Came here on a Friday morning while visiting Philadelphia to try their dim sum, and we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was! We ordered the chicken lo mein (without vegetables for my nephew), diced dry spicy chicken, xiao long bao (XLB), pan-fried Sheng Jian Bao, chicken feet, crystal shrimp dumplings, and egg tarts. The chicken lo mein was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of salt and flavor. The diced dry spicy chicken came with a side of rice, which balanced the bold seasoning nicely. The chicken was crispy on the outside while remaining juicy on the inside, and the spice level was around a 5/10, which is enough to give it a satisfying kick without being overwhelming. The XLB wasn't served with julienned ginger, as some restaurants do, but the broth inside the dumplings had a subtle ginger flavor that was a pleasant surprise. The dumplings were well-seasoned and flavorful enough that they didn't even need soy sauce. The pan-fried Sheng Jian Bao (five dumplings per order) was slightly less authentic than I expected. While the flavor was spot on, the filling lacked any soup, and both the top and bottom of the bao were crispy (typically just the bottom of the dumpling is pan-seared). They ended up tasting more like well-made pan-fried dumplings than traditional Sheng Jian Baos. The chicken feet came three to an order and were tender, with a savory sauce that had a hint of sweetness. The crystal shrimp dumplings were fresh and delicate, and the egg tarts made for a great way to finish the meal with their flaky crust and creamy custard filling. The service here was excellent. Our server spoke almost perfect English, which isn't always expected at restaurants specializing in authentic dim sum. The food arrived quickly, piping hot, and they accept both cash and credit cards. The restaurant is fairly spacious, though it doesn't have the large banquet-style atmosphere you might associate with some traditional Chinese restaurants. New DimSum Kingdom was a bit underwhelming overall--something I probably should've expected given the name. We stopped in for lunch on a Sunday and had no trouble getting a table, which was a plus. We ordered the lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice, Singapore rice noodles, steamed pork soup dumplings, and sliced beef with scallion. The sticky rice was decent but a bit bland. The soup dumplings were noticeably larger than usual, which I appreciated, but the wrappers were thicker and doughier than what I'm used to, and the flavor didn't quite deliver. The Singapore noodles and beef dish were solid--nothing standout, but reliable--and it was a nice touch that the beef came with rice included, which many places charge extra for. Service was on the less attentive side, and overall there wasn't anything that really stood out as memorable. Plenty of seating to accommodate larger groups bu I'd give it 3 stars--mainly because, being in Chinatown, I expected something a bit more authentic. The atmosphere is what you would expect in a cozy Chinatown restaurant, everything was clean and we were greeted and seated immediately. Prices are very fair and there are a lot of options! I chose the General two chicken, scallion pancakes, and pork buns, they were SO good and fresh. The lady running around was very friendly as well and such a hard worker, we appreciated her effort and were happy to chat with her as well. Came to visit this location to try their soup dumplings (forgot to take a picture!) From what I understood, this location is new opening so everything is clean and open. Service was quick and efficient - our order came out fairly fast. With all of the dumplings that we tried - our eyes were bigger than our stomachs! The last time I had Dim Sum was from the highest rated place at the time in San Francisco, and the Dim Sum I had today was just as good. Dumplings, Shumai and Scallion pancakes were tasty and cooked perfectly, and the Black Salted Egg Custard Buns were freakin incredible. Went in for dinner on a hot day to try the new dim sum kingdom. Wanted to cool down a bit so ordered a taro smoothie. It was pretty standard flavor but more of a slushee instead of a smoothie. Pan fried dumplings were just okay, lacking a bit of that good fried flavor so maybe not fried long enough. Shrimp dumplings were also pretty standard. The spicy pork soup dumplings had a very tasty broth though wasn't necessarily spicy. I'll have to try their other soup dumplings or something with that tasty broth next time. Staff are quick to help order and bring food out, and refill drinks. Overall an average, straightforward spot to get a meal, thanks. read more

Very much enjoyed dinner. We shared soup dumplings, lotus leaf-wrapped sticky rice, pork shumai and a wonderful chicken corn soup. All were delightful. Service was a little too attentive. It was a Friday evening and the restaurant was about 1/2 full, so I think the staff had a little too much time on their hands. I would have liked slightly less attentiveness. This place has only been open for a few months. They got an extended food menu, including Cantonese dishes, Taiwanese dishes, and more. Went there for dim sum and wasn't disappointed. The highlight of the day was definitely the chive dumplings (fried), very juicy and flavorful. I believe the owner was there and he was very accommodating, as well as the staff. We ordered a variety of items and everything was flavorful, hot, juicy, and filling. We had a good time at the New Dim Sum Kingdom. We just got an order of the spicy pork soup dumplings. They were fantastic, had a ton of flavor and good amount of pork. I liked them even a little better when adding some of the chili sauce that was on the table to them. Our only complaints were they advertised them as bogo outside on a board and that didn't happen and advertised a % off your bill if paying in cash that they didn't do either. Both we didn't ask more about just enjoyed the experience and moved on but something to ask about if that's the reason why you're there. Service was friendly and the space was clean. my friend and i checked out this new dim sum place in chinatown when my usual go-to spot was closed, but we were underwhelmed. we walked in at 130-2pm on a wednesday, and the place was completely dead. the restaurant is quite large, but there was only one other customer in the entire place. the staff were friendly, but the person taking our order was clearly undertrained. he didn't know how to use the ipad and got our order wrong several times. another staff member, presumably the manager, came out to assist him. the food itself was mediocre. i was very disappointed by the pan-fried pork buns. they looked like ugly underfilled dough balls, nothing like the picture on the menu. the filling was sparse and the outer dough was too thick. the soup dumplings were decent, but the dough was also on the thicker side and several of the dumplings did not have soup. we also ordered the shrimp and pork shao mai and the chicken feet which were both decent. overall, this place was pretty mediocre and not worth the visit. plenty of better dim sum places in chinatown. read more

Pleasantly surprised how good this place was. Not a typical Hong Kong style dim sum menu, had more of a DinTaiFung style Shanghainese menu with a sweeter taste. This was a great place to take the family. We ordered the chicken, pork, and spicy pork dumplings. They were all excellent. The scallion pancake was not as impressive, though--it was pretty greasy. I should have asked for more napkins to soak up the oil, but still, the flavor wasn't all that either. We asked the waiter if the wontons had shrimp in them and he replied, "No, it's only pork." Lies. As soon as my son bit into it, there was a hunk of shrimp in it--which was potentially dangerous as we asked in order to avoid FOOD ALLERGIES. So, that got tossed immediately. Other than that, I'd just stick to the soup dumplings. The beef noodle soup was tasty as well. The staff was very apologetic about the incident, we speak and understand Fukien, Cantonese, and Mandarin so we knew there was an innocent mix up in the kitchen by just listening to what they were discussing in the back. I would go again. No hard feelings. Just won't order the wontons if you have a shellfish allergy. We had exceptional food and superb service even on busy Mother's Day. Everything was good for the Chicken on a Stick and Scallion Pancake to great for Lotus Leaf. The Black Salted Egg Custard Bun was addictive. I had the Rice Cake with Seafood which was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The Orange Beef was great.
