The overlay hinge on my kitchen cabinet door broke. I couldn't find the correct item to replace it. Visited multiple home improvement/home repair stores. Was referred to Rockler in Sandy Springs. Try to find a drawer railing . I took the old ones with me that need a replacement. They had everything but the one I needed. I ended up finding it on eBay! It's OK for overpriced hardware store they do however have Hardwood available which I won't review because I wasn't in the market for hardwood at the time. I know my friend that makes vases and other specialty woods loves his place and it's more for that type of clientele. I ve read several reviews regarding this stores employees racist type behavior. However maybe it's gotten better since I've been going there over the past couple of years because I've never had a problem with these guys. They have helped me load my lumber without asking , informed me on equipment with lengthy conversations and even demonstrated tools that I was considering purchasing. I just wanted to see how loud a saw was and he took me back in the back and turned one on without me asking! Yeah when I came once close to closing they gently let me know but I have to think about how I feel when I'm ready to get off work too. The Sandy Springs Rockler has the worst customer service of all the Rockler I have visited in multiple states. I have visited many times but I no longer will. They rarely greet me when I enter, they stand off in the corner and just stare at me as if I am going to steal something, they are short and awkward when I ask them questions. The only reason I continue to return is because the Sandy Springs location is closer to me than the Kennesaw location. And I enter with hopes that Bill is working that day, the only person who is friendly with good customer service in that store. When I do goto Kennesaw, I mention every time how poor the customer service is at Sandy Springs and the response is always, "we hear that all the time". This is sad, what on earth is the regional leadership doing to address these complaints??? read more

The Sales Associate seemed annoyed by our presence but a Caucasian couple entered the store and he lit up with warm welcomes and friendly what can I help you find? It was very weird, to see. I was looking for a Leigh B975 box jig. This is listed in Rockland's master catalog. Tried using the website inventory search to see if it was available at this store before going there (it's close to an hour away, through Atlanta traffic). All the site gave me was the store's address and phone number. This implied that one had to phone the store to check inventory. FYI, most retailers have websites that let you see if a specific item is available at a given store. I called the store at 12:05 PM on Tuesday May 15. Asked if they had a Leigh beehive/box jig in stock. The respondent said they didn't have 'things like that' in the store - then HUNG UP. This was unexpected,as I'd bought 2 of these over the last 3 years. I looked online and found the Woodcraft store, also in Sandy Springs, but easier to get to. They were very helpful. So I've found a new woodworking store with a better website, larger selection, and well staffed. Lemonade out of lemons. read more

I only use Rockler online. so if I have a problem I call their customer service number. I've been using Rockler for about 5 years. Honestly I can't remember a time when Rockler customer service actually helped me. There's always some reason why they can't help. And even when they say they will help they don't. Example; a clamp rack I ordered was manufactured incorrectly. The slot opening were too small. I spoke to at least 3 people who assured me they would replace the item. They did by sending me another rack with same defect! I threw into recycle and they refunded my money. They are good about refunds! read more

Had to return an item via mail that was damaged. Item was sent on 2/22/24 and received by Rockler on 2/28/24 at 9:45AM per the UPS tracking information. As of 3/6/24 I am yet to receive a refund for the return. I called customer service and was told their returns were "backed up", but she stated they should be able to get to it in a couple days. I asked if they would not charge a customers card for 5 days after an order left their warehouse. The lady stated "I'm not going to answer that question. Thanks for calling Rockler". She then ended the call. By all means, if you have an alternative source for your woodworking supplies be it Woodcraft, Woodsmith, etc, I would strongly encourage you to use them first. read more

The name of the store pretty much gives their specialty away. But I was still intrigued to visit these guys and see specifically what they carried because of the happiness that blue collar work can bring me on occasion. They sell wood, stuff to cut wood, and accessories for...wooden...based...stuff. Okay, so I don't know everything there is to know about being a crafty craftsman; but, if I did, and I needed some wood stuff I would definitely check this place out after I made sure Home Depot did not have what I was looking for. Their prices are a little steep. $300 for one of those desk keyboard sliding compartment things? No thank you. I will take my chances and try to build one out of aluminum cans and old license plates. The guys here were really helpful though. They pretty much jumped at the opportunity to assist me and answer any questions that I had. I don't really think that they thought I was going to buy anything though after I was informed what the price of a particular item was and responded with: "wow, that is expensive!" Question: Why would an individual want to buy a wooden do-hickey at this place when the price you can get the same item at Home Depot for less. Because they are dumb? False. Fact: Because they don't believe in supporting large corporate chains because they just saw that movie about Wal-Mart being such a terrible company and now they are "out to make a difference." Kind of the same trend that followed after Al Gore's movie about the environment being an inconvenience or whatever. read more

this nothing specific to this store but the whole corporation in general and their misleading claims of "free shipping" as well as sales. do not believe this claims because add an additional fee that is in fine print for heavy equipment but it is hard to tell if that is included with the free shipment voucher they send.. also before you charge your credit card there is no way to see the total charge online and when they process the fee it is already on there. I sent email and call them and they basically were rude and unhelpful. saying it is in the fine print and that it is an additional fee and not consider free shipping and handling even though it is charged as shipping on the credit card. it will return what ever items i purchase from them and never do business... make it clear to customer... if they have to guess what is charge your website is flawed and you get very irate customers. stop burying fees in fine print... it shows the type of company they are and really leave a bad taste in customers mouth. As a serious woodworker I'll pop in from time to time to purchase things that I need that day. They generally have what I need and fairly easy to find. If you're looking for help then ya may not get it. I've gone in numerous times where no one says hello until I'm holding my items at check out. I'll still continue to use Rockler, I only wish they would engage more when shopping. I might even buy more if they did so. I will say their has been one case where I did get help from a guy about late 30's but haven't seen him here since. read more

I'm an amateur woodworker and this was my first time in a proper supply store. Very impressive selection of tools, lumber and various supplies. I'm used to getting router bits at the small section Lowe's devotes to woodworking but seeing multiple cases filled with all kinds of router bits from Freud was refreshing. Staff was friendly and let me wander the aisles without trying to help too much. Prices were also very competitive with what I've seen online. They also carry a wide selection of Rockler brand items. They had many options for miter bars and I was easily able to find the one I needed for a crosscut sled. Despite the drive, I'll definitely be going back for anything I need. Time to graduate from Lowe's. read more

First of all homie, some people aren't trying to be "trendy" by shopping at the little guy, some of us just happen to prefer giving our money to small business. My pops owns his own business, which is in direct competition with corporate chains, and I wish people would buy his stuff more despite his slightly higher prices. He was just telling me how he has lost some business recently to a huge corporate giant and when he went to talk to them the people said that while they loved his customer service and attention to details the cheaper deal was too good to pass up. I don't want to be that person. Anyhoo, back to the review at hand. Like I said before if I can I would prefer to go to a locally owned business. You tend to receive better and more personalized service. This isn't always true, but Rockler exemplified this. I walked in with a need in my head, but had no way of knowing how to put that need into action. It took one question for the guys at Rockler to tell me how to do what I wanted to do. I bought the equipment needed and I was out of there. Were the things I bought more expensive than Lowe's... probably, but I don't care. This time around - she needed veneer. If you don't know what that is, it is a thin decorative covering of fine wood applied to a coarser wood or other material. She is trying to fix an old table and needs mahogany veneer to fix a spot where it has been chipped...who knew? I still learn stuff from my mom, okay? Anyway, apparently, you cannot buy these types of items at Home Depot, Lowe's, etc. You need these speciality shops. We were immediately greeted by a decent enough guy - I think his name was Jonathan. But I guess in wood working, you don't have to work about being super personable with the customers as it is usually guys walking into your store - not 71 year old ladies and their daughters... so he did well enough. Unfortunately, my mom was woodworking before this guy was born. So he should take that into consideration when speaking to a customer. She isn't doing the work wrong - but she is doing it old school. She doesn't necessarily know the new-fangled ways of doing things - your "tricks of the trade," Sonny. He needed to show a bit more respect, it all. She was frustrated - I spent the trip mediating. Anyway - we found most of what we needed, but alas, being a small business, half the supplies mom was told she needed to do the work they were out of. But was twice told that she could buy the right glues, etc. at Home Depot. Okay, if you send the woman who is shopping at the small business to the big business, she may not come back. Apologize and tell her when you will have it in. Otherwise, I do like the store, and they have a lot to offer. Just work on the service - especially to the non-burly men and you should be all set. read more

I will stick with Lowe's from now on. I live on the southside of Atlanta and I stopped into this store because I have visited the website in the past. I didn't expect to visit such a small store. They have high prices compared to Lowe's or Home Depot and their service is not so great. It took a long time to check-out since the guy in front of me had $1200 worth of products and I was buying 2 items. They talked about the weather, his truck, and their woodworking experiences before shaking hands and allowing me to pay for my stuff. I was about to walk out but my wife was in a store nearby and I had to wait for her anyway. When I set my items on the counter, the clerk started to organize his catalogs. I was shocked, I just told him "IM READY TO CHECK OUT" and he scanned my stuff. Another reviewer said they provide great service but I disagree. I will not recommend this store to anyone because of their high prices and less than par customer service. Also, the store-brand items are all cheap China-made products so I am not sure what the previous person was speaking about when relating this company to the local community. read more

There are always plenty of men hanging around this store on a Saturday morning. It is a really nice store and definitely an upgrade from their previous location. It is very open and lady-friendly because you can find drawer pulls, materials to repair drawers and other items of interest. Primarily this place exists to serve the interests of those who love to work with wood. They offer classes, demonstrations and everything you could possibly need, (large tools and materials), for such a hobby. We tend to visit when we have unique wood repair needs and need some difficult to find parts. They are a bit limited when it comes to their hardware selection but it never hurts to ask because customer service is always great. read more

Tim is a funny guy and a throwback to the days of people taking pride in being good at retail (I was raised retail as opposed to a normal religion.) Good for hard to find cabinet pieces like 170 degree hinges. I had a broken kitchen cabinet hinge. After making the rounds at Home Depot, Lowes, and Ace I couldn't find the piece. I thought about buying on line from Amazon, but still wasn't sure of the piece I needed. Based on a recommendation from a friend, I visited Rockler. The staff was able to help me find the right piece to replace the broken hinge. Problem solved! read more

I've been shopping at Rocker for a little over two years now. Great selection and a mostly helpful staff. The older guys tend to care less about us younger guys who walk in the store. Once even had a guy just walk away while I was trying to pick his brain on a good circle jig idea. Aside from that I love this place. Prices are competitive with Woodcraft and Highland, and they have a pretty great selection of exotic woods to browse through. My advice, know what your looking for before you enter the store because the older guys tend to scoff at noobs asking questions. read more

My experience at this store was different. I was in the line with an older white gentleman in front of me. The gentleman paid for his item with no problems and wasn't carded or ask for ID/Drivers License by the clerk to confirm his identity. I paid for my item and the clerk which was white ask me for my drivers licenses and looked at my credit card to match it with my ID. I couldn't understand what was the different from me and the gentleman before me. I am African American nicely dressed, a professional. I hate when clerks pick and choose whom to ask for ID and put you under a radar. For that reason I am giving them a 1 star. I feel and my opinion only the old white man whom I gave my credit card too and then as for my ID was racist. I just can't understand no other reason for the man to ask for my Drivers Licenses and match it to my credit card. I went to my car and thought for a min. I went back in the store and returned the item. I ask the other two gentlemen standing at the register was the manager there. I was told he was off . Its hurtful to see such a good store hire clerks that does treat all customers equal. "I wouldn't had a problem if he had only ask the gentleman in front of me for his Drivers License and put his credit under a radar as he did mine." Spent $25 and two hours driving time for a Router Into Class and it was wasted money. Expected discussion of Hand Held and Table Mounted Router, what a router can and cannot do, and an organized demonstration of router techniques and safety. It was just a totally disorganized paid advertisement of Rockler products. Instructor walked in and asked what questions we wanted to ask . . . no lesson plan whatsoever. As an experieced carpenter new to routers, I had no idea what questions to ask. But when asked about routers and router tables, he would ONLY answer questions about Rockler products. He also said only pros could do handheld router work and to not even think about it . . . and would not do any hand held demos. He was nice, did apparently have good router knowledge, but made it obvious his hands were tied to offer any real expertise . . . only Rockler products could be discussed. And he scared the heck out of me with his complete lack of safety protocols. Not only useless , but downright dangerous ! ! ! read more
