When he retired I was scared, but started going to Dr.Catalina, and was relieved to discover that my whole experience was exactly the same as with him.! I have felt NO PAIN, due to her effective local anesthesia, nitrous oxide, sedation, and careful attention to my comfort and relaxation! Experienced and skillful, Dr. Catalina diagnoses problems like abscesses and bite problems and treats them, including doing a realignment that resolved a persistent broken tooth problem. When I developed a problem that required an endodontist who had nitrous oxide but was not certified to use sedation, she met me at his office, bringing the cushions I use in her office, and administered the entire sedation herself so I was completely comfortable throughout the procedure. Dr. Catalina has also added some new technology that has made many operations easier and more comfortable for her patients. I never saw the same person twice- it was like he took fresh Cabrillo graduates sight-unseen into his practice, and left them unsupervised to torture people. I was able to leave all of that unpleasantness behind, when a dental-phobic coworker turned me on to Dr. Christie. What can I say? The hygienists aren't representatives of the Spanish Inquisition. They've been in his practice multiple years, and know the art and science of their profession masterfully. After a multiple-year break from scaling, I was so well taken care of by my hygienist that I was still able to eat after my cleaning. It's also great to see a dentist who's pleasant, congenial, and has enough empathy and good sense to keep me coming back every six months. They're great at working with my insurance policy, and when things have gone above and beyond what insurance has paid for my other half, they've been really reasonable about payment terms and arrangements. Sometimes a medical practitioner can be broken by their office crew, but I never get anything but a smile and a good word from Dr. Christie's team. If I ever left Santa Cruz, but was still within a hundred miles, I honestly think it'd be worth the trip to come back to see Dr. Christie every time. Get into his practice now! Keep him rich, so he doesn't retire! My teeth need your help!
