We drove an hour and a half to Longview to meet friends for lunch. They couldn't make it, but we decided to give Siam Spice a try anyway, since we had made the drive! Parking (mid-week) was easy on the street and we only had to walk half of a block. The location is easy to find. We walked in shortly after opening, and though there was already a table seated, it was eerily quiet. There is no music or ambiance, which is odd with the high ceilings and open concept of the layout. We were greeted and sat near the window (which we requested, preferring to sit near the light, as the inside the sort of dark) and we sat for a while before they visited our table and asked for our drink order. Once ordered, the drinks came relatively quickly. We also ordered the coconut shrimp, which was probably the best dish that we had here. We sat near the front window for the natural light, as it was a lovely day. The food took an inordinately long time to come out and there is no music or anything else, so it was very awkward and quiet. Once our food came, we had a very hard time enjoying it because there was 6-7 flies buzzing around us and trying to land on our food. It was very distracting and frustrating. What we did eat was sort of bland and the rice was sort of dry... tasted a bit like it had been reheated in a microwave. 2 stars because the young woman who served us was very nice and the Thai iced tea we had was delicious in addition to the shrimp. We won't go out of our way to eat here again. Hopefully they get the fly issue under control. read more

I loooooove this hidden gem!!! If you like authentic Thai, this is the place for you. The owners love what they do, and you can tell. I love this family!! The restaurant itself, is large enough for big groups, and has a calm home like feel to it. As for the yummies... bruh, ANYTHING you try is phenomenal!!! Just enjoy it!! My go to dish is Pad Ki Mow, or the spicy Thai basil fried rice... but are rich in flavour and the spice is spot on!! I hope you love it as much when you visit. read more

Grabbed some take-out orders of chicken pad thai near closing time on a Friday night. We called the order in directly, and it was ready for pickup in about 15 minutes. The portion sizes were generous, quite tasty, and had plenty of chicken in them. Interestingly, they provided a slice of lemon as a garnish, whereas I'm used to pad thai being served with a lime. With tip, our total for for the two orders of chicken pad thai ran about $45, which I feel was fair given that each order was two portions. read more

I've only been here once and the food was good, the service is fine, but the portions seemed a little on the small side. I saw some other patrons get boxes for their leftovers, but my friend and I didn't leave a spec on our plates. We're not even huge eaters. Maybe slightly more than average. The place is a lot bigger on the inside than you'd think. The furniture and decorations are all mismatched but in cute endearing kind of way. My friend and I sat in the front, which was kind of cool because of all the windows, but it was a bit echoing, so probably don't sit there if it's slow and you're discussing classified war plans. One thing to note, there is a 3% charge if you use a card. I'd give four stars instead of three but the portions seemed so small compared to the price. I would eat here again though. This is a great place to stop for Thai food when passing by Longview, as we were for STP. We loved the red curry with shrimp, pad see ew and mango sticky rice. The fish cakes were good but tough. Overall, generous portions and delicious! We asked for 2 star/medium heat, which felt like a 3. I've been building my heat tolerance, so this was perfect for me. Service was friendly and quick. This was our first visit to Siam Spice and we chose it based on the reviews we read on Yelp. Our son was visiting and since we all love Thai food, Siam Spice turned out to be an excellent choice. The restaurant is located in the historic section of downtown Longview. It is furnished with mismatched tables and chairs which added to the historic building's ambiance. We each ordered curry dishes plus the crab rangoon appetizer to share. The rangoon came out immediately and was delicious! Our curries arrived shortly afterwards. My son had yellow curry, my husband got the Siam spice curry, and I had Panang curry. They all had just the right amount of spice and plenty of vegetables and tofu. Our waiter (who we assumed was the owner) was very efficient and very entertaining with a great sense of humor. This was a very enjoyable meal experience for us with both the service and food. During the heatwave and I mentioned to the woman at the counter I needed something cooling, she whipped up this delicious cucumber salad off menu. Second visit to Siam Spice was not planned but I was glad they were open after being declined opportunity to eat at UnPhogettable2, as their chef was leaving early was what I was told. Just a few blocks difference between the 2 restaurants. My bowl of Tom Yum soup came quickly & was steaming hot with fresh mushrooms, plenty of lemongrass, onion & basil; I chose chicken for the protein, of which there was quite a bit of pounded flat white tender meat. I've eaten here a couple times and it was always good. Tonight, it was horrible. Ordered cashew nut chicken and volcano beef, both were so salty that they were almost inedible, we left 80% of the food on the plate. I had a thick piece of ginger that was not peeled or chopped left in my food. Service was also lacking. After the food was brought to our table, nobody came to check on us. When a woman came to our table she noticed we had barely touched our entrees and asked what was wrong. I told her and nothing was said or done to make it right. The food and service are excellent. However, I would advise you to pay with Cash, not a credit card. It's a good thing we checked our receipts (there were 3 of us--each paying for their own meal)--somehow $8-$11 tips were added to our $18 meals! It was a real hassle getting it fixed. Terrible thick clump of dry noodles with 6 shrimp no flavor very disappointing we gave it a try as our daughter said how good it was ... however she gets the dumplings . on the Pad Tai besides it was spendy for what it was. My husband and I decided to pop in and try a new restaurant. The inside is quite nice. I've noticed it looks as though all the furniture and decor was either thrifted or given to them. Which I think adds a nice little homey touch. At first I was a little skeptical but the service was quick and the food was ABSOLUTELY delicious. Honestly, 5 stars isn't enough. I would give them a 10/10. I had the yellow chicken curry with a medium spice and it was the best curry I've had, hands down. The Crab Rangoon is everything to write home about as well. Its more like fast food Thai food than anything else. The crab Rangoon had no crab in it.... just cream cheese and was dripping with grease (more greasy than I've had before at other places). The Pad Thai tasted nothing like Pad Thai and I'm thinking they just poured sweet and sour sauce over it and called it good. The chicken in both the pad Thai and stir Fry was rubbery. Siam Spice is probably the best Thai food I've had. I love that it's consistently good as well. I usually always order chicken pad Thai medium heat and salad rolls and I'm never disappointed. Tonight I decided to get the pineapple fried rice medium heat, calamari and Siam dumplings. Calamari was good, but doesn't necessarily stand out. The dumplings and the peanut sauce was to die for. So glad I finally tried them! The pineapple fried rice was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. I personally prefer noodle dishes but it was still delicious. I've brought friends and I've never had someone not like their food. One of my best friends is extremely difficult to please and usually has some complaint no matter where we go. We ordered take out and she couldn't stop raving about how amazing the food was and how it reminded her of her moms cooking. I'm so glad I found this place! read more

The shrimp spring rolls were very nice with avocado and a great handmade peanut sauce. The yellow curry has potatoes, carrots, and onion.
