Every employee in Harbor Compounding Pharmacy have always gone above and beyond. I have been with them for over six years it was only one time when I left them to go to another compound pharmacy because a friend suggested it . I was with this pharmacy for three months and the Postal Service they use lost my orders and claimed it was delivered. The Pharmacy forced me to pay again to reship my another 3 month RX, it truly put me in financial hardship. I was told it was my responsibility to back track to find the order. It was never in fact delivered it was in the Postal delivery room sitting for 2 weeks .I did not hesitate to return that next month and I will remain loyal to them. I started coming to this pharmacy when I found out they could compound dosages not available for current off-the-shelf prescriptions I had. My doctors have been able to write prescriptions for unusual dosages (to step down treatments) as well as for custom dermatological products when the "regular" products stopped working for me. They have always easily worked with my insurance and been reasonably priced, even for fully custom items. I called to transfer a prescription being that this location is closer to home for me. After giving them all the info I was told I would be contacted after it was filled. No one ever contacted me. I called back, the were closed for the holiday. Left a message got a call back Friday. They hadn't transferred it , and there was no note hat it needed to be transferred. They took all the info down.. Again. Then called me with prices. They said it would be $50 for a 2 month supply through insurance, the last compounding pharmacy I went to was $15 for the same thing. You will notice by my profile that I don't write many reviews. BUT...........I have been fortunate enough to have met the good folks at this pharmacy. If you want your RX done right then come here. If you want to visit a clean, professional, and overall polite environment then come here. If you want to be abused then go to the other pharmacies that are big name and no shame when it comes to their lack of positive characteristics. Every single person here is top notch. Many I have not even met, but I can tell by the level of competency that they go out of their way to get things done correctly the first time around. I won't type their names here for their privacy. I am so sad that after 3+ years of excellent service, I have had to transfer my prescription somewhere else; ( Harbor Compounding Pharmacy has always been timely in filling and shipping my thyroid medication. Polite staff have always been upfront and concerned about customer service......NOT TODAY. I had a front desk tech tell me "I will be fine if I miss a couple of days" while I wait for my meds to be delivered on Monday. Or I could pay for Saturday delivery which was $30+ . I called 4 days ago to refill my med! When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was met with a dry, unconcerned, manager. She suggested I could transfer my prescription to some other pharmacy, if I didn't like their service. Don't mind if I do! I've been a customer of Harbor Compounding Pharmacy for quite a while and have never really had a complaint however, I think the way they are conducting business during COVID-19 is not in the spirit of an essential business. Every other pharmacy in southern CA allows RX's to be picked up utilizing social distancing. Even fast food restaurants have adapted by placing pick up bins at the entrance of the storefront to prevent physical interaction. It seems to me that they do not want to adapt but instead "pass the buck" to the consumer to force them to pay an additional $7 for every RX they fill when they could make other reasonable arrangements. I even offered for them to place the RX outside their front door and allow me to pre-pay and pick it up myself to avoid the addtional fee. It is disheartening that when everyone is so concerned about money and expenses in a time when there is a worldwide drop in the economy and astronomical unemployment their answer is to charge their customers $7 more with no other reasonable accomodation - not even absorbing some of the cost themselves in good faith. They could easily make temporary pick up stations for little or minimal cost (amazon has lockers with combinations so there are definitely other no cost alternatives for their customers but I feel they are not willing to make any compromise that will cost them a dime). Instead they are putting 100% of the burden on their customers. It is disappointing to say the least. read more
