No ma'am! I found this place on google because it was close to the airport. I walked in and in good spirits and should've judged the book by its cover in this instance. This place was dirty and run down. I figured my nails couldn't look worse then when I came in so here we go... The "technician" looked as though they didn't want or need my business. I understand everyone has bad days when working in service but this individual took the whole cake. I asked for a buff not polish and she said "that's old I don't have a buff." I preceded to go with the flow and offered my personal buff I had in my bag. She used an Emory board that looked as though it had been used nonstop since opening day... She then used cuticle cutters when I politely declined not to as this is a joint that you are likely to get an infection from. I'm sure there are other options for a decent manicure in the area. I said" hello" and didn't receive a response. So I walked over to her table to repeat myself, again no response. I told her how rude she was, but refused to act ignorant with her. My granddaughter was there for a mani/pedi and as soon as she sat in the chair, the owner told her don't mess up your hands because I don't have time to do them over. I kindly told her to take her hand off my granddaughters and I took her hand to leave. My granddaughter is 8 yes old. First time going to the nail shop. DON'T PATRONAGE THIS PLACE. Ive been here a few times for pedicures, which have always been pleasant and turned out nicely. I went in two weeks ago for a set of gel-claws. They were busy, it was a weekend. The only male in the shop greeted me and I started asking about the gels, but he just stared at me and kept asking me if I wanted white tips. Ok. White tips, sure. I admit I am shit at language barriers, I'll just roll over, character flaw. That's my fault. And on with the acrylics. I allowed this, also my fault, I guess. What was not my fault was the fact that he dug into my NAIL BED with the dremel. Not okay. He also removed two cuticles in doing so, causing open wounds, which is alarming in itself.. I keep my cuticles pretty short. The nails looked good so I went on my merry way, took care of my wounds. A week later they were crackling and peeling off already. So back I went, asked them to fix them. He basically dremelled the rough edges down and charged me $5 for a color, which was again a fault of the language barrier. A week later I took them off, they were crackled and looked like absolute crap. My nails are thin (hence the falsies) so I knew they would look destroyed.. but the giant digs into my nailbed are unusual and were unnecessary. My recommendation: Get one of the girls that can understand wtf you're saying, or just go here for natural nailcare. I have seen friends' gels from here, and they looked really great, but I'm not risking it. read more

I almost didn't go based on the low ratings/stars here on Yelp; however, I was pressed for time, this place is right around the corner and I had a broken nail that needing fixing urgently. I'm pleasantly surprised and happy that I ended up here. I went at 1:45pm on a Tues and was seen immediately. Vivian just finished my nails (dip manicure) and I'm VERY pleased with the results. She paid extra attention to the small details and even took time to dip several plastic "tips" in different colors to show me how the end result would look. *for anyone who has had dip before, you know the color on the sample isn't what the actual color looks like on your nail after 3dips. The current shop is kind of cramped inside and the customer flow is awkward, but she said they're relocating to the Dierbergs shopping center on Florissant near Carbonier (actual move date unknown). They use a sign-in process on an iPad and you're assigned a number, which I assume this is very useful during busier times. I will definitely be back! read more

Where do I start!.. I went to Happy Nails on Howdershell only because it's down the street from my house. I stop going because they were so crowded and then Sara left. To Make a long story short. The elderly lady I believe is there mom she was so so so so nice but they seem to be so mean to her (own mother sad) ! I got there at 6 because it was storming outside, ok y'all close at 7. I walk through the door Tina was finishing up one and had one waiting so the elderly lady did my pedicure. So I asked about a design on my nails. So Tina was like no design we don't do them anymore! I was like when did u stop? She stated a long time. And I was like how y'all don't them anymore and keep customers, i was looking thru there book and saw that they do still do designs for $5 a nail. So one of the customers whispered she does still do them she's lying. So I was like how y'all don't do nails designs but it's says it right here in this book. I was like so do I need to go down the street to Sara and Tina was like yes!.. do y'all know this BITCH was SERIOUS about not doing my design she grabbed her daughter put her coat on and left. They want more business to pay for the new shop, but they can't handle it alone with the new complaints of price increased. I have to move on not by choice but poor service. Happy Nails - Not so Happy. I tried this place with a groupon (2 gel manis and 2 pedis) for $58. I had my first mani and pedi in early October and the girls who did my nails made me bleed and my toe nails only lasted a few days, normally I get at least 2 weeks. And it took FOREVER. I then called today (Dec 2) to schedule my 2nd mani/pedi thinking I would just request someone else and give them another go. No such luck, when I told the owner that I was scheduling my groupon, she said I needed to bring the coupon back in. I had mentioned that I had another when I went the first time but they still insisted on collected my coupon. I explained the situation to the owner and she told me I was supposed to have come with a friend the first time. It does not say that anywhere on the groupon and they had said I could redeem the 2nd one another time when I was at my first appt. Ridiculous. The owner ended up raising her voice at me as if I were a huge moron. Definitely not the spa experience I was looking for. I called groupon and they issued a full refund immediately, without hassling me at all. That is customer service, not the attitude "Happy" Nails gives its paying customers. Service and gel color application were awful. The lady who served me was a sour puss, cut my nails too short (when I specifically asked her not to), and left the edges of my nails jagged. The emery board she used was shabby. I asked the technician not to apply cuticle oil, and instead she used a fully-loaded paint brush to coat each one of my nails and then directed me to the wash basin. They are very rude! Every time I go I think maybe the next time it will be better, but it never is. One of the techs dug into my nail bed with the dremel & had the nerve to tell me that I was a baby! I literally had to pray because I wanted to snatch her up out of her chair! This same tech did this to me before & I keep telling her that she's doing it too much. And while she's doing this she's talking to other people in her language & she keeps stopping. Also, they harass you about getting more services every single time. If I said no I mean no. I've been going to this place for 2 yrs never had an issue until today. I was the first 1 to arrive at the nail shop. Tina the lady whose done my nails for 6 mths now arrive with such attitude and you could tell. She came in, went to the back room with no greeting and came out and said "what you getting done" so angry. I shook it off because i know it's early. As i proceeded to sit down I mentioned "this is the third time in the row the same nail has broken" she began to attack me with words "that's your hand not mine, you work it too much" i said "I sit at a desk all day if that was the case they would all be broke" she said "well you asked me and i told you" yelling and told me to pay her up front. not only that, she tried over charging me for a fill in ombré nail whn the owner Sara had already quoted me a price. Which I never complain about the price, even when my nails turn out terrible I still pay and leave a tip...Sara reached out trying to rectify the problem but by that time I had already found a new spot. I have been to this place four times. The last visit was literally just that....As I was at the manicure/manicure drying station, I casually glanced out the window of the salon and the salon worker Tina had unloaded her SUV next to my car and had placed at least 15 cases of bottled water stacked up with no more than an inch from my car. I did not notice this until she was walking back in the salon from her errand (which obviously was going to buy bottled water) and she had moved her SUV and that point. I immediately asked her why she did that, as the cases of water could topple over and damaged my car. She raised her voice and said "No worry, I be careful!". I told her that I am going to worry because that is a vehicle I pay for so don't tell me not to worry. I did not like her tone so when I was at the receptionist desk to check out, I told her that I did not appreciate her tone, when she was out of line for placing cases of water stacked up so close to my vehicle. She rolled her eyes with a smug look on her face. During this time, she advised me of the total for my services. She would not humble herself and apologize nor did she look me in my eyes when speaking to me after the initial situation. I then handed her my debit card to pay. She did not return my card to my hand, but slapped it down on the counter. I immediately told her to hand me my card in my hand, as she was out of line. She then called for the nail technician who did my nails to come to the counter to hand me my card, because she would not do it. He handed me my card, but that was not the point as she is the one that was processing my transaction. I left the salon, but before doing so, informed my nail technician Mike that I would not be back due to Tina's poor attitude. The door was propped open that day, so as I was leaving out, I heard her speaking in her language to the other employees. I immediately turned around and told her if she needed to address me then do so while I was actually standing there not when I walk away. I have been getting my nails professionally manicured for over twenty years and have never experienced any negativity of this magnitude. Happy Nails should change their name to Sad Nails, because they are really pitiful. read more

Tried this salon the day before the 4th of July for a fill and pedicure. The nail tech tried to sell me every service available and wouldn't allow me to just feel the place out. Tried a gel top coat @ $5.00 because she said it would be better than a regular coat and last much longer and today my nails are brown when my polish was a green/blue summer tone. Called back today and they told me my nails were only guaranteed for 3 days, and I am 1 day late. They told me they can fix it however with a complete gel polish change for another $15.00 after I already spent almost $50.00 a few days prior with tip.
