I stopped by to check out this dental office to inquire about what insurance they take. The door was locked and nobody was there. This was a Tuesday at around 3pm. Not a holiday. Their posted hours clearly stated that they were open until 5pm, Monday through Friday. I called them to see if maybe there was somebody in the office. The outgoing voicemail message said that they were open Monday through Thursday. (Why different hours than those posted on your business door?) It said on the message that they close for lunch for an hour, but not during the time that I was there. So, what gives? I can't speak to the care quality, as I wasn't even able to talk to anyone. And I will never find out because, I'm sorry, it's totally unprofessional to be closed on a Tuesday at 3pm when you're supposedly open. This place seems "amateur hour", and when it comes to someone working on my (or my family's) teeth, that doesn't work at all. Good luck to anyone willing to take a chance! read more

I agree with a previous post warning on not coming here if you have Medi-cal. My Husband was in between jobs and we got Medi-Cal for a very brief period until the new insurance kicked in. I figured while I had it, I would go to the dentist because I was having tooth pain. I found Harbor Dental and made an appt. The girls up front were nice. I thought ok, I'm glad I'm here and prioritized this. Then the dentist lady came over.... immediately off the bat she was rushed and curt in her conversation. I explained to her which teeth are hurting and that I've had a problem grinding since I was a child due to trauma, and she immediately goes off on a tangent of "that's exactly the problem, you are going to wear your teeth down and you need a custom mouth guard and that costs $800". I'm like..... ok, wanna take a look at my TEETH first?! She threw out recommendations about crowns, and which teeth to her assistant that wrote them down, immediately letting me know that Medi-Cal was not going to cover this, she was going to give me a teeth cleaning and give me a referral to UCSF to try and get what I needed cheap. Literally all that happened without any conversation from my part. Just her speaking AT me and not WITH me. It was the quickest and most half assed teeth cleaning I've ever gotten before she was gone in a flash. I was left whip lashed by her interaction with me, or lack there of. She absolutely treated me like some gutter scum that was there wasting her time with my Medi-Cal. Total second class citizen treatment coming from an abrasive and unprofessional "professional". Why accept Medi-cal if you don't want people who have Medi-cal?! I just left, like fuck this place. We'll guess what, I've got dental insurance now, for myself and my family of four. And I'll never be back to this shit hole. This dentist needs to realize she doesn't get to snub clients based on their insurance. You're in Pittsburg for Christ sake, not downtown Blackhawk. Worst ever. Mind games. She had an outside surgeon extract 8 teeth, he ruined my upper jaw and I left with major oral injuries. Beware. She also put false info in my dental file and she was not in the office when the imposter surgeon messed me up. Very irresponsible. Music was on loud and tv was on loud like extremely loud, smelled like someone farted through the whole office, waited a long time. Had a cleaning aces was the wrist cleaning I have ever gotten. Was rushed rough and not teeth felt dirty. Definitely did leave with that shiny smooth feeling in my teeth. Cleaned my teeth in 2 minutes and done. If you have insurance she will work on your teeth so fast and after 5 mins you are done she dosnt care about people with insurance if she is not getting money out of you. The heavy set receptionist is terrible and unprofessional. She definitely is out for money and treats people according to the type of insurance they have. One of the worst experiences ive ever had. As others have mentioned, stay away if you have Medi-cal. She will try to sell you procedures that are not covered. Everyone has gum disease. She told me my teeth were going to fall out if I didn't pay for all these procedures not covered by Medi-cal. She should stop accepting Medi-cal. The most unprofessional 'dentist' I've had the misfortune of letting touch my mouth. Not only did she lie about treatment, I paid a copay for a service she DID NOT RENDER. She said a deep cleaning. For gum disease. That's a whole process that takes 45 minutes per quadrant. As I've been told by 3 different dentist now. Oh, and my mother who's had the same procedure. Even a regular cleaning is more work then what she did. After fighting with my insurance to even see her, because I had faith in what she said, a month later she gets me in her chair swabs some cream on my gums (barely) and fake drills for a literally 5 minutes. Not even getting the teeth or the gums. Literally playing in my mouth smh. I promise you 5 minutes later she says she's done. Wtf. I looked at my phone before and after. Even talked to my mom who just had hers and went to another dentist down the street ( a better one. Loveridge dental). They both were surprised and suggested that she did not do a cleaning. At most a polish. Lol smh. But I still paid a copay and my insurance still paid for a deep cleaning. When confronted (after talking to another dentist, my mother, & my insurance provider) I realized she essentially lied & scammed & gave several different stories depending on who she was talking to. She even seems a little smug towards the end if I'm being honest. Believe what you want. Do what you want. But I would seriously suggest finding another dental provider. I genuinely don't know how she has these positive reviews. Very unprofessional, inept, & strange lady. Do not come here! Maritza answered the phone today. I tried to make an appointment and she started by telling me this is last appointment we will make for you since you missed so much. I was completely confused. I said when did I miss? She said back in January2021 and April2021 2 times! I told her you are penalizing me for something that happend 2 years ago... I told her people change, so many things can happend for why someone can't make it to an apt. I have reffered family's members here many times and Maritza has always sounded rude and lazy. It seems like she hates her job. I told her that I was pregnant and needed to schedule an appointment and she clearly didn't care. She told me to go look for a another Denise. Today was my first visit to Dr Kulaly and I was very impressed. Very professional and efficient front desk staff. The technician that did my xrays, I didn't get her name but she was awesome! I havent seen a dentist in almost 10 years due to lack of insurance and I expected it to be a mess. It wasnt nearly as bad as I had imagined. Dr Kulaly knows her stuff! She was thorough, very professional and very knowledgeable. She explained everything to me and I was very satisfied at the level of care I received. I was laid off recently and I was told to use my insurance before the end of the month. If you have ever been put in this position you understand how stressful this can be. I started to panic because I had less than two weeks to finalize all of the work that needed to be done and I needed to find a new dentist. From the moment they answered the phone I knew I was in good hands. They were accepting new patients and scheduled me right away. Unfortunately, my previous dentist left out some critical information regarding gum disease and overcharged me on a crown. However, Dr. Kulaly educated me on the seriousness of level one gum disease and how I can prevent it from getting worse. I have always had a problem with going to the dentist my whole life this dentist changed everything, She is so calming and makes you very comfortable. This office completely wasted my time. I called and told them a part of my tooth broke off and I'm in a lot pain because of it and I wanted it EXTRACTED. They booked me for the next day when I got there they asked if I wanted a cleaning I said no I'm SOULY here for the extraction, she said ok. I get called back dentist comes in I tell her why I'm there she says, what tooth? I told her bottom right side she looked my mouth she then says "which tooth exactly because all of your bottom right teeth have problems, there's so much to fix I don't know what I'm looking at" UMMMM WTF!! Good way to make someone feel like shit. She finally figured out what tooth which wasn't hard to do from the beginning because the tooth it literally broken. She told me if I got rid of that one I would still be in pain because the teeth next to it need work as well. I told her I'm here only for the broken tooth and I want it taken out. She then tells me "oh well we don't do extractions here" wth?! When I booked the apt I said extraction when I checked in for the apt I said extraction. Then she hands me a referral for an oral surgeon that doesn't accept my insurance, real helpful. This practice needs a lot of work when it comes to customer service AND listening to what the patient needs. If someone calls that needs an extraction you should let them know you don't even do extractions. COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME!! read more

Disappointed with the service here. I scheduled an exam with cleaning and xrays. Dentist didn't clean my teeth thoroughly, took a few minutes.. and suggested some unnecessary treatment... I felt like the diagnosis wasn't correct because I do take good care of my teeth and had no pain or bleeding etc.. but I realize some of us are more prone to dental issues regardless of how good our routine is, which is why I went to get a second opinion and later on, a third. Beware of this dental office complete scam!!! My son went in for a routine check up to leave with a estimate of service care plan well over 7000.00 not including over 5000.00 in extractions. I couldn't believe this. I took him for a second opinion because this was not setting right with me, as I work in the medical field and have some knowledge. The second Dentist basically said that they "Harbor" tried to rip my son off. Shameful Harbor shameful. read more
