It's no coincidence there are so many reviews that include pets BLEEDING! This guy is absolutely atrocious and it seems like it's only a matter of time before he injures your pet while under his care. I took my black lab to him 3 times and he told me what most people that meet my dog tell me, "She's so easy to handle, she just stood there, she was GREAT!" So no problem right? Then appointment 4. Going to pick up my lab (who is a retired service dog just for reference) I was told that she damaged his hose and was extremely difficult. Baffled, initially I apologized and took her home, noticing her limping more than usual. (She has slight arthritis in her hind leg) I thought it was my imagination that she seemed to be favoring another paw. Safely home she lies down for a bit, when she got up it all made sense when I saw the blood stain on the carpet. This incompetent pet mercenary had cut her nails first, two of which he cut waaay too short nicked her vein and got increasingly frustrated when she no longer wanted him near her. I called back and left messages stating that I wanted to know why he didn't just take responsibility for making the kind of mistake a professional groomer shouldn't make. But he never called back. My vet confirmed my hypothesis and has also heard horror stories about this guy. So maybe you'll be fine 2-3 maybe even 4 or 5 times but he will make a mistake and hurt your pet and then blame you. read more

Brought my Siberian Forest cat in for a trim and wash. I emphasized I just wanted a trim and to keep his beautiful mane and fluffy tail intact. I stated- I want him to look the same, just trimmed down slightly. I also asked for his nails to be trimmed/filed. He came back with bald patches and his fluffy coat, mane and tail looks like a rogue weedwacker went over it. The form I completed specified a trim, not cutting inches of hair. His nails were trimmed so far down they bled and now I have to watch for a potential infection as he won't let me near that toe it's so sensitive. I will not be returning here! read more

My dog can't open his left eye because you cut him...that alone should be enough to stop reading. If you must, I asked for the ears to be cut shorter on my dog upon picking him up and the response was, "if I go any shorter, I will cut the leather." this statement can't be any more incorrect as every previous groomer has cut his ears shorter without issue. I highly doubt his ear leather has gained an inch since his last haircut. Also, some of my dog's nails did not get cut and his tail hair is still long for some odd reason. I took my beautiful, almost 2 year old, ragamuffin cat in for a grooming. My primary concern was matting. I filled out the form provided when I arrived, indicating that I did not wish to have any cutting/shaving done. I also discussed with the owner that I wished only to have my cat bathed, brushed, and have her nails trimmed. I dropped her off at approximately noontime and was told that the estimated pick up time was 2 PM. By 3 PM, I had not received any updates, so I called and was told by the owner that he was still working on my cat, and that another pet had come in who needed a lot of attention and that had delayed my cat's grooming. a few minutes later, I received a callback from the owner saying that he had found that there was matting around my cats tail, and that he was unable to remove the mats with brushing. We discussed the fact that I agreed to have the mats around the tail cut/shaved if necessary. I did not give my consent for any additional shaving or cutting. Around 4 PM I called back, and was told by the owner that my cat was ready to be picked up. When I arrived, I found that she had been completely shaved, including 2/3 of her tail, and even the fur on her face had been cut. All of her beautiful, silky white fur was gone. I was horrified. I informed the owner that I had not agreed to this, and he insisted that I had given my consent, despite our conversation, and what I indicated on the original form. Moreover, he charged me more than the original quote for the grooming, after doing exactly what I did not want to have done to my cat. Unfortunately, it was not until I had this awful experience that I read that others had had similar terrible experiences, and had their pets shaved without their permission. Moreover, when I picked my cat up, she seemed excessively groggy and not herself. I hope that by sharing my experience, I can prevent other pet owners from having this happen to their cats and dogs. read more

What a mistake! My wife and I dropped off our 5 year old long haired tabby cat to have her body shaved as she does every 8 weeks. When we picked her up she was unrecognizable. Her tail, legs and whole body were shaved except for the tip of her tail. You can see all the uneven shaving marks and her beautiful mane around her head was almost none existent. Her backside was still dirty and what fur was left on her tail had a big knot in it that i had to get out. I would not recommend Happy Paws to anyone. The groomer needs to go back to school to learn how to groom animals. If it was an option I would give him 0 stars read more

We have been going to see Ron at Happy Paws for over a year now. We brought our poofy pomeranian Penny to Happy Paws after quarantine. She was a mess! Ron was able to get her groomed up, get the matted hairs out, and really help her feel better. He is professional, good with time, takes the time to really work on the dogs. I like the fact that he has a paper you fill out ahead of time to check the boxes on what you want done to your dog. His shop is convenient to get to in Foxborough and his prices are reasonable! Much cheaper than the chains like Petsmart and Petco! He does a better job than those corporate places in my opinion! If I could give this 0 stars I would. Just a horrible experience. I brought my 1 year old sheepadoodle in to get groomed and get her mats removed. I dropped her off at 11 am, and picked her up just before 6 pm. When she was brought out to me, she was still wet and just as matted as when i brought her in, causing her to develop sores on her skin due to the matting. When I pointed out that he did not remove any of the mats, the owner shrugged and said "I did the best I could." If that was the best he could do, then he is in the wrong business! I wish i had never brought my dog to this groomer. Now i have to bring my dog to the vet to get her sores looked at. I would never recommend this place to anybody. EDIT IN RESPONSE TO RON: 1) I only mentioned one dog because the other one is a 5 month old puppy and, contrary to what you have stated, he had no mats. 2) You barely removed any mats, and when confronted, you tried to yank them out with a mat remover in front of me, hurting my dog and making her cry, which, in my opinion, warranted an angry response. 3) I brought her to the vet, and they told me that I am not the first owner who has brought their dog to the vet as a result of your services. read more

If you're looking for a groomer, keep looking. Honestly. Worst experience ever. My dog is traumatized. I'm traumatized. First of all, my doodle was there from 8am until after 6pm. Second, he was not only cut, but had multiple bloody GASHES on his stomach from shears. Third, his nails were cut too short and I had to bring him to Tufts to have them cauterized! My boyfriend took his cat here to be groomed this week and no lie she looks like she has Thor's haircut in Ragnarok, all uneven and can see the strokes of the clippers. To make matters worse, one of her paws was bleeding when he picked her up, somehow she was cut during her session. Her nails were cut too low and she has a few sticky spots that clearly weren't cleaned properly. First and last visit for us. Our vet (who also grooms thankfully) will be fixing her this week. When I dropped my dog off, I was given a specific time to pick up my dog. When I showed up to pick up my dog, Ron hadn't even started my dog's grooming. I understand things happen, but he was the only dog in the entire place! Then, Ron told me to come back an hour later and when I came back, an hour later, Ron was sweeping the floors and left my poor dog crying in the back!!! I waited an additional half hour and my dog came out wet, with a totally uneven haircut. I had to go home and take my own clippers to try to even him out (which was not possible because Ron gave him a butcher job). I had additionally asked Ron to NOT shave my dog down and that is exactly what he did. My poor dog looks awful and we will definitely not be coming back. read more

The worst groomer ever. Do not take your dog here. He made me sign a paper of how I wanted the dog. I told him Not to cut her eye lashes tale and ears. He did not listen to one word I told him. DO NOT GET YOUR DOG GROOMED HERE!!!! If I could give negative stars I would. This self proclaimed groomer has a one size fits all approach to grooming, he shaves every dog and wishes for the best. My girlfriend and I brought our poodle there and we'll let the pictures do the talking. He gave our dog a high top and purposely missed certain spots throughout his hind legs, when we first pointed this out to him he insisted he wasn't done...it had been 6 hours by this time and he had called three times. He claims every single dog is "matted" and tried to justify it. He really has NO IDEA HOW TO GROOM A DOG!! I will be reporting him. Also another thing this guy does he brings you into the back to explain his "haircut". (The back of his shop is dirty and unsanitary and just looks like a place where a dog could easily be hurt. He would tell her to come back and then explain why the dog wasn't ready, after four visits in one day he called and said to pick him up. When we went to get him, he claimed my girlfriend asked him to do this when she was visibly upset every single time and telling him to just fix the cut and even on the final time when we pointed out the tins of random patches he tried taking out dog again to adjust. Ron did a really amazing job with my Aussie mix dog. Did a great job de shedding (couldn't believe all the hair), trimming her, and getting her nice and clean. Was able to book me for the next day which was great. Liked that she was able to walk around in the general area and wasn't caged the whole time. It's a smaller run business so I know she wasn't neglected because there were only a few dogs at a time. No burn marks from razors as she's gotten at other places. Ron was very accommodating and the price was fair. Took a little longer than expected, but was very happy with the outcome and understand based on all the hair he removed from her undercoat which was time consuming. Will NEVER use this groomer again!!! My cat has never had an issue with grooming. In 9 years he has never had any health issues it was so scary when I brought him home his breathing was bad he was in shock he was like a zombie. I had to rush him to emergency vet and paid almost $2,000 in bills to get him back to normal. When I called to find out what he did if he drugged my cat he said no but then mentioned my cats breathing was weird during bathing that he just thought the cat had asthma really? He obviously was not concerned if he was knowing my cat was as sick as I informed him if he cared a follow up phone call of hows your cat would have soften my angry. My cat ended up with pneumonia (assuming he inhaled water during bath hence the "weird" breathing he mentioned). Plus to my horror they had cut his whiskers causing him trauma. If i could rate this 0 stars i would. I dropped my English Golden Retriever off at 11am, they said it would take 4 hours for just a wash, and groom. I agreed and went home. They never called me so i went back at 5 pm. I walked in to see three dogs all at different stations. There was only one worker doing all these different tasks. The man came to me leaving the three dogs in the back UNATTENDED, they could have easily fallen off the tables and hurt themselves because they were hooked up. My dog was there for 6 hours and was only halfway done with the cut, he soon informed me he didn't even give her a BATH yet! My poor dog was sitting in this building for 6 hours with NO ac and not a drop of water. Furthermore, my dogs cut looks awful. She has long luscious fur which was all SHAVED off. I asked for a trim/cut not a poodle shave. I asked to just take her because i didn't want her to be in this building any longer. My dog then proceeded to fall off the very high table, i have never heard her cry in the 9 years of her life until this day. I will NEVER come back again. This 'shop' should not be called a 'day care' it's in a garage with ladders everywhere and looks like it should not have passed inspection. My dog was genuinely mad at me and wouldn't listen to me for 2 days.... To recap, my dog sat in this hot garage for 6 hours to only get half cut with no water and proceeding to be left unattended and also later falling off the high table. Never again. Never again. No dog should be treated like this, or any animal for that matter. Please take this review in consideration before scheduling an appointment here! read more
