Carlene took the time to take us early so she could have extra time with our pup and make sure he had a successful experience. I decided to wait for the appointment, but when I arrived today, she told me I wasn't on her calendar. What was most disappointing was that she never apologized, made any effort to look into what happened, or offered to reschedule. Instead, she was dismissive and rude throughout the interaction. Even though the mistake was clearly on her end, she showed no concern for the inconvenience it caused. I was shocked by the lack of professionalism and customer service. Unfortunately, this was a very negative first experience, and I would not recommend this groomer based on how the situation was handled.

Whenever we walk in we are kindly greeted and whoever is at the front desk will go get Amanda for us without even needing to ask! I was bringing him to the vet for his nails for a while but it was very inconvenient with their business hours and honestly the vet even struggled with him. I ask him if he wants to go play with the doggies, and he jumps up and down and races to get in the car! A couple of years ago, I added a small min pin to our menagerie and wasn't sure how he'd do with so many other dogs, but he also loves going. The staff is genuinely affectionate with the dogs. My dogs always greet the staff with wagging tails and get lots of petting and attention. Amanda does a really great job not only looking after them but with their bathing and grooming. Extremely Disappointed - No Patience for Puppies or Professionalism…read more Honestly, this has been the worst daycare experience I've ever had--and I work at a vet clinic, so I'm familiar with the standards of care and behavior management expected around animals. On just my puppy's second half-day, I received a call saying he was being kicked out due to "anxiety." He's a 5-month-old puppy, still learning, and yes--he chews, like all puppies do. Instead of redirecting that behavior or giving him any sort of chance to adjust, the manager claimed he was "destroying property" by chewing the fence and decided he was not a good fit. I was told he was pacing and not playing with other dogs. But pacing doesn't necessarily mean anxiety, and he has never shown signs of anxiety in the month we've had him. In fact, during his first visit, the staff said he was sweet, well-behaved, and even called him their favorite. So which is it? It felt like a complete 180 overnight--with no attempt to work with him, redirect behaviors, or help him settle in. Puppies need time, patience, and structure--not to be written off after one or two short visits. The experience leads me to believe that the staff, especially the manager, may lack the proper training or understanding needed to support puppies still in their developmental stages. I truly hope they consider additional training in animal behavior and communication--because right now, it seems more about convenience than care.

Simon (my Shih-tzu) walked willingly to the room where he was to be made beautiful . I was relieved to see Simon so relaxed. The place and the folks working there have a good vibe. Much to my surprise, Simon was washed, groomed and dried in a couple hours. I came back to get him. HE WAS BEAUTIFUL . I'm fearful that giving this place a fantastic review will make it hard for me to get future appointments, but I have to! A wonderful place with people who are clearly dog lovers. My problem is that I was just charged $100/hr for my dogs groom. Because she needed to be careful around his mats. I mean, I consult and have an hourly rate which doesn't change based on the task I'm doing. It's the nickel and diming here that gets its star rating. At least at other groomers, you know how much to budget for a groom. Update on comment- the signatures you asked for that I didn't read as it was a sign now experience (like at the doctor)? Also, an hourly rate is an hourly rate. Good luck finding clients who will go along with a quote and then an increase at payment without prior notice. You've already lost two clients like this.

When I made my dogs appointment for grooming I called the dedham location. Once booked, they never…read moreinformed me that the location I called doesn't do grooming and that I'd have to go to their other location in Jamaica plain. I drove 30 minutes to get to the Durham location just for them to tell me that I have to drive 30 minutes in the opposite direction. When I arrived at the correct location, the lady who I spoke to about how I wanted my dogs haircut to look seemed a bit ignorant like she knew nothing about dog haircuts. I showed her a picture of how I wanted my dog to look. They also said that they don't brush dogs teeth which is odd. Never been to a dog salon that doesn't brush the dogs teeth. We were originally told it would take 2 hours and it took almost 3 for my dog to be done. Upon picking up my dog, the lady behind the front desk told my sister and I that the groomer is new and only has under a YEAR of experience. Why wouldn't they tell me that prior to getting my dog groomed? I don't want a rookie to give my dog a botched haircut(which she did) but by this point it was too late. Also, when entering the store, it smells horrible like mildew. My dog came out, his hair choppy and the final result didn't look anything like the photo that I showed the lady( she took a picture of what I showed her so there shouldn't have been any confusion) The sweater I had him wearing was covered in fur, as if they cut his hair with the sweater on. I had to request my leash and collar back from them. Anyways, the people behind the front desk were sticking their faces in front of my dogs face so that he could lick them, letting them kiss their mouth which is honestly gross and not something I want to see. Overall, unhappy with how my dog turned out. Will not be returning.

Tessa has friends at Tails in Boston and always comes home exhausted after playing with them all day. Their overnight staff are so kind and make sure she is comfortable, even though she is not used to sharing space with other animals at night time. We are really excited that Tails is expanding to Dedham - we just tried it out today and will be returning soon! Thank you to all of the staff, Tessa is a really lucky dog :)
