Leaving my annual review update for my favorite groomers/ people! I just can't believe it has been over 10 years since I first brought my rescue Puffy and they so generously groomed her after she was neglected for so long. I still can't believe they took us on a busy Saturday. I still can't believe they were so patient with her. And I still can't believe that I had to fight them to take my money! Having them take care of my own baby who they never made stay in the crate because i spoiled him and so he hated them. And who they opened up early for to do his last grooming before he passed. To now caring for my new baby Barron and he looking like a million bucks every time he leaves! A poodle with parents that don't comb/ brush him as they should... and squeezing us in when they can because busy is not the word! Honey if you groom like they do, care for one's fur baby like they do and are affordable in this day and age of gouging grooming salons - you simply stay busy. As they should! I'm so proud of their growth and the relationships they form with their customers and most importantly their furry clients. I drive over an hour to get to them. And when I travel or they are booked my poor baby has to get Mom's bad in between face cutting BUT I refuse to go anywhere else. Ever. Just not worth it. Michelle is the best groomer! She has done 5 of our dogs for over 10 years! She loves our 16 year old yorkiepoo, Nico, & takes extra care because he's a senior. We rescued a puppy mill dog that was just dirty. I called & Michelle said bring her now. She stayed extra to treat her special. You don't trust the fur babies with just anyone. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR DOGS SAFETY, PLEASE READ THIS. On November 14, I dropped my dog off for grooming at 12 PM and didn't pick him up until 4:30 PM. I called during the appointment and was told he was anxious which was causing the delay, but no one ever contacted me to say he was struggling, and nothing was mentioned at pickup. The next morning, I discovered popped blood vessels in both of his eyes. When I went back to ask about it, the groomer ( I believe his name was Carlos ) said he hadn't noticed the injuries until I pointed them out and told me there was 'no need' to take him to the vet. I took him to the vet anyway. The veterinarian confirmed the injuries were caused by extreme stress, and my dog is now experiencing heightened anxiety and requires Trazodone for future appointments. If a dog is stressed, fearful, or in pain, the groom should stop and the owner should be notified immediately. That did NOT happen here. I would not return. read more

Highly recommend this groomer. They've done a beautiful job on our Golden Doodle, Michi. His teddy bear haircut is perfect. They are gentle with him, and the service is outstanding. And with all of that, their prices are so reasonable. read more

dont know what to do without them.. my dog Penny pulls me thru the door she has no fear because of the way shes treated there and shes calm and mellow and that means a lot. love all of the staff there they can't be any nicer to me. my dog is very very special to me being she came from a shelter in Georgia special means happy pet tails to me. they r sooo accommodating and very understanding. Worst costumer service. Impossible to get an appointment. This place does not answer their phones and do not return calls either. They cut my dogs nails to short and cut her skin open. my dog was bleeding all over the place when brought home. Another time my dog came home with a tick on her chin. I questioned one of the employees about the sanitation of the cages and got a lame response. Needless to say, not bringing my dog back to this place. Finding another groomer. read more

I brought my cat in to get his nails trimmed and I was able to walk in and wait. They were great. I was able to wait and watch through the window. Carlos and his co worker were done in 5 minutes. They were able to get my cat in and out of the carrier with out a problem. ( and my cat does not like the carrier) The pricing was excellent. They were very nice. I'll be going back again. I will NEVER bring my dog back to this horrible place. If I could give it no stars I would. Mike the "manager" handed me my dog with a bloody ear after looking stoned out of his mind. I knew my dog was a little matted due to Covid and not being able to get an appointment for three months. So when I saw the bloody ear, although nothing was said to me when I was handed my dog with a bloody ear,I understood because of the virus and being busy during this crazy time. After a week my dogs ear began to turn black and then eventually fell off. My poor doggy. The pain he probably went to at this groomer who I left my little Maltese with and TRUSTED! I contacted the " Manager Mike" who denied the whole thing and said he would never do such a thing. The owner of the company then called me denying everything and saying if her dog came home from the groomers with a bloody ear she would have taken it to the vet. EXCUSE ME?! After further investigating this company I saw that a couple years back they got shut down for a while for having tons of guns and pounds of marijuana in the building. DO NOT TRUST YOUR PRECIOUS PUPPIES WITH THESE DISGUSTING HORRIBLE PEOPLE!!!!! They can't even admit to what they did to my poor dog. DISGUSTING HUMANS. If you care about your animals please I beg you DO NOT bring them to this low class place. read more

Called and spoke to Mike. I wanted to make an appointment for two yorkie terriers. On the first call Mike gave me an appointment three weeks out and advised me of the proper documents that must be submitted (rabies vaccine). I told him it was okay to continue with scheduling the appointment but I was looking for something sooner and if anything I will call back to cancel. He said, if anyone cancels he will give me a call. I continued to contact other places and was able to get an appointment a week out. An hour later I contacted Mike and advised him that I would have to cancel since I was able to get an appointment sooner. He thanked me for calling back. A few minutes later Mike contacted me again and asked what date was I looking for, I advised him next Friday would be great and he agreed. I will update my review after the babies attend their appointments. So far great customer service. Today was the day of the groomers appointment and both of the babies look great! I called when I was outside and dropped them off by 9am and picked them up by 12pm. It's CASH only. I definitely recommend this place. read more

I called to take my Max here after he recovered from his neuter and they gave me a same day appointment, customer service was awesome ! I just wanted him cleaned up & they did an amazingggg job, he smelled GREAT , he was happy! They gave him a bath, cut his nails, cleaned up his face and private areas, cleaned his ears, brushed his teeth & I was a happy fur mama. The place is clean , has NO bad smell in it. Her hair always looks uneven, not done by a professional. But i finally found a place that i loved how she came out. And she was so happy when they brought her out which is a good sign. Took my dog here for a last-minute cut and when I picked him up he was so much more withdrawn and quiet. Although, there is no physical evidence of abuse my dog has always been outgoing before his visit here, now he's scared of water and flinches at the slightest of sound. There is nothing that can excuse what they probably do to their client's pets. Not a trustworthy business to take care of our furry loved ones. read more

I continue to love this place! Michelle is great with the dogs! Ace is so happy when he walks in to greet her! Enough to tinkle on the floor haha. As previously stated in another review whenever I pick him up he's roaming around playing with his buddies not locked in a cage. That's a huge plus for me. First time here today and I can tell you: this is IT! Michelle greeted us with big smile and worm heart. Our Haddie is usually shy and reluctant to play with strangers but when Michelle picked her up, she was sold. Haddie is a 7 yo Maltese Girl and she was groomed dozens of times, but she looks absolutely awesome after today's pampering: skin, nails, ears, teeth, eyes nice and clean. And one more very important fact, our appointment was at 12:30 and around 3:00 Michelle called. We got there around 3:30 and Haddie was already waiting by the door, wagging her tail and happily "saying": look at me :)) By the way, maybe I missed that part but I am pretty sure they don't put pets in cages or even have cages. This place was the worst ever. We went here and asked them to leave the body and head alone, but when we picked up our dog, he looked like a totally different dog because they buzzed his head after we asked them to leave his head and body alone since we take care of that. They put him in a crate, took cash only despite having credit card signs in the window, and kept increasing the price on us. Told us they would call us 15 minutes before the service was done, so our dog wouldn't have to go back into a crate, but then only called when he was done and back in a crate. His breath smelled as though they didn't brush his teeth, and his nails were jagged. Worst still, he has a cut on his underside. If you love your dog and want a groomer who has some skill, avoid this place. read more

We called a day ahead asking if she'll be open on Sunday and if we can make an appointment for nail cutting. The owner assured us that she'll be open at 10 and that no appointment is necessary. Nothing but high praise to the great staff at Happy Pet Tails, we've been going here for last 2 years or even longer after trying numerous other groomers, we've been very happy here. We have a stubborn & very nervous Miniature Schnauzer "Rex" but Mike always is able to make him feel comfortable and at ease and somehow is able to give him a great looking cut even though we know how difficult Rex can be. This place is amazing! The owners are friendly and are so patient with both of my dogs, Gracie and Maria. Maria is really not trusting and the owners both work with her and are extremely patient. I greatly appreciate that. The shop is clean, my dogs always look great and the prices are competitive. Although, this isn't too close to where I live, I will not stop coming here as long as I live in Bergen County. I definitely recommend this place for any fur baby parents! :-) read more

I've been bringing my 127lb Malamute here for months, Mike does SUCH a great job. Unlike other groomers, my pup is always happy to see him and vice versa. You know a loving dog person when you see one, which is why I believe Mike is fully capable of handling my extra large dog. On top of that, you cannot beat the price, it's cash only, but that downside doesn't affect you if your not a lazy person to stop and withdraw at an ATM. Included in the package is a bath, nail trimming, and he also de-sheds my insanely hairy mal. It's as good as it gets. I highly recommend this spot to any dog owner. read more
