The toddler area was unfortunately closed during our visit, but the rest of the space more than made up for it. There are tons of benches and seating all around, and you can see most of the playground from just about anywhere, which is so helpful when you're keeping an eye on kiddos. There's a massive covered pavilion area that would be perfect for group meetups or a picnic in the shade. And while it was still closed for the season, the splash pad/water park area looked like fun! The park has a picnic shelter with picnic tables under it and a grill just outside of it. It has two picnic tables. One of the tables is rectangular and the other is a square table with a checkerboard on it. There is also a couple of picnic tables and a grill in a grassy area in the center of the park's circle. You will also find a nice full basketball court at the park and a nice paved trail passes through it. It is a really nice trail and very peaceful. The highlight of the park though, is its playground. The playground has a rubber mud free floor, which is in great shape. There are benches around the playground's perimeter where parents can sit and watch their little ones. The playground's equipment includes a small jungle gym with slides, a large net climbing structure with a slide. There is also a bank of swings with a toddler swing, An ADA compliant swing, and some traditional swings. This is a very nice park. I didn't know if I would make a special trip to visit, but it is still very nice. I ended up here because I had picked up some food from a carryout joint and needed a place to eat it. The park's picnic shelter was the perfect spot. So, if you are in the area, and looking for a park to visit. I recommend checking this place out.

The size is on the smaller side so it might get boring after an hour. My rec is 30-60 minutes stay. Also it's in a neighborhood which is a bit inconvenient when driving through. Met up with my some fam and my goddaughter at this park... what fun! And it was quite a hot day for…read moreit. The parking lot was packed, but I managed to get a space that wasn't obnoxiously far and walk right in. My fam was hanging out under some umbrellas and I could see lots of water fountains and sprinklers all about. There's nothing particularly exciting for adults (except for the bucket pour, but it's a great environment if you're looking to cool off the kids! The bathrooms had an interesting protocol that I hadn't seen before. The park closes at 7, and each of the bathrooms closed in 15 minute intervals leading up to that time. For example, the leftmost one closed at 6:15, the second one closed at 6:30, and so on. What they don't tell you, which I do think would be key (kids and their bladders) is that they start cleaning the bathrooms out around 10 minutes before they close... so really you can't use the first bathroom after 6:05. Other than that, the park is cool! Seating is first come first serve, and they close promptly at 7.

There's a track around the playground and green space that kids ride scooters and bikes on. The playground itself is built more for older kids with ropes to climb to access the slide. There's enough shade and places to sit. Sadly, there aren't restrooms.

Awesome playground directly behind the Lorton library with plenty of parking…read more The play area has a contained wood chip base, two swings, six slides, multiple entrances to the playset with steps and climbing objects, a small covered section, a large 10x10 uncovered platform, and a bridge. There are lots of nice benches and two picnic tables with small grills with a big trash can at one. There is a large open area (I think I've seen baseball games or practices here before) surrounded by a paved walking trail. It's also far enough off Route 1 that if you have a runner, you'll have plenty of time to stop them before they get that far. The only cons I can think of are there are no baby or special needs swings and there's really no shade to speak of. Of course, the library has restrooms but only during their business hours. Definitely a great place to bring the littles.
