This is the latest issue. My dog turns 16 in June. He has developed a skin irritation and he scratches especially at night. He's on Apaquel (sp). He's been on this for about 3 years. We get it monthly. I called at 1:00 this afternoon to get a refill. At 5 I called back and asked if it had been refilled. No not yet. They close at 6. I gave them a 5 hour window and never received a call. Dr. Abadie, why did you sell? It is now a money grab with NO personal attention. If I were you I'd tell them to take your name off the business. April 19 was the day they put my dog down. A week later they emailed me asking if I wanted to buy more medications for my dog..... was still upset that I had to put my dog down.... they wanted me to have an autopsy and everything else $$ after she was gone. All I asked was for a paw print. It's been 2 months and haven't gotten the print nor had any updates on it. These people are cold hearted and do not care about the relationship between you and your loved one. If I could do over again I'd never go to this place. All they want is your money. They do not care about your feelings. Dr Abadie is awesome but he is never there. It's just his minions running the show. I went there because it was convenient. Do not go here. On behalf of the parents of Rocky Gantt: Our dogs life was saved because of the great staff at Abadie veterinary hospital. I was calling around town desperately to find someone who could perform emergency surgery and remove a foreign object from dogs intestine. The incredible staff fit us in and provided the care needed. I can't be more thankful to everyone who assisted from the front office to the medical staff in the operating room. First off I would like to say that they do care about your dog and they're nice. But they don't care about your pockets. I walk in and check in with the front desk and she asked if I want to get my annuals done because he was passed due. I told him I really don't want to spend $300 today because it is tight for Christmas maybe after Christmas I would like to get it done. I'm glad I asked that because she said it would be $200. Then the doctor just says I'm going to give him a shot and I think I can't be that much maybe 50 to 60 bucks. $118!!!! That is not including the antibiotics she gave me in the probiotic she gave me which in total cost me almost $300 including the visit. Which is exactly what I did not want to pay. I would've never consented to a shot knowingly that it was $118 just for itching not a steroid or something he didn't necessarily need. This is the third time I've left feeling ripped off maybe I should ask more questions about how much things cost but...how much could a shot be? The doctor should give quotes or ask would you like to know how much this is before I administer a shot to your dog???, maybe to avoid walking out feeling like you can't afford Christmas presents. I also have not seen the same doctor twice in the last five years. I don't understand why they have such a high turnover of doctors. I am never going there again after being a loyal customer for five/ six years. I don't know the name of the last doctor I just saw that she did not seem like she cared about my opinion or what I had to say or how I felt ripped off. The two girls at the front desk also blamed it on me saying I should ask more questions and ask how much things are. Maybe I should, but it is a two-way street when it comes to a business. It felt like a money grab. I am never going there again. I got all my paperwork and I will never step foot in that establishment ever again. I have been in the service industry for 20+ years and I have never felt more disrespected and I did by that Dr., turning and walking away from me mid sentence saying "I don't assume anyone's budget.". Well maybe giving quotes should be a good practice. I did not raise my voice. I did not curse her out I did not become a Karen. If I could break it down, I'd give a 5star review for the staff and a 1star review for prices. While I realize maintaining good animal health is expensive, this place takes it to another level. If it wasn't for the way the staff treats me when I walk in then I would've left with the sale of the business a few years ago. I am always treated kindly and professionally. The staff are alway excited to see my babies, human and fur. I believe they genuinely do what they can for us owners, but dang paying that bill HURTS! They treat the animals and customer secondary to money. All they care about is money. I went to Abadie for over 30th years the - loyalty went with the sell out. Don't bother taking your dog to get care as no one is concerned with the animal just how much the bill is and how high they can get it. read more

I took my mother's dog here in 2020. I paid the bill via credit card, which I have proof and delivered the proof to their office. They have since referred me to collections. They will not return my calls. So they send you to collections for bills which you actually paid and confirmed as paid with them. Very poor management and highly unprofessional. I guess it's what you should expect from them given their veterinary history. Highly judgmental vets when I am trying to help animals and family, who have since passed themselves. read more

A week ago today I lost my Isabella she was 2 lbs. 4 oz. my Chihuahua loved her with all my heart could not have went through this without Dr Reed and Dr. Dubuque and the staff at Abadie veterinary animal Hospital , they took perfect care of her ! She didn't make it but I think she will live forever in our hearts they were so understanding and so great with her I couldn't ask for anyone better to have helped her through this loss. Switching to them for my 2 canine girls from MSAH who we have used off and on since the 1970s). Had annual visit for my 16 m.o. yest. As efficient and friendly as MSAH and closer. Also appreciate the late hours 2 days/week. Dr. Dubuc was great with us and appreciate suggestions for new treatments for heart worm instead of monthly pill. Only hiccup was that 2 techs attended us at various parts of the visit and the latter one, a young man got is patients(:) )/rooms mixed up b/c he offered me a rabies tag and my girl hadnt needed a vaccine.... maybe they should double verify ID of pts like we do in people health care.... ;) WEKK BE BACK!!!!! read more

I was there for only a year. I was not impressed. The office manager was so rude. My dogs were were distant and scared when I would get them back from boarding. I'm pretty sure they were not walked or tended to. I never got back the right food and beds so I knew they did not really care. When I decided to leave it was months before I could get their records. So bad on many different levels. This manager was so rude. When after a year I decided to leave it took her months to send the records to the new bat. I boarded them several times. I'm so glad we found Dr. Abadie. Our dog is a rescue and had a lot of problems as a puppy. The first vet we took him to did not properly diagnose him and put him through stressful (expensive) treatments. We felt the need to get a second opinion and took him to Dr. Abadie and are so thankful we did! Our dog is now happy and healthy. Brought my rotting there for an exam. All the ladies at the groomers love to see him coming cuz he's a big teddy bear. These folks were so freaked at his size they couldn't even manage to weigh him. They showed such fright that they made him and I both nervous wrecks. The tech and the Doc couldn't even manage to look in his ear. I've never seen my dog growl this way. I have gone to Abadie for a couple years, it is ok. Not a very friendly environment. They are over priced and not exactly caring. My experience that really set me over, was just recently. I understand covid is a sensitive and crazy time for every individual right now. However, they were not very sensitive and kind to me. I went in for my dogs annual check up, I showed up to my appointment, w/ face mask on. I noticed the door was locked, I thought that was weird. What I didn't know was that they are only allowing dogs and workers in the vet clinic which is fine. I was never told about this, no one would answer the phone. One of the vets happened to be outside rudely asked if I had an appointment. I told him yes, he told me someone would be with me shortly. The vet never even told me that I was suppose to wait in my car or let one of the front desk come assistance. I had no idea what I was doing or the protocol they were following not a single staff member or vet even tried to inform me. It gets better...so finally get my dog in the clinic I am waiting in my car..I get a call..the vet tells me my dog is in perfect health...I'm like really bc I know for a fact my dog has fleas which is why I'm here! He needed his yearly check up and flea medication. The vet argued with me told me no I don't see anything, its because he has white FUR?!?! I was so upset bc I felt like they did not even care about my dog! All they wanted was the money and for us to get out! My dog has terrible breath and he has a tooth problem, which the vet never even checked. I did not even bother to ask bc I knew the front desk was not going to answer they clearly were not concerned for my dog. If Abadie just would have taken a small amount of time to check my dog. They would have noticed the odor in his mouth and the fleas. I just hope no one else has to experience what I did that day. I hope this message helps improve their system. read more

I took my dog there and boarded him for about a week, I have used them before but never again! First of all they could not get him out of the cage, so I went back there to get him out, he looked so scared ,just cowering in the corner, makes me wonder if they even took him for a walk!!!! read more

My dog is a pain to try and cut his nails because some of them are dark and we can't see how far to cut it. So, we decided to bring him to this vet. The first time we did it everything was great. It was only $10 and nothing happened. So, my wife brought him in again on April 27th. A guy came back and got our dog to clip his nails. My wife gets our dog back and his belly is wet but she thinks nothing of it. He tends to pee when he is scared or excited so she thought he pee on his belly somehow. About an hour later we notice scratches and marks on his belly that weren't there before. We called and the only thing they could tells us is that the scratches were there beforehand. The guy that clipped his nails told us nothing about the scratches. It was obviously that they did something concerning the scratches because his belly was wet. If the scratches happened at the vet, the least he could've told us was that something happened. He literally didn't tell us anything at all. If he attempted to treat it we should have been told. We will not be using this vet again. read more

As a child, we started using Abadie not too long after they opened. Fast forward 20+ years later, and I am now a husband and father, still using them. My brother uses them, my parents still use them, it is a no-brainier. There aren't many genuine places left, but this is one of them. We have taken our three dogs to Abadie for years but have found the front desk to be lacking in the past couple years. The vets don't communicate with the techs and so in turn they look at you clueless when you arrive. They are mostly students, but they are poorly trained, and the experienced gentleman up front is no help to them at all. A simple drop-off becomes a scramble to find the animal's file and a 15-minute wait for the tech to come out and take your pet. I have been bringing my fur babies to Abadie Veterinary Hospital since 2006, Dr. Abadie most definitely has a passion for what he does and it is evident in his work. I also say the same for Dr. Perrone and Dr. Folse whom have also cared for my dogs. The hospital itself is very personable and the complete opposite of overwhelming which I love because other local vets are large and....well over whelming. The staff is always helpful and available.
