I don't know what changed, but while Seattle Pet Pals helped us very much when our dog was a puppy, we found that they weren't really equipped to handle that many dogs. Tim and Ruth were great and attentive with our dog, but their one other employee was lacksadaisical in the extreme when it came to showing up on time or walking the dog further than the end of the block. We have a very large, very happy dog and their employee was either not physically capable of working with him or didn't. Several times we got reports of the employee merely standing outside letting the dog use the bathroom, then hurrying to the next appointment after smoking a cigarette. Seattle Pet Pals gets two stars because while Tim and Ruth themselves are dedicated, honest, good workers with animals, they had an employee who got caught short changing our dog for the service they provided. When we brought it up, we were told that was the only employee they had and they simply couldn't provide service without them. At that point we regretfully had to terminate service - but not after our dog had sat in his own feces for six hours one day in his crate because their employee hadn't walked him for more than five minutes. In this case, it's simple subtraction - I give a place five stars. One star subtracted for the crate incident. One star subtracted for the employee who failed to provide service. One star subtracted for the service's unwillingness to listen to their customers. The simple fact is that Tim and Ruth are great people with dogs and this situation may have been avoidable from our end as well; but we simply could not trust their employee to do more than let the dog out for five minutes instead of the thirty-minute walk we had contracted for.

This makes it incredibly difficult to leave her with a regular boarding service or at those fun-looking, ranch-type places. The Answer: We found Seattle Pet Pals and knew immediately that this was the place we'd been looking for. Tim was perfectly thorough on our first phone conversation and asked all the right questions. He inquired about her demeanor, character, socialization, training, allergies, etc. Upon pickup, Ruth was very tuned in to our girl and all of her quirkiness. You could tell Ruth was a professional dog trainer in the way she interacted with our pup. What I most appreciated was how she allowed time for our puppy to feel comfortable and relaxed, even if it took 35 minutes. The Parents: We actually enjoyed our vacation! We were as worry-free as we knew how and are so happy that we have finally found THE PLACE ... after 3 long months of trial & error!

The pup couldn't go to the dog park (no recall) or be left outside alone (he's a digger). Company was out of the question. He was so reactive to people and noises that we couldn't even open our curtains. And he was not at all food motivated, which made any kind of training a challenge. The three other trainers we worked with had not solved our worsening problems, and we had given up. Taking care of our beloved but reactive pup had become a lifestyle. Luckily for us, one day our vet recommended Capable K9. It worked beyond what I had even hoped for. Two months later, walks are fun, we can have company over, we can leave the dog outside, and we have great recall. The dog is more relaxed and happy, and we are too. He comes home tired and with a huge smile on his face. He has made great buddies there and it has been amazing for his socialization. He loves the staff, when I drop him off he doesn't even look back, he's just ready for his day with his besties. I have total peace of mind when he is there, the staff and owner Pascale are all so caring, attentive, engaging and experienced. If I've ever had a question or concern they have addressed it in a timely manner. They went above and beyond recently when my dog ate a little mushroom he found outside. They caught him in the act, rushed him to the vet, brought a sample to make sure it wasn't anything harmful, and all at their expense. He was totally fine, and I can't express how grateful I was that they took it so seriously and were swift with their response. When I say total peace of mind, I mean it. I can't recommend this place enough! Oh, and it's super convenient for pick up and drop off in West Seattle. Just an all around great place.

Our sitter, Robin, took excellent care of our fur baby while we were away for about a week over Thanksgiving. I LOVED receiving the photo updates and cute descriptions of their visit. They definitely made me feel more comfortable, and I was confident that our cat was being well taken care of. Our sitter also went above and beyond by vacuuming the litter box area and removing all trash on her final visit. The client portal is very user-friendly and well designed. Customers are easily able to schedule their services, and the site allows for customization of the visit length and time. Staff also respond to requests or send pet-updates through the portal which get sent directly to your email. You can also see exactly when your sitter arrived / left. I'd also like to point out that the prices are very reasonable. Yes, there is a small holiday fee (7$ for me at least). Even so, my total came out to be considerably less than I was quoted with other services so I was able to splurge for some extra play time for my kitty.
