I always hit up Chinese Restaurants in Longview on my drive up from Portland to Seattle. Not only is their food delicious and authentic, they also have some of the (surprise) best cheese burgers in town! The restaurant has been run by a local Chinese family for more than 25 years, and they are famous for their pot stickers, hot & sour soup, BBQ pork and honey glazed shrimp! I always buy 2 bags of frozen pot stickers to go and keep them in the freezer so whenever I miss their food, I always have some of it on hand! The restaurant also has a karaoke bar and can host big parties, so it's a great atmosphere for birthday parties and holiday get togethers as well! read more

Ladies and Gentalmen, once you've gone to Chinese Gardens resturant, all other asian resturants are put to shame! I have never had such delicious pot stickers and HK style House Chow Mein. My hubby loves thier A4 that has thier kung poa chicken, bbq pork, SS pork, and fried rice. The dish is so huge that there plenty for a 2nd meal. Your money goes a long ways! Thier honey glaze shrimp is kind of pricey but to die for. I can't help but order two (one for dinner and the 2nd to take home - make sure when you get the HG shrimp take out ask for the sauce on side so the shrimp doesn't get soggy. When I go back home to longview Chinese Garden is a must hit. Had a bowl of what they call hot and sour soup. Not. It is an egg flower soup kicked up a bit. Not anything like hot and sour. Still, it is very good. Had egg rolls. Which aren't egg rolls. So, I order hot and sour soup at EVERY Chinese restaurant I go to, and this place has by far the best! My husband gets me a large order of this everytime I'm sick! All I can say to start is, "Really bad." The egg foo yung was so dry it barely went down and the gravy was too salty. The BBQ pork was dry and lacking in flavor. If I could give 0 stars I would! My mother in law was in town and we decided this place for dinner. We got two separate orders and the lady said they would be here within an hour. The first order came around 1/2 hr later, he didn't have the second order. I called back to see where it was at, the women stated that the second order had potstickers and they take twenty minutes to make. So we would have to wait longer for the second order. Once it arrived 45 minutes after I called.. the order was wrong. We called back trying to fix this and instead of getting the manager like we asked for we got another random employee then finally dealing with her for we finally got the manager who told us if we didn't like it to calm down and go to Kim bowl instead! The prices reflected on the menu does not reflect the quality of the food or the establishment. $20 for Potstickers will never be reasonable. I must be spoiled in PDX because I have much better Chinese food to choose from. We came here for the bar once before and it was good. Nice, stiff drinks, and same this time. I ordered beef with broccoli that wasn't bad, but it was missing something. Steamed rice with the meal cost extra (really?!) I ordered egg flower soup, but unfortunately didn't get to taste that since our waitress forgot. My husband got A4, I think...with hot and sour soup. He said the soup tasted like "a barn" which I'm assuming isn't good. Otherwise, his food was honestly gross and tasted really bad. It was also ridiculously expensive for two people at just over 30 dollars (including an alcoholic drink) I can go to my local Chinese restaurant and spend just over 20 dollars including tip. The atmosphere is cool - the seating and decor is actually nice and regal seeming, but it's really quiet in there and you can hear literally every conversation and people eating. This place is okay, not really my favorite. My mom and I wanted to eat Chinese so we saw Chinese Garden Restaurant while driving around. What I like about this restaurant is that they have a great lunch menu, customer service, and a nice, clean place to eat. For the most part, I didn't care for this place mostly because of the food. I really didn't care for their parking lot either. It's so small and there's only one way out. Something else I didn't like is that they don't have a to go menu or even an online menu. The lady I talked to said that they gave up on them. I love Chinese food, but I really didn't like their food. It tasted bland to me. I ordered the orange chicken. The only thing I liked about that was that I liked the pork that came with it. I'm a huge fan of chicken and egg rolls, but I just didn't like how they where made there. This is the average Chinese restaurant. They unfortunately appear to have a lot of canned stuff that the put on the plate. They also have a lot of MSG in their food. I feel like I see my nieces more just cause I'm trying finding reasons to drive through Longview. I always get the pot stickers and the number 7 dinner combination. First of all I feel like a lot of places don't offer general's chicken in combination dinners. Also they let you choose if you want fried rice or vegetable lo mein. And the lo mein is sooo good. I'm not here to lie to you, so when I tell you they have the most amazing potstickers in the world, I'm not bullshitting. They are huge but that's the not best part. The filling is delicious. And it comes with the most incredible ginger vinegar. I love everything I've tried here. I just wish it was closer to me, but I guess I'll just have to keep finding reasons to go to Longview. Chinese Garden has been my go-to Chinese restaurant for years, but I noticed 3 or 4 years ago that the food here was suddenly lacking in flavor. In fact, any food I ordered tasted like...lightly salty water, if that makes sense. Even with the lack of flavor in their food, I went here when I wanted Chinese food, only cheating on them a handful of times. I am pleased to say that the last two times I went there (the past few months) the food is much better and more like it used to be when this was THE place to go. One more thing -- I LOVE that there are several people here that have been working here since I was a teenager (20+ years ago), but they have one waitress/server that is just miserable. She's always complaining and grumpy and is just mostly unpleasant unless you catch her in a rare good mood. Sometimes this can be funny...especially when you're with others that know she is this way, but she really needs to shape it up or not work there anymore...she's a real downer. Follow the advice others have mentioned: if you want potstickers, order them ASAP and plan on waiting (or call them in ahead of time if you simply cannot wait that long). read more

The pot stickers appetizer tasted amazing! I love the hot n sour soup but the new owners are very strange and rude to my friends. If you don't mind paying extremely high prices and don't mind a rude Chinese owner lady then this is a great place to eat. I heard the best days to eat there are Thursday through Sunday.
