Took my cousin here and she loved it they had to reheat her biscuits and gravy but that was okay she lived the Rumchata in her coffee ... and enjoyed her breakfast.. I had the bacon and mushroom skillet with potatoes and toast and a Mimosa everything was so delicious and did not disappoint Stephanie our server provided excellent customer service as she's been for 18 years everyone was friendly and nice. When I'm back in town definitely will be back.

Everything on the menu is good here. Servers are awesome and attentive to the guests needs. On a college Campus at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale Illinois. Give them a try if in the area you will not be disappointed.

Buddy and I went down there to visit. We were students there 40 years ago, and Harbaugh's wasn't there, quite yet. In fact we asked, and it was an arcade before became the restaurant. The food is awesome, the service is friendly, and I highly recommend. Parking can be a bit of a challenge. Definitely add this to your list of places to stop in Carbondale.

Great food! We wanted mimosas but didn't see it on the menu but stopped anyway. Pleasantly surprised they had mimosas and bloody Mary's on the menu. Laura was amazing and all the food hit the spot. Highly recommend!

My sister and I were visiting Southern Illinois and this restaurant was recommended to us by a local. The waitstaff was friendly and the food was good.

What a great find for a late breakfast in Carbondale! We we're visiting the area and popped on Yelp to help us find a worthy eatery.. And this place came up. Can I just say, I LOVE YELP! Seems a lot of businesses here in Southern Illinois are slow to jump on the bandwagon, but clearly those businesses that have a YELP presence are doing well. So there's a parking lot just to the side of the business with 3 hour free parking. A little difficult for anyone who may be in a wheelchair, as the sidewalk is narrow and there's an incline. But short 1/2 block walk to the restaurant. Restaurant is casual and looks like it serves the college students nearby. They have a coffee counter for the caffeine fiends to grab a quick cup on the go. Seating is casual. The staff was attentive and friendly. Prices are reasonable and fair. So many options and so little stomach space! But I'm a sucker for hash and anything gravy, so best be sure that's what I got! And it didn't disappoint! As always, I ate more food than I should have, but it was oh so good! With bellies full, we were back on our way, but we will definitely keep this place bookmarked for future visits!

Come in the morning for pancakes or come later for cupcakes and pie. The menu has lots of vegan options for those avoiding butter, eggs, and that kind of stuff. Charming interior that has a coziness about it. It's just as much of a bakery as it is a cafe, with display cases full of goodies and sweets. There's a good amount of indoor dining too. A lot come in here to pick up baked items at the counter. If dining in, have a seat. The menu is actually kind of big with tons of things. It's about $7 for a large latte. Kind of pricy, as far as coffee goes but it's good though. Has some non dairy milks. It's about $11 for the Vegan Waffles. Hearty and filling. There's also other plant based offerings such as tofu bowls at lunch. Has the best baked goods around. It's closed Mondays and Tuesdays. There's lots of things for vegans and vegetarians.

Instead decided to try the Branch Cafe even though when we ate there a year ago we had a hour wait so we hadn't been back since. Ordered two breakfast meals and coffee and soup. It was around 2:40 ish when the waitress offered to get us a dessert because of our wait. Mind you we got there a few minutes after 2 because I looked at my phone right before we pulled in to park. We ate dessert and were still waiting so we asked the waitress if our order was being cooked because if not, we were going to pay for our coffees and go elsewhere. Almost a one hour wait. The whole back room was empty so it wasn't busy. So the owner proceeds to come up and started to argue about when we got there. The waitress says things like "when you go to fine dining, you expect a wait" as if we've never been in a sit down restaurant in our life. The whole experience was horrible. My food was cold. The owner and waitress were extremely rude, combative and condescending. I don't know if the waitress forget to turn our order in or what, but it was almost right at an hour wait for some soup and few breakfast items. Will NEVER be back. Do with that what you will.

The roast beef savory crepe is also tasty -- though a little light on meat. In terms of the milk tea, it is passable. The tapioca pearls are cooked properly, but the tea itself is nothing special. Basically this place is all staffed by SIU students with it being close to the campus. It's a scenario that seems like a recipe for disaster. That's not the case entirely. Can be a bit of a wait of course. The menu isn't that big, so it helps keep things running smoother. It's about $5 for a crepe. They have savory and sweet. Among the savory ones, we tried the mushroom. These were good and light enough that we didn't get filled up. For dessert you can get sweet ones. These include fruit fillings and whipped cream on top. Good place for tea and crepes. It's located on University Avenue at Mill Street. They frequently close for school events and vacations.

We ordered appetizers a calzone ( burnt in on end, blackened on the bottom -bitter tasting) and a sandwich ( warm, chips oily and soggy). They were polite and apologetic for the food preparation time. There were very few folks there so they weren't slammed busy and overwhelmed, just overwhelmed. We likely won't be back. $325 Dinner and drinks bill and any chain place with mid quality drinks and food ( Chilis, Applebee's, Cheddars, ) would be 1/2 the cost and clearly better. An upscale place ( Flame, Texas Roadhouse, Outback) would be a way bether choice for comparable money. The Venue is stunning and looks clean. A large restaurant with high ceilings and colorful art throughout the interior. Our server arrived moments after we were seated. She took our beverage requests and returned shortly with them. We had perused the menu briefly and started with a couple appetizers. Their Pretzels & Beer Cheese and the Smoke Pork Rangoon. Both were good choices. The pretzels were hot and just the right amount of course salt, a buttery dark golden brown crunchy exterior and warm soft bread interior. The smoked pork rangoon, a nice mixture of tender smoked pork with cream cheese filing. These are a nice twist on the traditional crab rangoon. Fried golden brown, with a flavorful filing. A good choice for an appetizer. For my lunch, I went with their Fish and Chips. Along with a side of the Gouda Mac. Two beer battered filets with slaw and fries. The fries and slaw were good, the filets were okay. They seemed like they were prepackaged though? The shape and texture did not match up with the house made fries and slaw. It was okay but nothing special. The Mac n Cheese was good, creamy rich gouda on warm shell macaroni.
