This establishment is one of few Hotpot restaurants in Delaware. Although you have more options in Philly Chinatown, by the time you factor in sales tax and parking fees, you're better off visiting this place if you resides in Delaware. It is all you can eat at a set price. Pricing is competitive when compared to others and ones in Philly. The quality of cuts of meats is good. However, it does not offer premium types such as American Wagyu, nor imported Wagyu. They also offer a good selection on condiments and sauces. So if you have not had a chance to try out Hotpot, give this place a try

I enjoy creating my own hot pot dishes. So I go on Sundays and enjoy myself. It's fun and healthy. I love eating my green vegetables I get to experiment with different flavors. Lots of different meats. (Serf & turf meats like lamb & shrimp, clams, even duck feet), with different sauce combinations (peanuts, oyster sauce, hot chili oil, black bean sauce, garlic and cilantro and more.) It's fun to share a pot as well. So give it a try. Be creative. : )

Stopped in for dinner checking out the local eats in the area that we are now residing in and glad to see that this was nearby. KungFu Hotpot during the week serves their selection of meats, fungus, seafood, veggies and starches for $23.99. I'm not sure if there is a price increase with a menu change during the weekend but the selection was pretty standard and catered to all our needs. Ordering from the IPad was fun for us both on our date as we were able to pick a selection of items while our double broth hotpot simmered to a boil. We opted for the tomato broth and a white cream based broth to mix it up a little bit. I enjoyed majority of the small clams in my soup while my boyfriend enjoyed his endless amounts of quail eggs. They had thin slices of lamb, beef and pork that I added to my noodles and ramen that I wanted to switch up in between bites. They did eventually limit the quantity of eggs per order but we just enjoyed chatting and catching up in between orders and bites. They had a sauce bar which is always a nice addition to add some flavor to our meals as the broth just serves to cook our meal. I always opt for a sesame based dip along with garlic for some more flavor. They did have a cold bar with cold chicken feet which I didn't try as I usually enjoy mine at dim sum all steamy and hot but maybe I'll explore that next time. With a cooler full of endless drinks, iPad with endless selections, the only thing missing was an endless appetite. But we definitely walked out happy and full.

My daughter found this place when we were traveling in this area. We never had been to a hot pot restaurant and this definitely did not disappoint. We were there for lunch and it was all you could eat for $23.99 including soft drinks - definitely a great value. We tried the beef bone broth and the spicy broth as well as the sliced chicken, sliced pork belly, spicy beef, assortment of veggies, eggs, and noodles. We loved the chicken, veggies and eggs!! We chose to cook one egg with the shell on and one with the shell off - both methods were great! The sauces were tasty, but ultimately I wound up eating the broth with my selections sprinkled with cilantro. This was such a great find!! We definitely enjoyed this experience! Our waitress was so helpful, explained the process clearly, and answered all of our questions with a smile!!

Love this place since the new ownership! Before it was pay per item, which was very tedious and usually gets super super expensive, especially since I am Chinese and know how to eat a lot for hotpot! Now, it is all you can eat for about $20ish/person, which is a great price!! For those who have never been, here are your instructions 1) This is individual style hot pot, where you will have raw food brought to the table and you cook items yourself in your hot pot (get it?) 2) AYCE for about $20 something/person, including meats, vegetables, noodles, etc. 3) When you get to your table, choose between regular beef, spicy beef, tomato beef or veggie broth. Afterwards the server will give you an iPad for things you can order. 4) Place all and whatever items you want in your cart, check out (and keep adding more throughout) 5) Go to the sauce station and make your own dipping sauce. Try my recipe: 2T soy sauce, 2T seafood sauce, 1T garlic, 1T green onion, 1T cilantro, 2T sugar, 2t sesame oil. Add spice if you want 6) When the food comes out, wait for your pot to boil, and cook away! Make sure to wait for the pot to boil if you put pork or chicken in it. 7) Enjoy! I love that it is individual pot, so everyone can eat their own meats, and people who have food restrictions can still come and join the party. They cut down some of their items sadly, like the fuzhou fishballs, which is a fishball that has meat in it, but no more! Overall, love this place, and will continue to come back often as my friends and I ALWAYS do, maybe once-twice each month

I love the sauce so much!!Dont forget to make ur owen dipping sauces, cuz they told me that's the important part of the hotpot. They also have the great service even though they are look like very busy.

Would a vegetarian find enough to eat here?

Yes! They have all kinds of veggies and noodles to add to the broth, I want to bring my in-laws (both vegetarians) here the next time they visit.

How much did you usually spend when you go?

For two people, less than $50 not including tip. I think dinner is $23.99 per person.

Is there a number we can call? The number on all the pages and websites says it's disconnected

We kicked things off with edamame - simple and exactly what you'd expect (hard to mess that up). From there, we shared the chicken soup dumplings, which were loaded with broth and seasoned chicken. I always wonder how they manage to make those, but that's a mystery for another day. The vegetable spring rolls came out hot and crispy. They could've used more filling, but the thin wrapper made them extra crunchy, which I liked. Surprisingly, the star of the show wasn't the dumplings - it was the fried rice. Something about it just kept me going back for more. I'm usually not big on rice, but even my daughter said it was, in her words, "obnoxiously good." We also tried bubble tea (my daughter ordered it for me), and it was my first time having one with a fruity flavor inside the boba - "slamming" is the only way to describe it. Service-wise, the staff and hostess were polite and attentive throughout. Overall, I'd give The Ugly Dumpling a strong 4 out of 5. FYI - when you hit the bathroom, make sure you grab the hand soap and not the mouthwash like I did. When you go, you'll see what I mean, lol.

I've been here 3 times now and most recently with my parents! This place has not disappointed me…read moreeach time I've come. It was pretty busy on Saturday when we went for dinner but we didn't have to wait too long and our food actually came out pretty fast. The service was as expected because it looked like 1 guy was serving all tables and he was literally running between table to table. I don't blame him for any waiting because he was busting his butt and we didn't really need to wait too long. We ordered a variety of dishes coming here but my favorite has to be the Homestyle Tofu or the Fish Filet. I would like to try more dishes next time. They give you quite a good amount of food for the price. Some places charge the same and give you much less. This place has authentic Chinese food with some common favorites that many of us also know (chicken with broccoli, lo mein, general tso's etc.) so there is something for everyone. There are vegetarian dishes available as well. If you're in the area and would like more savory, authentic Chinese food I recommend coming here!

Dinner for my party of three which is characteristically occurring either at 4:00 pm or 5:00 pm…read more(pending all three's physical presence together) we dined here on Independence Day 2026. Surprisingly Yi Pin is open and fully operational on a major federal holiday. The air conditioning is rather weak during our dining experience as I felt warm during the Northeast heat wave oppressive humidity continuous week. Condiments issued at the table were aged dark vinegar, green tea but not Matcha was complimentary served. My party only use aged dark vinegar as a condiment for dumplings. We have a predilection for mellow, malty sweetness of dark vinegar rather than the high salt content in soy sauce. Customer service is attentive and staff is fluent in Mandarin and English. Yi Pin is a Chinese restaurant that serves regional cuisine of Shanghainese and Szechuan province. It is what my party of three refer non-Cantonese, Guangdong province 外省人 ngoi6 saang2 jan4 (noun) outside province; foreign person. Ergo, staff does not speak Cantonese - neither rudimentary level. Price is extortionate high, but expected in 2026 stagflation era. I was able to obtain the sales receipt as keepsake. Asian melon hard candy is distributed with the bill upon meal completion which is industry standard for Asian restaurants and cafes. At the bottom of the sales receipt there is a suggested gratuity in intervals of 18%, 20% and 22% where customers do not have to perform math calculation. There is one large beautiful Japanese beckoning cat, (maneki-neko) which adjacent to the cash register. Business cards are available for grabs. There is a customer parking lot available. Beef noodle soup $15.95 The soup broth bubbles are very visible for the high level of cholesterol and fat content. I believe the cook or kitchen staff used and implemented MSG. This was a big setback leading to disappointment for my three Yelp stars. La mian wheat based noodles were embedded and sufficient. I enjoyed the La mian wheat noodles. Lo Mein chicken $12.95 It was stirred fried and abundant for excessive quantity. I did not consume any - neither one bite. It seemingly appeared very high grease and fat content for excessive oil. Shanghainese soup dumplings 6 pieces, $10.95 Pork steam soup dumplings siu2 lung4 baau1, 小籠包 tasted average, but not exuberant great to awaken my soul for sprightly liveliness. There were very minimal soup liquid inside the dumpling upon biting. I did ponder with hope and wonder during our wait for our food order arrival that these soup dumplings would be bursting with excessive soup liquid and flavor. It was not served piping hot as I am accustomed in NYC Shanghainese restaurant industry standards. These dumplings prepared by the cook(s) or kitchen staff at Yi Pin are egregiously appalling and insult to New York Chinese. I refused to apologize for being a native New Yorker. The dumpling skin tip where placing the serving tongs also tasted hard. Also another reason for my three Yelp stars.
