This store was really improving, cleaner, better stock and good customer service. The last two times I've been in there, customer service has gone downhill. Today took the cake! I'm at check out and Daniel asked two questions, getting adds, phone number. The rest of the time talking to another associate about going on break. Really what happened to paying attention to the customer. Before I left, I chewed Daniel's ass out. The customer behind me, agreed with me. I talked to one of the supervisors. Companies wonder why their brick and mortar is going away. Don't have to deal with Daniel's when I order online. Don't waste your time calling corporate, you sit on the phone forever. read more

On Wednesday (St. Patrick's Day), sometime between noon and 3pm, I purchased (2) battery testers: $3.99 for car (also works for alternator) & $4.99 for household. Samantha, the cashier associate and the supervisor (or manager) ran this place like a machine with a heart. I found the car tester in the aisle after I was given guidance where to go by Samantha. As for the other tester, being a very new product , it was not even on the shelves yet. Well, the supervisor/ manager brought me one from the back. Great teamwork... great service! I recently ordered and item to replace on I had owned before that got damaged. The package took a very long time and the box was damaged sot that I could not refuse the package. The previous one had been assembled at the store when I bought it but this one came with wheels unattached. Hex nuts so tight that neither my son nor I could loosen them. and no tools I owned would fit on the hex nuts and allow us to remove the so that we could access the area to attach the wheels. I contacted the home office from the package and send it back but I needed the item. I asked it there was a tool that would fit and was told there was on that shipping label They told they did nt allow any of their stors to help with purchased items. This place is pretty consistently wack but today they achieved a terrible service level up. We get in line and are 3rd in line. Should be easy, right? Not at this turd! We stood there for OVER 10 MINUTES while the only cashier tried to limp through doing a return for some guy. This place sells cheap, low quality tools. Im sure there's a clear and simple page in the handbook for returns. Finally he calls for backup and the other person who works there comes and takes the customer to the next register to help him. The next guy in line steps up to the Plate and SWEET BABY JESUS ITS ANOTHER RETURN FOR THE CANNOT DO RETURNS GUY! Kill me now. 5 more minutes and we finally spend our 3 dollars and leave. Lets be honest about one thing here, nothing sold at Harbor Freight is of superior quality. If you come here looking for Craftsman quality tools at Harbor Freight prices, you are in for a bit of a rude awakening. However that doesn't mean all is lost in the land of cheap tools! Do you have sporadic small projects around the house? Need a pipe wrench to finish fixing your toilet? Maybe you need a hammer so you can hang up that picture your wife has been nagging you about? If thats the case, then Harbor Freight is probably the destination you should go to. But I stress that if you buy tools here, they should only be for light use situations. If you plan on using your tools with any sort of regularity, do yourself a favor and get something of at least slightly better build quality. If you need tools daily for your job then you probably shouldn't be here at all. (Except for MAYBE purchasing a tool box.) Harbor Freight does have some incredibly low prices, but you will notice that on each item you will find the "Made in China" sticker prominently plastered. Lets face it, would you REALLY trust a $2 dollar voltage tester? If you do then you are far braver than I am. You will find that most people who work here are disinclined to offer you any sort of meaningful assistance, however its a small store so even without someone showing you the way, you should be able to find just about anything in the store with relative ease. Those who work here are also not the most enthusiastic bunch, although there are 2 or 3 people who seem genuinely happy to talk with customers. read more

Everything is fresh and clean, unlike the original Fresno location on Blackstone. This is a nice place to get cheap tools, however alot of their items dont last long. But some of their items are very good. It only takes a little while to figure it out. People are usually nice, could work on getting out behind the counter and assisting customers more often but it's sort of easily laid out. I had to show a couple where the 3gal pancake compressor was or they would have walked out the door, I even told them to buy the 25 piece starter kit since they were giving it to someone as a gift. Now that's how the cashiers or stockers should have done instead. At the end of the day everyone is pretty helpful and nice their. At least they don't have Thary working there like the other one on Blackstone, she is horrible. read more

I dont know why some of the people complain on this store so much. I just bought a second metal cut off (chop saw) for steel studs etc. My first one died. It actually worked but the cord was falling apart, had vibration, anyway my point is that i bought that thing for $79 bucks 10 years ago. Just curios how long De walts or Craftsman lasts at triple the price. You get what you pay for. They are constantly improving on quality as well. their cordless screw guns, drills, impacts, hammer drills, etc have gotten much better. i just threw out my old cordless drills, and they were pretty dead, mainly the batterys were bad. had to be 15 years old that freaking a long time. Their tools are prefect for the home doer which is their intent. Commercial use is another thing. being in the metal stud framing business, i'd probably try their new line of Bauer, and the other new brand. They compare to De Walt or Makida. Some people just dont have the money for name brands, these are a great start. There are many other things they sell that are great as well read more

Tools are not top quality, but the for the price you can usually get by. When you need that special tool, and renting won't do - Harbour Freight is a great option. Just bought a Framing Gun, while it is not as nice as a porter cable, bosch etc...and it did jam a few times, it was $79. The box of nails nearly cost that.
