I am going into my second year of working with Harbor Compounding for my compounding needs. They have gone above and beyond the call of duty to make sure I get my prescription in a timely fashion and to communicate with my doctor to make sure my prescription doesn't lapse. As a matter of fact, two days ago I had to refill a prescription and there were some complications with timeframe and amount of prescription left and getting back in for an appointment with my doctor and they helped expedite it. They told me it may take until this Friday to get it and I received it the next day. Grace, the pharmacist, was just amazing. I worked briefly with another compounding pharmacy closer to me and was not satisfied at all. I highly recommend anyone who needs compounding goes to Harbor Compounding for all the compounding needs. Harbor Compounding is the best compounding pharmacy I have used to date. I get my shipment (really) in just 2 days..sometimes in ONE day! How do they do that without charging any more for it? They must have some kind of wonderful relationship with the shipping company, because how else could I get my shipment so fast without paying any more money for it? Seriously, it is fast and efficient. Also, they are very nice and efficient over the phone too. What's not to like? They really are great! They are also really spectacular inside their office/lab too. I went there once to get my shipment (as I was passing by) and they finished it for me while I wanted (which was just a few minutes). Most pharmacies take way too much time (like Walgreens for example), but these guys are really fast. They had more than 7 to 8 pharmacists in their LABS when I was there, so I think that's why they are so fast. Who knows? Whatever they are doing, it's working! read more

I did not know what a Compounding Pharmacy was vs. a regular pharmacy until my dermatologist suggested I try this place out. I will be getting all of my prescriptions filled here from now on! The big difference between Harbor and the chain pharmacies is that they are able to customize every aspect of your medicine for you. Did someone say bacon flavored meds! yes please! The retail space was beautiful, they have all kinds of neat gifts available. The waiting area is very comfortable and the staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They even took the time to sit down with me and discuss my medications in depth to ensure there were no interaction issues and that I was able to use the meds in a way that would be the most effective. They tell me that they can ship my refills to me but I really enjoyed everyone I met. It's in a good location near Triangle Square in Costa Mesa so I'm going to just keep going in for my refills! read more

I have been using Harbor Compounding Pharmacy for my custom compounded prescriptions for over two years. They are the only pharmacy that provides my special prescription in Southern CA-- I live over 200 miles away from the pharmacy, so I was worried at first. However, they have an incredibly efficient system, and my Rx is always hand-delivered to my door, next day delivery, month in and month out. I give them an A+ rating! The refill is easy to automate, my Rx just shows up right on time every month, and they charge a VERY reasonable rate for this delivery, which could be make-or-break when looking at overall cost. I am incredibly grateful they've got such a good, affordable service. My experience with Harbor Compounding has been exceptionally good. They produce very high quality compounded medications, and go above and beyond to work with your individual needs. For instance, some of the bio-identical hormone creams I have used in the past have had cream base ingredients which gave me a rash. The pharmacists have accommodated my sensitivities by providing me with samples of different base formulations, to find which worked for me. I also had a problem with certain type of capsule feeling "stuck," and they were happy to switch me to a veggie cap capsule which worked better, at no extra charge. I was a little bummed when my doctor switched the local (San Diego) Compounding Pharmacy to this one, but I have to say, I was only bummed for a minute. Harbor Compounding offers better product (safe media base for compounds) a variety in supply quantities for little to no higher costs. They are fast, friendly, communicative and very efficient. I dont mind having to pay shipping and handling because I am unable to pick up my subscription. Harbor Compounding Pharmacy's product quality, professionalism and expertise make up for it. BTW shipping and handling is not expensive for next day service It's unbelievably cheap in comparison I highly recommend this Pharmacy and I am glad my doctor picked quality and cost efficient company to meet my needs. I've found that Harbor Compounding has excellent customer service, even if you don't live in the same city. I had a rare prescription that I needed to have compounded, which greatly reduced the price for this particular medicine. Michael (the pharmacy manager) helped me get my prescription filled. My medication is automatically shipped to my home once a month, in strong tamper-resistant packaging. They never have a problem if my prescription changes, and they were willing to work with my insurance to help get my medications covered. Their prices have been reasonable too, which is great if you do end up needing to pay for something out of pocket, whether temporarily or long-term. read more

They are always professional and polite when I call, they send my prescriptions promptly in the mail and they always answer any questions that I have about my medications. I would like to share that one exceptional example of this is when the dosages of my medications changed and I was feeling a little apprehensive. I called and spoke with a pharmacist named Michael who took the time to listen, answer all of my questions and really put my mind at ease. Harbor Compounding is my favorite pharmacy! They treat you like a person & keep you updated about your prescriptions. I'm on an automatic monthly delivery because I get the same RX each month. (If there are changes, my doctor calls them & takes care of that.) They always text me every month, before sending my RX, to make sure I know it's coming. I like this because if I have any questions or changes I want made, it gives me a chance to do so before they ship my RX. And, if not, it's nice to know they remember my RX, even if I forget! The staff at Harbor are the easiest to work with of any pharmacy I have used. They are always accurate with my order and if there is any problems they call me and my M.D. quickly. The medication arrives the next day after ordering and one time I was afraid that it might have been affected by over 100 degree temps that day of delivery. When I phoned them, they said they had run some tests on that very scenario just in case someone should ask. They assured me that all of the medication would be fine. I had a great experience with Harbor Compounding. They are so well organized and pleasant to work with. I can do everything on-line if I choose. Recently when I was in the process of paying for my Rx, , I asked Mario if my supplemental insurance covered it. Since my Dr does not take most insurance I assumed, it was not covered.. Efficient, simple and easy to order and pick-up my perscriptions - particularly the compounded ones. Covered California Blue Shield insurance should cover hormone therapy instead of their having to later pay our costly medical bills because they would not cover inexpensive treatment via these perscriptions. That, however, is not HC's issue. H.C. stands head and shoulders above the rest in the Compounding Pharmacy field. read more
