Within a month stitches on my pants started coming off. I brought it back to them asap, and they were wanting me to pay half of the original price to fix it. Fact that it did not last a month for the price I paid and on top of that not owning their poor quality of work is what made me write this review. Can't stress enough quality of their work is sloppy and unprofessional.

I dropped off two dresses on July 31 for minor alterations and was given a completion date of August 8. I stopped by on August 7 by mistake and was told they would be ready the next day as scheduled. When I returned on August 13, two days before my event, the dresses still had not been touched. I had made it clear both when I dropped them off and when I stopped by on the 7th that my event was August 15. When I handed over my ticket on August 13, the first response was essentially, "I'm usually behind," which was frustrating considering they were already five days past the promised completion date. She offered to complete the alterations in an hour while I waited. When I politely asked whether there would be a discount because of the delay, her attitude completely changed. She became rude and told me I could take the dresses somewhere else, stating that her labor was already cheap. At that point, no labor had even been performed. Being busy or running behind is understandable, but repeatedly accepting work with promised completion dates you cannot meet, and then becoming rude to a longtime customer for questioning the delay, is unprofessional. If you are consistently behind, it may be better to stop accepting additional orders or give customers realistic completion dates. Unfortunately, after more than five years as a customer, this experience was enough for me to take my business elsewhere.

I've never had to have anything altered before...until I purchased my wedding dress. The seamstress where I bought my dress was way out of my budget and their alteration times were a minimum of 4-6 weeks. I had to have my dress altered but was concerned that it was going to cut too close to the wedding and cost me a fortune. I contacted Happy Tailor and they were SUPER NICE!! They helped me get into my dress and found out what I needed to have done. They gave me a timeframe of a week! And the price was extremely reasonable! I went back a week later and the dress was ready, as promised. I wanted to have the hem a little shorter, so they told me one more week. I picked up my dress today, exactly one week later, and I couldn't be happier! My wedding is in 3 weeks and I don't have to worry about whether my dress will be the way I want it or if it's going to break the bank. THANK YOU, Happy Tailor!!! You turned a potentially stressful situation into an easy and appreciated experience! I'll definitely return for any future alterations and will refer anyone else that may need any, as well!! read more

Absolutely terrible experience -- rude, unprofessional, and completely dismissive. I came in with a very simple request: I wanted my dress shortened from the front only, keeping the back longer to create a tail. I explained this multiple times, but the tailor refused to listen. She kept insisting it had to be shortened all at the same length, completely ignoring what I was asking for. When I tried to explain again, she became visibly irritated, ripped the paper she was using, and told me she wasn't going to do it at all -- just like that. No courtesy, no respect, and certainly no professionalism. I ended up going to another tailor who listened carefully, understood exactly what I wanted, and did a beautiful job with kindness and patience. The staff at this first place were hands-down the rudest people I've ever encountered in a customer-facing business. Save yourself the frustration and go literally anywhere else. read more

I brought my prom dress here to be altered and they did an amazing job with it. When I got it back, it looked perfect and as if they hadn't touched it, despite having to completely remove the zipper to shorten the skirt and taking in the top. I was very happy with the finished product and would give them 10 stars if I could! Highly recommended for any job, no matter how big :) read more

Ping and her husband are so nice! And even in an ice storm was able to quickly and thoroughly alter my uniform. I love the way my uniform fits me now. It's tailored to my fit and flatters me nicely. This is my work uniform and I trusted them to a good job and they surpassed that, they did a superb job!! They were professional and very nice! Love this shop! read more

This place is in a small strip ofc Main. Super convenient! The weather this. Particular day was nice, so I stepped in easy breezy! I had one pair of slacks that I needed both shortened and made into slim fit. I was a bit worried because I needed a quick turn around for my engagement photos, but that worry was not necessary! The price was well below what I had expected or have paid elsewhere, and it was done in no time! Most of all, the owner/tailor so sweet, and at a tine where (safe) direct, in-person human interaction is at a minimum I appreciated it all the more.
