Our "American-Chinese" food was exactly as I had hoped it would be. We had egg rolls, orange chicken, and chicken fried rice. (See pics). There was a lot of food, we had fantastic service and enjoyed our meal very much. Being a Friday night I thought it would have been busier. We were the only people in the small little restaurant. But it could be because it was raining extremely hard that night. I noticed a lot of take out meals packaged and ready to be picked up so maybe people were not willing to get wet ??? We ordered the tea smoked duck, Mapo tofu and stir fried eggplant with green beans. The vegetable dish was quite acceptable while the Mapo tofu lacked flavor coated with a uninspired thick gravy. It was mediocre, two and a half stars--I think Panda Express and Safeway's Chinese food are slightly better, both of which are cheaper--so I won't go back. We got the orange chicken; the flavor was more like sweet and sour and the texture was chewy/rubbery with too much breading on it and a low-grade of chicken. We also got what looked like a churro ("fried dough") but it was not rolled in cinnamon/sugar nor did it contain any spice--it tasted of flour and cheap slightly dirty oil. They gave us free spring rolls; the flavor inside was good (not the bland wet cabbage flavor you often find in spring rolls) but they were far too greasy. We also got Yu-Shiang pork which had decent flavor and texture but needed some crunch or pops of flavor (cashews and pineapple perhaps?), something to make it interesting. The ordering process was frustrating as there was a pretty extreme language barrier, so a lot of confusion both during ordering and pickup, but in the end the order was correct. read more

This is a great place to eat if you want the next day off of work! My boyfriend and I ate soup dumplings for dinner from this restaurant and the next day my boyfriend was *throwing up* and *pooping* at the same time all day so he stayed home from work and spent the whole day with me and it was great! i didn't get sick though which i was really thankful for so its really a 50/50 if you'll get sick or not but it may be worth taking your chances if you plan strategically, the dumplings were pretty good like 6 out 10 taste wise. read more

First time here with my family and it was delicious. We had the Crab Puffs, BBQ Pork Fried Rice, Sizzling Squid, Xiao Long Baos (Dimsum) , Eggplant with Green Beans, and General Tso's Chicken. We were given tea and water after we sat down and ordered. All the food came out within 20-25 mins. Everything was delicious tasted amazing! Ordered Mongolian beef and General Tsoa's chicken with pot stickers. for takeout. Got it home and it was really, really bad. The potstickers were all dried up little chunks in the dough. THe Mongolian beef had a weird fish after taste and did not look like beef. I was only able to eat a few bites before I gave up -also put a huge amount of red chilies. Maybe they were trying to disguise the taste? The General Tsoa's chicken was deep fried breaded chicken with a red sauce. Essentially it was like someone took a bag of breaded chicken, threw it in a deep fat fryer and add sweet and sour sauce. Was not good. Really disappointed. I had even read recommendations on here to see if was worthwhile. Don't waste your money. Cost me fifty bucks and def was not worth it. read more

Excellent food! We ordered their BBQ Pork Fried Rice, Crab Puffs, Egg Flour Soup, and Dried Pot Beef. We recommend them all! Speedy service! We were surprised by how quickly the waitress took our order and our food was ready. We were all super hungry, including my 6-year-old, so we were especially grateful for the short wait. Lovely interior! It's beautifully decorated and feels very homey. Even their bathroom was pleasant - a little bit cold, but clean, beautiful, and roomy. Personal Opinions: I wish they had complimentary tea like another Sichuan restaurant I've been to, or the option to order a pot of tea. Also, it would be nice if they had something to entertain the littles with such as paper and crayons. We were very pleased with our first experience here and hope to come visit again soon! read more

I don't like beef and broccoli from a lot of restaurants that I've tried but it's my favorite dish from the restaurant New Moon which closed recently. Totally tasteless, bland food! The service was good, but this food was so disappointing. We went for lunch and both ordered from the lunch menu. I ordered the House Tofu and my husband ordered Broccoli Garlic. A cup of egg flower soup and two eggrolls came with our lunch specials. Soup was very thin and eggrolls were okay. The House Tofu contained mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and green and red peppers, but it was all floating in the oil it was stir fried in. There were no spices which gave this food any Asian flavors. My husband received a platter of just broccoli and white rice. We could not taste any garlic flavor at all. We tried both soy sauce and sriracha sauce but even those helped very little. This food was just bland and tasteless! The fortune cookies which came with our bill were extremely stale. We cannot recommend this restaurant nor will we ever go back again. read more

I ordered through UberEats and thought the food was ok. There was a good amount of it, but the two things I ordered weren't exactly what I'm used to. I will try some other things eventually and we'll see how that goes. General Taos chicken was all white meat and tasted fine. Dandan noodles were ok too but they were a little more dry than I like and didn't taste like sesame at all. I've had this dish at a few different places and what I always hope to get is something more like what you get from Dough Zone--a nice helping of sesame paste and chili oil at the bottom of your bowl that you stir around. Dang I feel really bad for making this review because they seemed like really nice people. The egg flour soup was great except I could definitely taste some leftover dish soap in there. The xiao long bao was acceptable. But the spicy chicken order I got was not really edible. It was really dry, salty, and just not even a meal. It was just the smallest pieces of chicken I've ever seen and peppers. My house is only a few blocks from the restaurant and I went straight home so it wasn't a freshness thing. We have eaten at this restaurant numerous times. We typically head to this location for their fresh garden rolls. I always enjoy just about anything on their menu. A rather quiet place, and the service is adequate. Not much in the way of ambience or atmosphere at this restaurant. It's generally operated and maintained by the owners themselves. First I should say the server was gracious and kind. However, we really did not care for any of the food we ordered. Overall it was very heavy and salty. I wouldn't describe it as overly fresh. We stopped in because the reviews were decent. The server seemed confused that we didn't want to take anything with us but we explained we did not care it and left. $65 for two, with appetizer. I'd been going to the building that housed the former Paragon Chinese restaurant since I was a child. I also especially love Sichuan style food, so it's excited to try this new restaurant in town. House of Szechuan. I bought two dishes, the Szechuan chicken I believe and another dish. I got them to go. I got them out into my van open the lid took one bite of each and immediately returned them to the restaurant. They were that bad. I didn't even bother to ask for my money back. I just put the dishes on the counter, told them it was the worst Chinese food I've ever had and then I wouldn't be back. I went to this place for the first time Friday November 3 after a very close friend of mine told me about it. I am completely suprized about how good this food is. I have always loved Asian cusine, and have eaten at some great places in my life time all over the United States. The Taste of Sichuan here in Longview is absolutely the finest Asian cusine I ever had the pleasure of eating. I had to ask why does this food taste so good???? Disappointed We were so looking forward to a nice Valentines night out and thought we'd give the place a try. The General Tso's was soggy and not very flavorful. The Chicken Lo Mein was not flavorful also and was so stuck together we couldn't get the noodles to loosen up. The Lady trying to help us with our order didn't really speak English so the order had to be gone over multiple times. Feel bad for giving such a low score but have to be honest. This is first time I had meal there. The store changed to a new owner so the food has a better flavor. If you like spicy food, this will be a great place to go. If you do not like spicy, there are some alternatives, including vegetarian, fresh and authentic. We were really happy to be celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary here, and we met some awesome people who truly knew real Chinese food. We had dumplings, spicy no bone Chongqing chicken, sizzling lamb, sour vegetables with tofu fish. It was a good value, and I will definitely go back. The restaurant's interior has been improving. We heard from friends who raved about this place and decided to try it. We tried the Sizzling Tofu w Sweet n Sour sauce, Mu Shu pork, and Stir Fried beef. It was all excellent. My preference was the spicy stir friend beef, but I must say the silken tofu medallions in the sizzling tofu were amazing. My wife loved the Mu Shu pork (her favorite). It was early Sunday evening, and we were the only ones in the place (until a small family came in as we were finishing up). This puzzled me until I later saw some bad reviews. I cannot believe it's the same place! But I understand that there was a change in ownership recently, and I would encourage those earlier reviewers to come back and give them another try. The reason I gave it a 2 and not a 1 was because the owner was nice but I have to be honest the curry potato beef was horrible the soup tasted old and the spicy pork belly is not pork belly it's bacon dipped in flour and fried and the Tai Tea was horrible tasted more like Lipton tea and milk added in, the lady is nice but I will never eat here again read more

I've driven past this little gem weekly since I started working out of the Port of Longview in July of '22. I love Thai food and wanted to stop. Well today, I finally got the opportunity to do so. I ordered the spring rolls, chicken 3 ways (General Tso's, Sesame and Sweet n Sour), it's around $19. It comes with white rice and three helpings of chicken that is enough for 3 meals. We also had the potstickers. Some of the potstickers came a little more done than the others and I liked them better because I like them a little crunchy. The spring rolls were great and the sauce they served them with was fantastic. I was expecting either a peanut sauce or sweet n sour. It was something a little different, had great flavor and a little tangy. Maybe it was a different sweet and sour, it was more of a dark brown and not your normal red SnS sauce. Back to the chicken, it was good. It was flavorful, moist and a huge serving. My favorite was the Sesame and the General Tso's. Their GT is a little different than what I am used to, but I liked it more than the kind I'm used to. The SnS is good, but it's a bit more on sweet side. I also tried a Thai Ice Tea, it was sweet and was more like an iced coffee. You most definitely get a smoking deal for the amount of food that you receive. We arrived at 1:30 on a Wednesday to an empty dining room of eight tables with four chairs each. We immediately realize that this is just the old restaurant (Momo) with a new name but no changes to the interior, service, or cooking style. We were greeted and seated as soon as we arrived. The menu is a traditional old-school Chinese menu with titles of dishes that mean little to an English-speaker (actual descriptions would be a phenomenal addition to the menu). Prepare to Google, I guess. The pump on the fish tank rumbles in concert with the water splashing into the two fish tanks tucked into a storage area in the corner of the otherwise silent dining room. We ordered and waited a few minutes for one Thai dish and one Sichuan dish. The Thai dish, Pad Kee Mao, was bland ; it had celery (?!) and onion, but NO bell pepper, broccoli, or basil (!!!). The Sichuan dish was a dry chicken dish, like semi-spicy popcorn chicken, but EXTREMELY salty. I ate a couple of bites and stopped, eating the steamed rice instead in the hope that it would take some of the salt out of my mouth. (Two hours later I was still trying to get the salt off of my tongue!) Gave this place a try (again). I doubt I'll be back. read more

Excellent food. Probably the best Chinese food I've eaten in Longview. I had the kung pow shrimp and it was nicely spices. Portions were great. Not too huge but enough for a to go box. I would give it a 4 and my wife would give it a 2, so I split the difference and did 3. I ordered the low mein with pork and the meat was cooked so so well, and the size of the noodles were just what I liked. With this being said overall it was lacking a bit taste wise. We also ordered the "chicken 3 ways" and although I liked it, they all tasted quite similar. One of the 3 was also pretty dry. I LOVE Chinese food so for me I would most likely go back and visit again. If you are more of a picky Chinese food eater then I suggest maybe looking elsewhere. read more
