We were looking for a place near my dad's home for Chinese take-out. The options were limited with similar reviews, so we decided upon Happy Panda. It was only 5 miles away and my niece and nephew liked the name "Happy Panda!" The food was good overall. We ordered the Chicken with Garlic Sauce, Bean Curd with Mixed Vegetables, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Lo Mein and Dumplings. The chicken and bean curd were delicious and flavorful. And, had we only ordered these two items, this review would easily be a 4 star review. The Dumplings, Lo Mein, and Sweet and Sour Chicken were not the best. The dumplings were very doughy, something about the Lo Mein was off, and the sweet and sour chicken pieces were overly fried and dried and some were hard to bite into. read more

Food quality is the issue here. Recently ordered 5 items, all 5 had significant problems. For example, the Cold Sesame Noodles were made with spaghetti instead of Asian noodles and the sauce was watery and not to style. The beef used in the Beef with Snow Peas had a such a strong off taste it was truly inedible. read more

I am a Chinese takeout (American style "Chinese" takeout food) regular. Pre-Pandemic HAPPY PANDA was 3 star OK. Now in 2022 they have a cook who prepares food "Chinese style" - he uses lots of oil in the wok and at the end of cooking he adds more oil. I have experienced this when young new cooks are at the woks. Apparently Chinese people (in China, especially Fujian province) like extra oil in their food. To my taste that much extra oil makes the food too oily/greasy. Not going back. read more

We order from HappyPanda at least twice a month. The food is always fresh and delicious. There sweet and sour sauce taste authentic. They have the best white rice around. I use to eat at great wall in Elkton, but their sesame chicken, rice, and sweet sour chicken was consistently awful all of a sudden. Delivery can sometimes be sketchy, so if you're starving you might want to go pick it up yourself. Love there szechaun shrimp, lemon pepper wings, fried wings, and sweet sour chicken. read more

You can order Chinese food from any number of places, skip this one. The kitchen is so gross, the staff is disgusting, and the food is weak. This is Elkton. And an Americanized Chinese takeout place in a strip mall with 2 or 3 tables. Having said that - our food was pretty good. And certainly a good value. I had the curry chicken and the veggies were fresh, chicken tender and the curry was flavorful. The spicy Ma-la with chicken was the perfect combo of numbing Szechuan and spicy heat. I had the worst experience with this restaurant by far. We had ordered a luncheon special by delivery and the prices that they billed us were double of what was there on the menu. The vegetarian food we ordered was not present in the bag and the delivery boy made us wait almost an hr for the food.. By the end of the day it spoilt our near perfect day at Elkton. Ok so first let me start off positive. This was one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Elkton. They were always nice and my food was always good. So last week I ordered Hunan shrimp. When I got back home I noticed the shrimp looked funny. I couldn't put my finger on it, then I thought about it ok they are not pink or firm. So I called the store and talked to Helen. I told her that my shrimp didn't seem fresh. She said they are fresh we cooked them at 4:30( I got my food after 7pm.) She told me that they get the shrimp ready for the rush. I then told her I like fresh shrimp, not shrimped cooked at 4:30. I was going too go back and get a fresh order the next day. But I was so turned off by the ordeal, I went and got my money back. The food is fresh and good. I pretty much order the same thing. Today I tried the vegetable fried rice. OMG did it hit the spot. I was desperate for cheap/low grade Chinese food with decent taste. This was not it. The sweet and sour sauce for the sweet and sour chicken tasted watered-down and you could chew on the "teriyaki steak" for days. Food was cooked for maybe 2 minutes and they just shoveled the chicken out of a giant bin (which may be common practice, I'm not sure). We love Happy Panda. We discovered them the first week we moved to the area, and we've not been disappointed. Their food is good, prices are good, and the ice tea is terrific. The crab rangoon are terrific, and we ALWAYS order the sweet and sour chicken, which has always been good. We order quite frequently, and on the rare occasion our order hasn't been correct, they've always gone out of their way to make it right. This Chinese place is better than the others because it's not that greasy, worn out Chinese place, and the vegetables are fresh and the meats, are of good quality and are also fresh. We all know that greasy, sloppy, fast food Chinese take out or delivery, and were all probably pretty sick of it, but we put up with it! This place actually has fresh shrimp and the chicken on a stick that taste fresh and marinated within the last 24 hours, all the veggies taste fresh like they were chosen in the last 24 hours to 48 hours and there's not a lot of grease on the bottom of these plastic takeout containers when you remove it to put it on your plate or bowl. This is a refreshing Chinese restaurant. I have been so happy with my last two orders from this place and I will never order from another place around my home, and I have five different Chinese delivery to my home. This place is how everybody else should be fresh, spicy and sweet, fresh vegetables, not greasy, and really clean and crisp and fresh tasting. Wow I am really happy to finally find a Chinese place that cares about what they're doing. I did find that my orders for delivery or handled better and pack better and delivered faster during the day shift on Monday through Friday, because when I ordered at night it was pack a little sloppier and was leaking a little bit in some of the containers. That's true of most restaurants your a team, is usually during the day and The regular daytime hours when the owners are in the building. LOL, LOL. This place also has a great variety of Thai food and some really good priced specials for lunch and for dinner with the combo platters. This place also gives you bonus food when you order over a certain amount, like a free can of soda, eggroll, or a side of chicken and broccoli. They also have those nice little fried and sugarcoated round doughnuts that we get up about five and boy are they fresh and good. Don't let this one slip by because this is the restaurant that will give you the freshness and quality that you're looking for in Chinese take out or delivery. These assholes are fucking horrid!!!! First the girl messes up our order and we nicely ask her to fix it. She begins to tell us it is ready for delivery already. Oh really? It's ready for delivery within the two minutes I had placed my order? She then goes on to say she cannot fix our order and that it is our faults. Okay so now I am already mad that my friend and I are already paying a extra 10 dollars each. So she says the only thing she can do is give us two egg rolls. Umm how about our money back? No all she can do is two extra egg rolls. I don't even like egg rolls!!! So now we wait for them to show, and whats funny is she claimed the order was already done, and ready for delivery; I shit you not we waited over an hour when they are not even down the road. The guy finally shows...I get my order, and leave a whole one dollar tip because these people don't even deserve that but I am a good person.... Anyways I open the bag and now I am in a full blow rage. NO SPOON! NO NAPKINS! GREASE EVERYWHERE! MY SNAPPLE IS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND! I call for the third time today and the women says the driver will turn around we my snapple but guess what he is a no show.... I spent about $20 for a decent beef and brocolli and a egg drop soup that looked like a sinus infection and tasted like piss with melted butter... NEVERR again!!
