I felt like I needed to come do this review. Happytail puppies is about an hour from where we live in NC so it was very easy to get to. We just bought a mini dachshund about 2 weeks ago. I was so skeptical after reading all these reviews and the ones on google and the negative ones almost scared us off. After all my research I almost didn't go with Happytail Puppies. Our puppy was born in Dec and I was wondering why in the world it was still there to be adopted on top of the bad reviews. We took a chance and so glad we did. We arrived to meet our Kovur (originally Lindy)and was put inside a small room and waited to meet her. You really don't get to see any of the facility other than this front room in this house and the outside as you walk to the front door. They brought Kovur to the little meeting room and she had the best personality ever! Playful, full of energy and with bows and a scarf on. We made the decision she would be added to our family. Paid and got all the paperwork and left. We got a vet appt the next morning. She checked out and was 100% healthy!!! Not one thing was wrong with her as of that vet appt. I couldn't be more pleased with this whole process with Happytails. And we took a chance, which was scary after reading all the bad reviews and it worked out for us. So just know, We had a great experience and would recommend them, especially if you looking for a mini dachshund!! Best addition to our family!
I am here to leave a review for two golden-doodle pups we got from here. We got Rocky, the black one, in 2017 and Cooper in 2018. We had a great experience and it's now been 7 and 6 years with our sweet doggies with no issues. They're doing great and are very sweet and friendly dogs. We did get both dogs appropriate puppy training near us, Proactive Dog Training in Cary was 10/10 wonderful.
So happy we worked with Happytail Puppies. Our consultant Brianna was very transparent and overall fantastic to work with. Edit: look like we were sold a sick puppy. Our dog has been pooping and urinating none stop on himself. We take him to the bathroom every 15-20 mins and he is still pooping and urinating on himself. We're so sad about this. When we got him we were told he has trichinosis, but no symptoms and given medication. The dog has SYMPTOMS after all. We also found out our Pup has a UTI infection.
I know you are probably looking at the reviews and the Better Business Bureau website and are nervous about getting a puppy from here. I get it; I was too, but I bit the bullet and got my precious baby. My little dog is absolutely amazing and adorable; she brings a smile to my face every day I see her. I wouldn't even have her if it wasn't for Happy Tail, so just do like me, get your dog, and start your new happy life. P.S.--I also had the best helper, who was taking care of my little Cavapoo. Brianna is amazing, and I hope you get her. She called me a few days after just checking in, making sure everything was good. You can really tell she genuinely loves her job and the puppies. P.S.S- Just look at her little face. How can you say no to that?
Please use caution. Read the reviews before purchase. It might save you lots of anxiety and heartache. There are so many things that just didn't set well with me from the beginning. I purchased a puppy online and then waited for some type of conformation or a phone call. It NEVER came. So then I called happy tails a total of 10 times with no answer. When I finally got someone on the phone I asked why the puppy I purchased was still listed for sale. (You would think it would have been removed from the website). I was told my consultant would call me back with all the details. Again, I NEVER received a call. So the next day I called back and finally was able to speak to someone. I set up an appointment to pick the dog up but asked for some pictures (as I was excited to get another puppy after the sudden loss of my other dog). I was sent a picture the next day. I was in shock at the dog I thought I purchased had changed in appearance dramatically. Happy tails really needs to keep updated photos on the website so people know exactly what they are purchasing. The dog was now 3.5 months old with an 8 week old photo on the website. I immediately inquired about grooming and sanitary conditions because the dog was filthy in the photo. I was told she was running outside all day and hadn't had a bath. She insured me that the dog would be groomed before pickup. That was a lie! That was also the last time I heard from my consultant. Someone else took over communication with me from there. My brother also purchased a dog and his consultant was talking to both of us at this point. When I picked the dog up she was disgustingly dirty and also soaking wet on her mouth, legs, and paws. And the worst part was she smelled of feces. So I immediately started looking and found matted feces in her fur on the back of the neck. I almost turned around and went back to happy tails to discuss this with them but I realized in that moment that this became a rescue situation. And I was not going to leave this poor dog in those conditions. Upon arriving back home (and getting out of the car) I noticed she was urinating very frequently, licking her area, and whimpering a lot. So I immediately called the vet to get her an appointment as I suspected a UTI. I couldn't get an appointment immediately because of the July 4th holiday so I had to wait. But once I got the dog into the vet they confirmed she did have a UTI. She's been given medicine to combat that but I didn't expect to have a sick dog. I was in contact with a consultant the entire time via email. The matted feces was never acknowledged actually completely ignored. Also I was told via email that UTI's happen when puppies are nervous and that they weren't held accountable for that after the dog leaves there care. I'm an avid dog lover and have multiple at home and have rescued quite a bit NONE a of them have ever had a UTI. Just do your research on how dogs get them and make your own conclusion. I'm not gonna get into that in this review. This experience has been terrible from the beginning and I don't wish anyone to have to go through this. So please read the reviews and make a decision about the company before purchasing. The poor dog is just happy to be loved and taken care of now. They should be paying people to take the dogs from them because they don't know how to properly take care of them.
Brianna helped me so much. On Father's Day this year I lost my fur baby Abby unexpectedly. I searched and found my Baylee. I waited for weeks to ensure she was the one. I kept getting drawn back to Baylee, her name was Lulu on the site. I eventually adopted Baylee this past Friday, October 7, 2022. She is my Baylee Bean!!! I want to thank Brianna for helping me through the process with adopting her and making her part of my family. I still love how Brianna has checked in with Baylee daily! I am so happy for Brianna and HappyTail!!! Without them I wouldn't have my Baylee!!! You are so AWESOME!!!!!

Review I lost both my dogs in 2023. It had been decades since I had been without a dog, and I was eager to get another one- a small breed. Several of my acquaintances had gotten their dogs from Happytail Puppies, so I contacted them. Cierra was a great help from the very beginning. From identifying the dog, to reserving her & picking her up, Cierra kept me informed of all developments. On December 10, I picked up my dog, and it was the best decision I have made in a long time. She received a clear bill of health at her puppy visit, and she is settling into her new life very well. This was my Christmas present to myself, and I am delighted. She is pure joy and sweetness.
We had the most amazing experience with Brianna from the beginning of our journey to the end. I fell in love with a puppy on the Happytail website. I spoke to Brianna, who was more than happy to set up a virtual meeting. I was hesitant to place the non-refundable deposit so I opted not too. Brianna never pressured me either way, she just advised the puppy could be taken before our virtual meeting. Unfortunately the first puppy was "reserved " by someone prior to our meeting. After a few days I found another puppy from the same litter. This time I placed a reserve on him, as I did not want to lose him. Brianna was so helpful every step of the journey from first meet to sending additional photos and arranging travel for our little guy. From the first day the travel nanny handed him to us it has been wonderful! He was so well socialized and slept in his crate with no effort from day one. He adores everyone and everyone adores him. He has been checked by our local vet and given a clean bill of health and is scheduled for neutering later this month. The microchip process was great and we ordered a tag with his name, Herbie! I would happily purchase another puppy from Happytail and would recommend them to any friends or family wanting to add a well socialized and fun furry family member.
I had searched for MONTHS for a rescue pup but because of my husbands allergies we had to have a hyper allergenic breed which are very hard to come by. After tons of research I found happy tails puppies and began to look into their pups. We fell in love with a photo of our Bishpoo/Poochon puppy and moved forward with reserving him. It's true they require a $200 (non refundable) deposit in efforts to weed out uncommitted puppy shoppers. But knowing that if after meeting the puppy we reserved, if we didn't love him or he wasn't the right fit the deposit will transfer to a future litter and give us "first pick" made total sense! Also, the depot goes towards the total cost of the pup. Leading up to bringing our puppy home our puppy consultant sent us photos of him, we got to facetime meet him, and spent over and hour chatting and getting all of our questions answered. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The location was easy to find, clean and orderly, and they gave us a folder with all of his history, vaccine records, vet information, and microchip info. Ozzy (our puppy) came home with us clean and groomed with a sweet bandana as well as puppy pads, some treats, and a bag of the current food he was eating. The only struggle we had was with communication. The puppy consultants are very "touch and go" and took days to respond to emails and return phone calls. I got to the point where I would just call multiple times during the day until I got someone on the phone. In the end, Amber our puppy consultant was helpful (once we could reach her) and answered all of our questions and made the experience smooth and simple. She also called to check on us multiple times after bringing him home to see how we were adjusting and encourage us as new puppy parents. I would definitely recommend happy tails to those looking for a new addition to their family!
Great experience from the beginning to bringing home Our new fur baby. Angel was great to work with. She has even called to check on her since we have been home. First vet visit went great no health issues with her at all.

So I paid for my dog and saw the reviews here and freaked out a bit. It was totally unwarranted. Communication with Angel at Happy Tails was great. She was responsive and helpful. They gave me a delivery date for my toy teacup maltipoo and everything went great. He arrived exactly when they said he would. He arrived clean, happy, and healthy with all of his paperwork and food. I took him to the vet the next day and they said he was in great shape, healthy, and had a great personality. He looked exactly like the photos and his personality is perfect. It seems like they likely represent multiple breeders given the volume of dogs they have on the site but my experience was great. read more

I bought both my fur babies here. Theodore I got in April and Eleanor in November. I love them. Both healthy, happy and full of life! No issues with either of them. Elizabeth is amazing. They were a little difficult to get ahold of at first. Tip: don't call the toll free number. Calling the regular number worked much better. They explained their process very clearly. Their prices were much better than what we found down in Florida where we live. And the puppy we brought home is happy and healthy and a complete delight! Their web site has lots of information, but their "adoption consultants" expect you to decide what you want on your own. So do a little independent research and go from there. If we decide we want another pup, we'll certainly go back to Happytail Puppies. read more

I highly recommend, Happytail Puppies! My experience with Chrisna was wonderful! They've been incredibly busy with everyone buying puppies during this pandemic, but Chrisna made sure she got back to me as quickly as she could and was always friendly and professional. I am beyond happy with our new addition to the family, Chappie!!! He is healthy, happy, and full of personality. My husband and I both come from a large family. All of them were all super excited to meet Chappie. Now, they all want a Cavapoo- LOL! You can just tell he was taken care well before we adopted him. Our Chappie was well worth the five hour drive and the money we paid! This is the first time I've every purchased a designer breed. I've always adopted through the animal shelter but my allergies have gotten so bad, that I had to look at other venues and with all the shelters almost empty where I live (only good thing that came out of this pandemic) I didn't feel as bad with my decision to adopt Chappie. Update- 12/12/22! We are still so pleased with our baby!!! He did super well settling into his new home with us!! Update- 02/14/23 still very happy with our pup! We have had no medical concerns with him, he is a great little dog, settled in well with our family, and is just so full of life!! We couldn't be happier with him!! read more

We adopted an apricot cavapoo in October. What a wonderful puppy! So sweet and friendly, and a very fast learner. He has won our hearts!! Process was very comfortable and efficient, though we were concerned that staff did not own the problem when we had to deal with vet visits for kennel cough after being home just a few days. read more

I should have went with the reviews!!!!!! first thing I made and appointment to go visit some puppies was told I could only see 3 puppies , i get there and you have to sit out side and they bring the puppies to you. I put a deposit down on the puppy and me and my spouse was going to return the following morning to pick up the puppy was told we couldn't come because our consultant would not be there ( understandable but what if I was outta town) i called back and ask could I see a couple more puppies before making my purchase so Lisa was more than happy to let me come and see a couple more however one of the ones I want to see was sick. I ended up getting the first one I picked out got her home she slept mostly the first two days they stated they gave her meds for the ride however once she came around got playful and "her self" she started coughing and we went to the vet they stated she had and infection blood work xrays make sure there not damage to lungs long story short paid ovrt $1000 for a dog and now a vet bill ovet $700 when called them to discuss the matter they act like there was not dog sick when clearly I was told could not see one due to them being sick. read more

Don't believe the negative reviews. Had I not checked it for myself, I wouldn't have my beautiful new puppy. Brianna was my representative and she was GREAT! She kept me informed prior to our 6 hour drive from Northern Virginia. Then we met our Cavachon! He was healthy, happy, a pleasure to hold. He's nearly potty trained in less than a week. Eats his food, sleeps through the night and is perfect. We own a 3 yr old Cavachon so we knew what to expect with this breed. Many folks aren't ready for the constant attention a puppy demands. Don't believe the negativity. See for yourself read more

Since purchasing our Miniature Schnauzer, Cooper in 2014, we've also purchased Jovi, a Mini Golden Doodle and Lucky, a Havanese. Every visit has been a great experience and a smooth transaction.
