Great store in a good location with lots of good merchandise and amazing prices. I gave 4 stars as the service/attention from associates was subpar. I've only ever been to a harbor freight tools in person once. This time around, I knew exactly what I was looking for as I had seen it online, but I didn't know where to find it in the store. Move over Lowe's and Home Depot! Harbor Freight hits the sweet spot of compact space, packed with low-priced & great quality goodies. I needed a 1/2" socket driver with an extension to repair my washer's agitator. Every aisle is neatly packed with stock, making it easier to find needed items. No wonder this establishment is popular! This location seemed to have doubled in customers by the time I was ready to check-out (which leads to the reason I can give only 3 stars for this experience). When I approached the front of the store to check-out, it was apparent that there would be a short wait, as there were only 2 open registers and one cashier was seemingly having complications with a patron and so her lane was not moving at all. I opted to move over to the second register, which appeared to be moving, but when I arrived to it, the cashier decided to have a detailed discussion about the patron's life. I've got places to go and have only one small item to pay for. Then I realized that they were waiting for something. Perhaps a large order from the back? I could only surmise because the cashier did not make it clear to those waiting. I was thinking to myself, "Okay, instead of ramble your mouth, cashier, can you multi-task and check me out while you sit and wait???" Even the patron mentioned to assist with my purchase while waiting but that didn't cause a shift in prioritizing customer flow. Oh well. I liked the shop but not the unnecessary banter that seemed to have caused a long line of waiting customers. Management should have at least opened a third register to accommodate those waiting. Located in a small strip mall off of Ashford Dunwoody, Harbor Freight is easy to find with it's large signage. This shopping center does seem too busy and has several other establishments such as Wild Wing Cafe and a BBQ spot located in the same shopping center. Parking is always easily accessible. For now, this was the closest location to me outside of the one in Gainesville but both far away. I've been in need for a mechanic's tool set and knew exactly where to get one. This location much like the other Harbor Freights I have been to is well organized and signs to show you where things are. I have been to this Harbor Freight before buying miscellaneous tools. I've purchased items such as a paint gun, air compressor, and now the tool set. Be sure to utilize their coupons in circulars or sign up for the email list to get your discount. I believe I used a 20% off coupon on this purchase. Now that they're opening one in Buford, I will definitely be a frequent shopper there. read more

In the midst of the COVID19 scared, I find myself with a basement that needs refinishing (part II of the reno), and enough time to get it done... finally. I am at the stage where I need some new tools that I don't have for this project -- exciting stuff (: I came into the store to get an angle grinder, the right pad for the grinder, a hammer drill and the right bits for the drill (to go into a cement floor). To confirm these were the right tools, I asked an associate for his thoughts on the matter. His name was Alfred (I am sorry if I am misspelling that, Alfred). Alfred told me that I'd be better off using an oscillating tool more than an angle grinder (because you can control the speed of an oscillating tool and cannot with an angle grinder). He directed me to the appropriate tool and the right attachment for the task I had explained. He did the same with the hammer drill and bits. The pricing at Harbor Freight is great too. I was able to buy both tools and necessary attachments for less than it would have cost to rent them at Home Depot (the quality can be hit or miss with Harbor Freight stuff, but I figure if I get 2 projects done with them, then I am ahead). Been coming here for years. Some of there stuff is ok but alot is chinese crap. Good for most simple tools with low expectations. Checkout can be slow. Last time I waited a few minutes for a cashier (not a soul in site). Saw her walk by and waved. She acknowledged me and 5 minutes later I walked out. 10 minutes alone at checkout is beyond my patience. Found a better 1/2 set on amazon. read more

We've visited this location a few times and had experienced slow customer service but accepted it and still chose to come back. This visit, as we walked in, instead of being greeted we were told that we could not come into the store if we did not have "face coverings." So, Harbor Freight is trampling upon the rights of its customers by enforcing a dress code, now? As if that weren't enough, they had the nerve to have multiple VERY long lines. It's like, not only do I have to look a certain way to enter this store but y'all can't even provide prompt customer service for the customers that ARE willing to let you violate their rights just to shop there? I have been to this store close to ten time, but have given up on the wait three or four times. Today there were only two cashiers working, but only two people in front of my in line, so things were looking good. The first guy had something that they had to get from the back and the cashier worked on it for five minutes before disappearing and had not returned when I gave up. By then there were at least ten people in each line. I was at most saving a few dollars so went somewhere else on the way home. read more

OK I'm a huge fan of hardware stores. This place will have some great deals. Only drawback is most of the items are cheap tools made in China. That being said, there are some good enough products in here if you look around. And they have a large variety. The one thing I would not buy from this place is power tools. Some of the power tool accessories and hand tools are ok though. And the tool cabinets are of decent enough quality, and a decent enough price, that I would consider purchasing them if you don't want to spend a boatload of money on tool storage. read more

2 stars just for that particular situation. Normally guys up there are helpful. I called the store to find out about the dimensions of the box containing miter stand by Hercules. A female employee just flat out refused to measure the box for me. I explained that the dimensions on the website seem to be inflated and wrong. Based on them I would have had to hire a truck. I also explained to her that I live around 25 miles away, so the trip to the store just to see: "if it fits" seems a bit unnecessary. Nevertheless that's what she suggested to me along with the "bug off" attitude: "dimensions on the website equal dimensions of the box and therefore I won't do it". I had to call another store and the employee up there had not issues with measuring the box for me. Btw the size on the website was wrong. read more

In the rush of Irma, I had visited 6 HFTs, 3 Home Depots, 2 Lowes, and this was the first place to have Generators in stock. I was planning on getting a "Tailgator", but decided on the 2000 watt Predator inverter. The manager, Andrew (I think?) was working hard unloading the truck by himself in the rain, bringing out generators one by one for those in line. I was last in line and didn't get to grab one of the big generators, but I was waiting for a 2000 Watt inverter as he said it was pretty deep in the trailer. Some lady then proceeded to walk up and grab "the last one" right in front of me. Upon further investigation, the manager then came back with 2 more for myself and another gentleman. At checkout, the other manager's dyslexia led him to accidentally input the wrong part number, resulting in me getting charged for something I never actually took delivery of. Not a big deal really, but it required me to go back to another HFT to get refunded. read more
