I'm pretty familiar Avon but Bela Vida is located away from all the other attractions, right next to a small fitness club. Bela Vida is such a beautiful space, there's positive words right outside the door. The beautiful plants all over the space made me want to stay. The natural materials made this place comfortable and relaxing. The menu of teas and protein shakes is the size of the whole wall. I decided to go with the Dirt Cake Lean & Fit Shake. I got mine in a medium size, which was a pretty generous size, and I realized I could have gone with a small. This was pretty chocolatey, but I could tell there was protein powder as the base. Well I knew what I was getting, so I wasn't so let down by the after taste. I will say this was my breakfast and lunch today. It was very filling and decently tasty. What I enjoyed a lot more than the shake it's self, is the space and the environment. It is a great space to be alone or with friends. I enjoyed reading parts of the book The Astrology of You and Me, they had on the little table. And the background music was a great counterpart. I plan to return here in the future and try something else.

Was out and about with the girlfriend and was looking for a place to have a bit of a snack. Found a…read moresmoothie snack not too far away from a coffee shop we decided to try. Place is very open, a single waist high counter and blenders. Ladies are friendly and knowledgeable in all the different boosted teas they offer. Not a tea person, so I opted for a protein shake. The tea was strong, tart but the fruit flavors were not strong enough to step on the green tea flavor. The protein shake was grainy but had a good flavor. Creamy, cold, and thick. They do topping as well but I opted against adding it. Price is on par for a shake place. They also have oat balls and other misc snacks. It's a pretty decent shake, and a very good tea place. A good option for tea if you're in the area.

My friend and I love açaí bowls. Last week when we got together we stopped by Liquid Nirvana in…read moreGlastonbury to get a couple of bowls. We were here once before a few years ago. We went inside. They have large boards with some inspirational words left by guests. They have some games and a few tables for seating. I decided to go with the Just Peachy bowl, this has peach, papaya, dates, banana, strawberry and coconut. My friend got the Tropical Paradise, hers came with açaí, almond milk, banana and blueberry. We waited for around 20 minutes for our bowls to be ready. Mine was a nice yellow color, topped with strawberries, banana and coconut. It looked absolutely delicious. I had my first bite, this tasted like nothing... I went for another spoonful, I couldn't taste the peach at all, or the papaya. All I could taste was a bit of the banana. I took my bowl to the register. There were three high school aged girls. I told them "hi I'm sorry, this isn't good at all. I can't taste the peach." Girl A, asks the other two, "who made it?" One of them raises her hand. "I did" I'm not sure why it matters who made it, the point is it isn't good. All three of them are staring at me. Girl B, says " I'm not sure why you can't taste the peach, we followed the recipe." They didn't do anything for me in regards to the bad tasting bowl. It got pretty awkward when they all stared at me with their arms folded. I sat back down, I was pretty angry. My friend shared her bowl with me, hers was really tasty, rich in blueberry and açaí, just as it should be. I will not be returning to this Liquid Nirvana again. I had about three spoons of my Just Peachy bowl, and my friend had one, just to confirm that it had no taste. The rest was sadly in the trash. UPDATE Since I wrote my review, the owner Rosy, has reached out and offered her sincerest apologies for the way that the situation was handled on my most recent visit to Liquid Nirvana. She said that she could see that some more training of the young people working there was necessary. She refunded my friend's credit card, who purchased our bowls, without me or my friend even asking her to do so. Her efforts to execute me a satisfied customer, were genuine and so much appreciated! I will for sure be revisiting the Glastonbury location and the brand new Farmington location. For the above reasons I am updating my review to 5 stars!

The space is spacious and bright, with adorable swing basket seats, as well a few other comfy seats. Each table has a little plant on it. There is also a beautiful wall of inspirational words. They have a large menu of all kinds of teas and shakes, be it fruity, nutty or chocolatey, they can make it. The lady workin here, I really wish I got her name, was super patient and kind, something tells me she might be the owner. She explained how the protein shakes are high in protein and fiber, while tasting delicious. I typically don't do shakes, because they're filled with sugar and other mystery ingredients. However, on the day I was here, I hadn't had dinner yet, and I was intrigued by the flavors they offered. I decided to get the Peanut Butter Chocolate Banana Bread, now that's a mouthful of a name. My shake looked so good, and it tasted even better. It was mostly chocolate, but it wasn't heavy, it was kind of airy tasting, there were tiny chocolate chips that traveled through the straw smoothly for an extra touch of sweetness. I couldn't really taste the peanut butter, but I could see it. This was a very tasty and totally filling protein shake. I just wish they offered a few size options, as it was just a bit too much for me. At Everlasting Nutrition you can also find locally made products, such as honey and soap for purchase. I really enjoyed my protein shake, I can't wait to try more of their menu.

Not what was expected, but not bad…read more Missus is on a dumpling kick, so we looked for some of the best dumplings we could find locally. Found this well reviewed shop close by, so we dropped in. The inside is very sparse, lots of stuff strewn around. It was lacking a lot of polish, but it didn't seem too sketchy. We ordered from the nice lady an order of dumplings, pirogies, and a couple of bao buns. Price was good, and food took about 15 minutes to cook but we did some trekking locally to waste time, We got our food, took some pics and dug in. The pirogies were for me, and I must say that they were not pirogies. It was mashed potatoes with cheese in a dumpling wrapper. The dumpling wrappers were fresh, but the dough was not what I expected. The potato and cheese was pretty good though. Didn't use a farmers cheese but did some type of white cheese. The bao were generic. They used the same filling as the dumplings as the bao filling. It really needed a sauce inside to help differentiate it from the dumplings. We also got a black sesame bao, but the inside was very watery and not appetizing at all. So we threw that one away. The owner is a very nice lady, and she's working hard to keep her place busy. It's clear that the stresses of the day keep her strained, but she does mean well enough. For those in the area, it's not a drive to destination. It's pretty good dumplings in a run down shop with an owner fighting to stay afloat. I would recommend going here if you want to support local, and don't mind a bit of grit. The dumplings are fresh, the pirogies are interesting renditions, and they do boba tea.

Venus nutrition is family run and I had the pleasure of meeting of one of the owners. When I went in today she was very helpful and helping me choose the shake that I wanted along with an energy tea because I hadn't had coffee yet either. They have a variety of standard shakes and also seasonal flavors. I went with the chocolate, covered strawberry, a standard favorite of mine, as well as the scoop of peanut butter powder as well. They have small, medium and large sizes with calorie counts between 200 and 500 cal depending on what size you order. It's a great way to get a nutrition shake when you're on the run and you don't have time to grab something more substantial. I'll definitely be back to try some of the other flavors. They also have a loyalty card which I grabbed because I live right down the road and I know I'll be back for more.
