Incompetent, dishonest, unqualified, hypersensitive and defensive. I've had plenty of disappointments but this guy I found on Yelp was a disaster. I'd hired him to install interior double doors. I ordered 1x6" trim and the door stop. He got moulding and ripped the primed 1x6 too narrow and jagged, but he hid stashed them in my shipping container where no one is permitted. Lastly, he spent over 4 hours on the phone, listening to his loud boom box playing an Islamic talk show, and only tacked up one side of the doorway. Assuming he spent the day doing what he promised, I didn't discover this mess until after I fronted him $100 for gas and presumed effort. Although the owner initially came across as professional, things quickly went downhill. I paid him to begin work on my garage and purchase materials, but the job was never started. I was repeatedly given excuses. Week after week he claimed he was wrapping up a project but never got to me. Then, he claimed he was sending someone, but no one ever arrived. Later, he said he took a project out of state. Ultimately, I had to hire another contractor who came with his crew when he said he would & completed the work in just two days. The owner, Emmanuel Stackhouse, returned $2,000 of the $6,900 I paid but has since stopped responding to my attempts to reach him. I hope others avoid the same stress and waste of time I experienced. Proceed with caution. Find someone else to help with your repairs and remodeling. This one is a headache. read more

Emmanuel didn't show up the day he agreed upon due to not realizing what day it was and then was about 2 hours late the following day. I hired him to do 2 jobs the first one replacing French doors and repairing some damage which he never finished, the 2nd job was flooring which the pictures will speak for themselves. It costed me over $3.6k for the door and $12k for the flooring. The floor panels were cut poorly in some areas the baseboards were damaged, some not reinstalled, and some partially installed. The carpet is loose and does not look properly installed on the stairs. When I asked about these things he told me it's because I don't know what goes into doing the job and that he done a good job. He said he is willing to go back out this Sunday for the missing items but any other work I would have to pay for. Was originally quoted $7k for labor for flooring and when I asked how much it would be to just do carpet in the whole house minus the kitchen the offer was then made for the labor to be $6k for hardwood all downstairs and carpet upstairs. I didn't ask for the discount... The realtor during her walk through made the suggestion to have another contractor come fix the issues and said hopefully I can get my money back. As for the quarter round Emmanuel I asked how much it was which I was quoted $200 for the material and I believe another $150 for the labor and I asked if it was something that was needed and was told it would be fine with just the base boards and since Emannuel was the expert I followed his advice. Also when I asked for receipts for the materials I was ignored multiple times and still have yet to receive them. read more
