean the chair. 2 more clients came in they started the water next to my chair. I asked then about social distancing. They IGNORE d me. So NO social distancing there. Why in the world they wouldn't have sat her next to the person she came with I have no idea!!! Then another girl took me to do my nails. I wasn't paying attention to her because i was looking to see if they cleaned the chair after I got up..they didn't. I noticed that a couple did not change their gloves between clients extra gross!!! The prices here are great. This is the only place in the area I've seen them this cheap. I can get a full set for only $20, which I can't complain. They seem to be busy during the evening so there's usually a wait. Although cheap, the service isn't always consistent, some nail techs are much better than others so you may not always be completely satisfied depending on who you get. There was a black singer performing on a daytime tv show when this happened. When she returned, she whispered to my cousin "I don't like black people." Will never return. Not even a week after getting a full set filled, no chip, and chrome powder, all my nails started to chip. Then one completely broke off. I went back to fix and the bitch of an owner made it seem like I was a complete inconvenience to her. After her "trying to fix it" I had to point out that the polish still wasn't completely on the nails. Repeatedly throwing my hand back at me to put it in the light, then said " you done. Ok so I'm an idiot for giving this place another chance. I go in and they have a sign that says $35 no chip chrome pedicure. I was excited. I said that's what I want and I'm told it's $45. There's 3 or 4 of them arguing with me. And I say I just want what's on the sign - the $35 no chip chrome pedicure. After about 5 minutes of going back and forth and them getting really pissy they just tell me their false advertising sign is wrong and the no chip chrome pedicure is $45. Can't understand a word they say. Trying to figure it out was difficult. They gave me a huge attitude. From what I see also while I waited, no chairs were wiped down, no cleaning done and the pedicure bowls didn't seem clean. This is a -0- star place. Terrible and liars. I give this place 1 star... My two friends and I went in for pedis and acrylics. To start things off they split us up when there were more than enough pedi chairs open I had to get my acrylics done first. Then they didn't listen to my friend when she told them how she wanted her toe nails painted. The lady who did my nails didn't say anything to me, but was constantly chatting to the two girls on either side of her in whatever language they speak. The two other girls were both just staring at my nails, which made me extremely uncomfortable. Then when I was getting my pedi alone, my friend who was done at this point came over to talk to me and got yelled at because apparently they had just mopped there. So I was already extremely dissatisfied with my service there and then I realized the next day that they had not pushed any of our cuticles back when putting on our acrylics so they looked horrible after 2 days, I could already see outgrowth. I get my nails and feet done at least once a month and I have to say that this nail salon and spa seems to be one of the cleanest I have found in this area and its location is perfect; literally 2 minutes from my apartment at The Mansards Apartments! I have yet to wait more than 5 minutes to be serviced and the work stations and pedicure chairs/tubs are SPOTLESS. They take cleanliness SERIOUSLY HERE! Although things were kinda slow, I eventually got my spot at a reasonable time. Had to speak very clear and repeat myself but it wasn't too difficult. I got exactly what I wanted and the results were so cute. My nail girl was very nice and only made a couple mistakes(very minimal and were fixed). They offer free beverages(how cool is that like wtf?), and are very very well priced. My bill was only $23 (not incl tip) for a full set of acrylics and 2 polishes. Whom I assume is the manager (Wendhe) asked me to take a seat at her station. She began the process not only was she rushing she was skipping steps. I am a nail tech (this is my pamper time) so I know the proper way to apply acrylic. She was aggressively pulling my fingers and not applying acrylic over the entire nail bed so I asked her why was she rushing. I can honestly say i am very impressed with my experience i had there. I have never had a manicure before so this being my first time I really can't compare it to anything but I have had my toes done before so i have an idea about how it all works. I was nervous about getting my nails done, with all the "horror" stories out there about how bad their nails turned out and I must say that after reading the reviews of this place the reviews really do not do this place justice. They took a long time looking at a picture that I showed them of the nails I wanted and they made a huge effort to give me exactly what i wanted. Even after i said it doesnt have to be exact just along the same lines they didnt take that as an answer and they stived for perfection. They made the environment very comfortable with people talking and having a good time, i never once felt awkward or anything which is a first because i normally always am very awkward when i try things for the first time.
