I asked for spicy mustard, yellow mustard, relish, and the hot dog well done. He explained to me they cannot do the hot dog well done. It just comes one way so I said okay. But not happy by that but I did accept it. I got the hot dog and quickly noticed that while it was tasty, there was no spicy mustard on it as I asked for specifically. I brought it back to the ordering area and asked the male teenager about it. He told me it's on there. I'm like, "Okay I do not see it and I do not taste it so I must be getting old." I realize it's hard to hire good employees these days and especially during the summer we have a lot of college and high school kids serving in these places but come on, there's no need to lie. And also by saving a few pennies on spicy mustard or adding some additional that you can actually see if he did in fact put any on. It's not going to kill him and he's not going to be out of a job and the place is not closing down. I'll give it another chance in the future but again I don't eat junk food like hot dogs and hamburgers often so it'll be a while. I will continue to come here on occasion for the ice cream but again on occasion because hot dogs and hamburgers are in that junk food category in my mind. However on the ice cream side I do highly recommend Brewster's. Good choices including vegan non-dairy versions, which I usually get. It was a hot day outside but this location has tables with umbrellas over them to shield you from the sun. It also has a decent area in the afternoon where the sun is behind the restaurant and the front is shaded naturally so that's a good thing.

If you order the Beef Wellington, I have one recommendation: ask them NOT to cut it in half before serving it. They cut mine open, and as you can see in the picture, it looked absolutely amazing and juicy. Unfortunately, once it was cut, the juices ran out of the beef after a few bites, and the meat started getting a little dry. I think it would be much better to receive the Wellington whole and cut into it yourself, starting at the end so you keep those juices inside the meat. The egg roll was very good, and the salads that came with our meals were also excellent. The dressing was especially good. I do think the Wellington could have been even better with a demi-glace or another good sauce on the plate. The beef itself was excellent, but a good sauce would have taken the dish over the top. Our server was very pleasant, but she wasn't as attentive as we would have liked. I'm not sure if that was because we were placed upstairs, but we could have used refills on drinks quite a bit earlier than we received them. Since we were the only people upstairs, we had to wait for her to come back up to check on us. Still, she was very nice, and I don't want that to take away from what was otherwise a very good experience. Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner at Bistro 71. The food was very good, the upstairs dining area was comfortable and quiet, and the Beef Wellington was definitely the highlight for me. I'd order it again--just next time, I'm keeping that Wellington whole until I cut into it myself!
