Very sad this location is closing on 21 DEC 25 because the landlord of the property sold the property. This Perkins has long been a great source for good food at a reasonable price. The ambiance was as good as the food. The service was usually good as well. The diners nearby cannot replace Perkins. In the recent past 3 years, they have shifted more and more to places that reheat frozen, tasteless and less healthy frozen "food." I sure hope the Perkins franchise owners will reopen in a new location nearby but have my doubts given Perkins' financial situation nationwide. So, I end this review with a big thank you to all those who worked at Perkins for the years of giving us good food at good prices at a good location. Service is 5-Star Our server was extremely attentive and friendly. The menu selections are fantastic, very nice menu options for everyone. Our food arrived hot and well presented. My only complaint was the Smoked Sausage on the breakfast plate, the consistency of the meat was not appealing. Pancakes were killer with linked sausage. The booth was clean as well as the carpets, it's always nice to enjoy a meal in a clean environment. My husband had a doctor appointment in Chambersburg this morning. On the way back, we decided to stop at Perkins. The service, our waitress, was so very nice and friendly. The food was served very hot, was delicious and displayed very nicely as well!!! We would stop there again!!!! read more

We were told there was a 15 minute wait when we arrived. Yet they just set the people that walked in at the same time as us. Then a couple walked in right behind us and they were also sat a table. When I asked why we are on a wait when everyone else is being seated she said that server must not know and is just seating people. I will just seat you. So she took us to a table that is clear drenched in water and not dryed off. After the service to just get a table not worth waiting to try to eat so we left. read more

Solid breakfast here at Perkins. Cheese omelet and fried potatoes with toast and a gallon of coffee. I do like the carafe of coffee on the table so that you don't have to wait to catch someone's eye for a refill of your cup. And there's three or four cups in the carafe. Clean restaurant, clean table and even a clean bathroom. Free wifi worked well. read more

Horrible, horrible service. Place is all but empty and still had to wait over 5 minutes for the greeter. Dat down and waited another 5 minutes for our waiter. Wasn't very friendly. Brought our food but never came back to check to see how it was or a refill. Didnt see him again until he laid the check on the table and kept going. Never asked if we wanted anything else. This is the second time I tried this location and the service has been bad both times! However this was the worst. I am not coming back and strongly suggest that none of you patronize this business either. read more

This place has an extensive breakfast menu so my boyfriend and I decided to try it. When we entered it was really crowded with no where to sit to wait for a table. We were told there was a 15-20 minute wait so we opted to wait in our car. After waiting for over 20 minutes, we returned inside. The hostess told us she couldn't reach us by phone and tried calling several times. This made absolutely no sense to me because we tested my phone in the store and it worked just fine. We were promptly seated and it took some time for the waiter to arrive. The hostess ended up taking our order and the manager delivered our food. The ONLY thing our waitress did was drop off a pot of coffee without even speaking. We found the food and value to be fine. In the end, the manager asked us how everything was and overall, the customer service was just awful. Our waitress, Amanda was not only unfriendly, she did absolutely nothing so we didn't leave her anything as a tip.Needless to say this was our first and last time at Perkins. read more

Knowing Yelp's propensity for sliding really good reviews into the "not currently recommended" box if they're too good, I'm a bit hesitant to say too much, but this IS genuine. My husband, daughter and I stopped in to the Chambersburg PA location last night on our way home to South Carolina from New Jersey. The staff was friendly and attentive, multiple servers stopped by our table to check on us. Our personal server, Kenz, was awesome, cute, and personable. Food came quickly and was really good. Reviews I have seen about other Perkins locations were mostly complaints. This is the first time in 15 years I have been to a Perkins Restaurant, only because most of the places where I have lived didn't have one close enough. I stopped in for breakfast and was happy I did. I ordered the country steak and eggs with hash browns and gravy. It was delicious. The country steak was breaded and fried perfectly and the eggs were over easy and was very flavorful. The hash browns were fried and had gravy over them. The waitress was very friendly and did her job very well. The restaurant was clean and had a good amount of customers in for a Tuesday morning. I will definitely be back again and can't wait to try something else I've never had. Great job Perkins! read more

I've been here for breakfast twice recently. Mainly, I want to go there for the coffee and the Mammoth Muffins. Their coffee is amazing. It's strong but not super strong and very smooth. Not at all bitter. The muffins are amazing, and huge. I've had the apple cinnamon and the blueberry, both incredible. I like that Perkins offers a smaller breakfast option menu, because if you're getting a muffin, you don't need much else! They have a huge menu, really, and lots to choose from. Their bacon is amazing, too. I will only eat super crunchy, super well-done bacon and they've nailed it. Not limp. Perfect. I don't know that I'd get anything but dinner here, although my mom had a BLT and adored it. Full of that awesome bacon, so I'd certainly give that a try. Some meals are a bit pricey, but if you order off of the "value-style" menu insert, you can do fine, especially if you don't want a mound of food. But really, it's mostly about the muffins, coffee, and bacon! As for the interior, it could use a little sprucing up. It's mildly dated, and looks a bit old. Just kind of faded. Close it for a day, deep clean and maybe a little paint and it could look a lot better. Upgrade a few things, too. But, overall it's not like it's bad or anything. read more

We were seated right away but unfortunately had to wait a long time before we were greeted by our waitress. Fortunately, the waitress apologized for our wait and provided excellent service for the rest of our meal (could be the hostess didn't tell her we were seated or she didn't realize we sat in her section). The breakfast we had was delicious and came out quickly. My boyfriend really liked his wrappin' granny (breakfast burrito) that came with tater tots and the yummy cheese dipping sauce. I had the lemon blueberry pancakes which came with eggs and a choice of meat. The pancakes were amazing - so good that I didn't need to add syrup on. Looking for a place that is quick and inexpensive? Perkin's could be for you. This is an example of "corporate" that works. The location is a little strange--a very difficult to maneuver parking lot! But the food is good, the service friendly and it's clean. Today I had their tortilla bowl chicken salad. The veggies were crisp and fresh. The chicken was flavored nicely. Our server, Kelly, was very efficient and cheerful. She was waiting on several tables and she was keeping everyone happy. We also took home some of the excellent muffins for breakfast tomorrow. We were for a place with a varied menu. We could have had anything from breakfast to their dinner menu, even have a senior section. This place fit for us . .One of us had Mushroom and Swiss grilled chicken breast, the other had the chicken pot pie. Both of us found our meal very good. My other post was deleted and my request for the corporate office had been ignored. ...The manager Kathy here had been awful. She threatend to write my fiance up if he did not pick up a Sunday shift ( he already got approved to have Sundays off to go to church). When he pointed out about another employee leaving with a check hanging for 10min and leaving nothing prepped this same manager told him that if he didn't like it he could wait til she got back from orientation than quit. ....when she got back she showed him his schedule change...he went from 34 hours to 22 .... He had done nothing to warrant his hours being cut... He was always told what a great cook he was and got compliments from customers. This manager has made him dread coming to work and he called off a few times... He had his last job at a more popular restraunt chain for over 6 years with no problems or write ups etc. It truely takes 1 horrible manager to bring the whole store down. My fiancea had also been a manager several years ago....never would he treat an emloyee with such little respect!!!! read more

The breakfast here is okay. Not the best I've ever had but it is a good selection. The service was wonderful. The waitresses and hosts are very kind and considerate of the guests and they make sure they have a great experience here as well. If you plan to go to this restaurant for breakfast, i recommend the cheese omelet with home fries. read more

Have breakfast here almost every Saturday, mainly stick with the sausage biscuit platter because its just so good. lunch is always solid as well. Never had a bad meal managers are great and the employees go out of there way to be helpful. Recommend to everyone! read more
