Our new dog, Fester, from the Forsyth Humane Society.

Amazing experience all around! We visited the Country Club Road location more than a dozen times looking for the "perfect" dog for our family. The location is beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. Every staff member and volunteer that I came into contact with was kind, compassionate, and helpful. We are head-over-heels about our new dog, Fester! We adopted him about three weeks ago. He is a happy and healthy 2 year old mixed breed that fits in great with our family. We cannot thank Forsyth Humane Society enough for all that they do, day in and day out, for the animals in their care! Keep up the fantastic work!

I volenteered here this weekend and had a great time. The staff who works here does a great job and is very knowlageable. I helped with cleaning the rover van. I also got to meet sevral dogs. I wish I could have take one home with me. I look forward to their new facility opening soon.

I've had good experiences with Forsyth County Animal Control in years past. However, the current…read moredirector, Ms. Briggs, is possibly the most unpleasant and unnecessarily combative person I've ever encountered in a public-facing position. She recently responded to several polite email inquiries about one of the animals in their care with scolding, angry punctuation (and frankly, a poor command of grammar), and a pronounced unwillingness to be helpful. This is a county government position, and our community, both human and animal, deserves better.

I wasn't sure if the dog they had was my dog so I didn't immediately know what to do. I asked if…read moreshe had a collar and they told me no but she might have had one on before because of the way her neck fur was. They told me I don't think this is your dog. I asked does she answer to the name Treasure. They said they couldn't tell. The picture was of a blonde female Yorker just like mine but the only thing she had some black markings on her fur. I asked was that black permanent or something like dirt. They were very confused and vague and quick to not want to talk anymore (like I was crazy). So I thought about it a day longer and was sure it was my dog because all the questions I asked about her were answered vaguely. Called back and they said someone had claimed her. Treasure had one litter of puppies and when she was taken, I'm sure she was expecting another one in the future. They were so confused and vague with me I thought I was mistaken about the dog. But know that I think about it I'm sure it was a chance that was her. They never asked me to come to look at her to be sure. They told me where she was found and I was new to the area and couldn't think where Maryland Avenue was. Looked it up later on and it was not far at all. The age of the dog was about the same but all they had to do is say if she was pregnant or not or looked like she might have had a litter sometime ago. Her lost cost me 1600. I told them I had paperwork of her sale and breed registry. They said it might help but wasn't a definite identification use. They only used microchip as ownership. I think they stole my Dog and I regret listening to them say she was probably not mine. Check several times after not one time ever again did a blonde Yorkie found. They were always very short and rude to me, so I never really pressed that hard. I think about it and I am just hurt and regret dealing with them and won't ever again!
