I visited this store over the last two days trying to return some plants that were nearly a year old. I didn't have the receipt, and they had originally been purchased with a gift card, so I knew it was going to be a challenge. I have to give a huge shout-out to the ladies at Customer Service, especially Marina. They truly exhausted every possible option to help me. At one point, I accepted that I might just have to take the loss because I didn't think there was anything else they could do. Instead of giving up, they kept digging through their system like private investigators until they found my original receipt based on the purchase date! They were patient, understanding, flexible, and determined to help. While my friend and I were waiting, several other team members also stopped by to ask if we needed anything, which really showed how attentive and customer-focused the staff is. The customer service at this location is unmatched. Experiences like this are why I'll definitely be returning for future home improvement projects. When I tried calling for assistance, I was left on hold for 15 minutes with no answer, and then the call was disconnected. Overall, the experience was extremely frustrating and poorly managed. Tried to order tile. First attempt online - box of tile ( 50#)- all broken. Then store advised I should have it deliver to them - then me - didn't happen - someone actually put 2 - only 2 boken tiles in a ripped box and sent it out. Store Manager tried to help - 3 attempts at oredering to store only 1 box, then 1 box, then 3 boxes. Out of all of that - only 7 tiles were unbroken. Sadly, could never rely on them to bring enough to do my bathroom - so shopping elsewhere. Whoever runs your warehouse needs a serious reevaluation of their job description. This review is for the millwork department and is overdue from an order/encounter in April 2025. My husband and I were looking to replace our sliding screen door which had be torn for a few months now. Apparently they don't keep an in-store stock of sliding screen doors for new built homes (our home was built in 2021) it has to be a special order. We were in the store and found this out through Arturo in the millwork department. He was there the night we happened to stop by to check and asked if we needed some assistance. He gave us his business card and informed us to send him an email when we're ready to order. My husband measured the sliding screen door and I emailed Arturo with the measurements and an estimated cost. He replied the next morning with a very detailed estimate and the different options: standard and updated one. We exchanged a few more emails and he answered all of my questions. He also called me to confirmed my order and sent me a final review report. Since these sliding doors are special order/custom fit they don't offer returns. He told me it would be about 3-4weeks until my order would be ready. Exactly 4weeks from the day I placed my order I received a call, my order was ready for in store pick up. I had no issues picking up. Installing was abit tricky since the instructions on the screen door was vague, but with a quick YouTube video search we got it figured out. Overall we're happy with our purchase and we had a great experience with Arturo. read more

Terrible experience here. I bought a new dish washer 2 weeks ago and paid extra for delivery & installation. The installer came and broke a valve under my sink, then told me I had to pay for a plumber to come fix it. So now my new dish washer has been sitting in my living room for 2 weeks. The plumber I paid for came and now has to get a part and return. We hacve dishes piled everywhere and they won't send their own people to fix. Won't be coming here again in Fresno. Home Depot is always someplace I like going to. In general the help is great and sometimes exceptional. I am so impressed that they actually had a Behr company representative working in the store. Apparently there's two of them and Zachariah is there almost daily... As an accomplished individual with a high confidence level, you still sometimes want to pick somebody's brain. I have four different properties and generally perform the maintenance myself with smaller projects. And I'm doing an extensive remodel on my own 1953 ranch style house here in Old Fig Garden (Moon Base Alpha). Step-by-step, I'm knocking projects out and have completed the inside paint job, mostly. It was fun, refreshing on products, techniques and picking up the skill set.... And I'd come into the store planning on using the dynasty exterior paint to begin with... I'm generally well researched with things that are available online ... comparisons, critical reviews, etc. I thing was that I had bought a ton of stuff over the years and never consider these rewards programs... and at $80 a can of paint, the lightbulb went off. Delightfully unexpected as Zachariah walked me through everything and got me plugged in... it's nice to have people who can respond to direct questions, are not impaired, and who are knowledgeable.. and some of these are one time projects. I'm always willing to spend a little more money for the better quality products... and having used the dynasty on the interior trim, I liked some of its qualities. And the exterior is another opportunity, so with the 10-year fade guarantee, the additional conditioners and additives, I wanted to treat my baby. It's always WAY cheaper than a girlfriend so why not? lol Anyway, if anybody is paying attention to any of my reviews, you know I like highlighting the people and think that's an important yet unconventional way to use this platform. It's not just about the thing we got, what we ate, but also about the good people that help make these experiences better, provide some knowledge to help us make better decisions. Terrible customer service & cabinets are made of cheap pressboard. I ordered 19 cabinets, Home Depot told me they would deliver all at the same time, instead there were deliveries on 5 different days between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. 6 different days that they expect me to be waiting all day on five separate occasions - RIDICULOUS. I cancelled the entire order and they still delivered three of the cabinets that i had to take back. You will be wasting your money and time purchasing anything from Home Depot. Went to Home Depot for some paint. I was clueless about the DIY project. I had to paint about 200 linear feet of baseboards. Fortunately James was working in the paint department. James was very knowledgeable and helpful. He assisted me with everything..... proper paint, painter's tape, proper paint brush, paper and plastic to protect the carpet how to prep how to clean up The baseboards look GREAT with no paint on the walls or floors. Overall I'm very happy with the help I've gotten at the abby st Home Depot. Remember everyone under 40 has been mind-bleached by social media so if you're older don't expect any kind of solicitous geniality. But everyone I ask questions of answers me right away, and sometimes they will lead me to the aisle where stuff is. I also think the workers can't affect the pricing, which is inflated but I think this has a lot to do with the whole economy. I don't think ANY store in an urban area except (for now) a Dollar Tree can sell something for less that 3-4 dollars, because it costs them that much to 1) Have the space to sell it. 2) Hire someone to put it on the shelf 3) ditto to ring it up 4) pay the utility bills. Just to HAVE THE ITEM IN PLACE TO SELL regardless of the wholesale cost is fairly expensive. This has its roots in real estate issues, which is a whole other problem that there will be no solution to anytime soon. read more

I don't understand how people can work in customer service and not have customer service skills! We remodeled our entire house and bought everything here. I'm not asking staff to remodel my house but I'm asking for materials that I need. Sometimes things I'm looking for aren't in the location where the app is stating that it's in and employees make no effort to help me look. They will point in that direction and when I still can't find it, they will say they probably don't have it. They sometimes will say, oh I don't know this is not my department. They won't look for the person in that department for you either. The self checkout was stuck and instead of helping customers immediately, they chit chat about their personal life. There were two people that needed help with the check out and the two employees just stood there talking even after the two customers asked for help. My grudge is not with the personnel , it is with the window covering installation, telephone system and customer service. IMPOSSIBLE to get ahold of a live person, and if you do and get transferred to the department you want , forget it no one answers. I must have tried 20 times in 2 days. I live an hour away, so impracticable for me to drive to store. I bought cellular blinds for my home and paid for installation. They arrived, called to get installed, but of course the person quit and they had no one else. Very frustrating. From what I have gathered HD pays crap so they dont keep installers long. PAY THEM MORE $$ FOR HEAVENS SAKE and you wont get bad reviews and lose customers. Not going back!!! Good luck trying to find an installer from another retailer. read more

Not my usual review, but the young asian man working self checkout on July 13, 2022 deserves recognition! I've been coming back ad forth to this home depot because I'm in the process of moving, and he's been working the self checkout every time! He helps every single customer that comes his way and brightens up every customer who checkouts or walks out the door. I really appreciate him and give that boy a raise! I also want to mention that they have a shortage on carts and my hands were full and he came running to help and even scanned the items for me before going to assist another customer shortly after, what great service! I ordered a sofa/bed that was to me delivered on monday 12/1/2024 I got an email saying it would be delivered between 8 am and 11 am by 3 pm i called they said it woudl be here between 4 and 6 pm by 6.30 pm i called again teh lady said it was still in stockton no one could find the correct label now they do not know when it will be delivered but i already took a full day off of work I guess cancelling the order is the only way to deal with these people read more

don't understand the low stars. customer service here is excellent (besides the one female employee stocking the light switch section wearing skinny dark denim jeans w rips in the knees & mid back light brown w highlights hair who seemed very grumpy w a frown the size of texas & tired of ppl even though it was only 9:30am); other than that, every single OTHER employee was very friendly & helpful. and the selection is great. i found several 3 gallon & larger planter pots in a wide variety of materials (plastic, wine barrel, terracotta, ceramic) & without holes at the bottom i need to make fish ponds of guppies & mollies. their indoor plant selection is really nice: found peperomia obtusifolia & raindrop; pothos joy, philodendron orange prince, neon pothos - all very healthy & at great price points. the building doesn't seem as new but the selection's really great here. read more

If I could assign a negative rating for this store I would. It is apparent that the training the employees receive does not include customer satisfaction and the management team is not trained on how to appropriately staff. I have tried twice to place a carpet order and install and can not get anyone to help me. The first attempt. I arrived at the store with my elderly father and stood for a total of 20minutes waiting for someone to take my order. I stopped a total of 5 employees to ask them to call overhead for the flooring associate. I heard the pages and no one came. Finally one staff member located the flooring specialist, he was cutting wire. I was told I would need to wait another 10 minutes well maybe 20 minutes. Mind you I saw employees standing around and talking with each other. I am puzzled as to why one of them could not cut the wire, freeing up the floor specialist so they could assist me. Finally I stopped an employee and asked him to schedule someone to come out to my house to measure. I had picked out the carpet, while I waited and could just do an order over the phone. The employee states he can do that and sits down at the computer. While he is talking to me I realize he is not scheduling a measurement appointment but is scheduling me to return to the store at another time so the flooring specialist can talk with me in the store. I said why would I spend the gas to come back when the flooring specialist is here and another staff member, that is not busy ( for instance the 2 guys over there standing and talking) cut wire? He shrugs his shoulders and says I can only schedule you to talk with him in the store. I told him I care for my father who has dementia, I am working on my Master's degree and I work a job that requires over 40 hours a week. I can't keep coming back. I receive a blank stare. I walk out. I wait a couple of weeks and try to call back to schedule an in store appointment with the flooring specialist. I am passed around by a couple of employees on the phone. The second man informs me there is no flooring specialist scheduled on Wednesday but I can come on Tuesday. I again explain my over booked schedule. He states a flooring specialist can come to my house to measure and take my order. I respond great let's schedule that! He states oh I don't have access to schedule that I can only schedule in store appointments with the flooring specialist. I explain I am irritated and tell him about my previous experience. He states yeah at times we are short staffed and people have to do other things. I want to know why Home Depot schedules extra employees to stand around and talk but I don't voice this to him. He sighs into the phone and with the thick sound of disgust on his voice says just a minute. I hang up on him. When did it become common place to have to beg a business to take your money? When did it become acceptable to disrespect a customer and dismiss there needs? If Home Depot is short staffed perhaps more multi modality training needs to take place like in the medical field. Maybe Home Depot needs to up there training, fire there c rated workers and attend to their customers. I have had similar experiences in the other departments at this location. The lack of enthusiasm just seeps from the employees pores. I am putting my foot down. I am not handing over my hard earned money for poor customer service. I am not contributing to the financial success of an organization that does not put customer service and satisfaction high on their list of priorities. I needed a something for a project. Checked online, and yes they had it. In fact, online, it said they had 36 of them in stock. So I drove the 25 miles to the store. I'm glad I printed the webpage it was on. Otherwise I'd have to tell the employee,"You know, that thing". I couldn't find it. A young man tried to help me find it. After a while he got a co-worker to look for it also. They finally concluded that they did not have ANY in stock. I was upset. I went to the service desk to complain. Tried to keep it civil. Young lady at the service desk spent about 5 minutes on the phone. I knew then that I was going to leave empty-handed. Sure enough she got off the phone and gave me the retail workers shrug. Not the first time the website said it was in stock, when it was really not. If you're going there to pickup an item you saw online, call first and get them to check. I usually look for items at HD, and if they don't have it, I go across the street. I won't be going back to HD anytime soon. I made a $250 spite order from the place across the street today. I had some rocks delivered 3 tons, when it got delivered they didn't call ( like they say they would ) I was a Home Depot buying a BBQ got home and there was 3 tons of Rock on my drive way ! This review is more towards the delivery service and they are an independent contractor. I ordered a new dryer through the Home Depot online because my faithful dryer of 20 + years was breaking down. The delivery was scheduled within 3 days , they gave us a window between 9 am - 1 pm. I was happy when I received a call from the delivery guy saying they'll be at my house within 20 minutes by 9:30 am on Saturday because I was expecting it to be much later in the day. Two service guys were fast and professional. They removed and hauled away my old dryer and set up my new one within 10 minutes or maybe even less. They explained how to use the dryer and test ran the dryer. Very impressed with great delivery services. I think I'd be comfortable to order from the Home Depot again in the future. read more

Covid - 19 experience. I understand that thing may be chaotic but luck or major detail cannot be tolerated. I called before placing an order or going into the store to ask the best way to get an item. The guy let me know online would be best and that I could even drive up and get it the next day. So I ordered! The next day came around and it was around 1 pm and I had hear nothing. So I gave them a call and I was then informed by another person that online ordering was awful and takes forever due to the volume of orders. A couple hours later I finally get an email saying my order was ready. So I go to the store (doesn't seem that busy). There was no line to get into the store so I walked in and grabbed some things. My mom went to pay at check out and I asked where to go for a store pick up. Only 1 customer at the counter when I got there and there was no signage in sight so I stood a respectable 6 feet away from the customer being assisted. I was then told by one of the workers at the counter that someone would be right with me. I could see a line forming around the other side of the counter, which I then heard a girl yell out that it was for store returns. The guy that said he would help me ended up leaving because they couldn't find an order. Then another customer got very upset and loud because she had a confirm email but the store could find her item. I then realized I was in the wrong line. So I line up behind everyone else. Even if this wasn't the line at least I would get to talk to somebody. Once I was called up to be assisted turns out this was the line. The girl was wearing her mask incorrectly only covering her mouth. They were not cleaning the card readers. And she touched my id without an attempt to sanitize her hands before or after handling my card. She handed me my item and I departed the store. I made sure to give a call but the manager on duty said they were too busy to handle this situation. I had just been in the store and can confirm that they were definitely gathering in that section and goofing off instead of working to get her orders and that my concern could have been addressed. He just didn't want to. Take a look at the ridiculous signage that is completely facing the wrong way and could only be seen if you turned around from the counter. read more

We purchased an upgraded garage door opener Chamberlain , and it has had to be repaired twice, it came with a warranty but yet they expect you to troubleshoot when there's an issue. No problem if you need me to press buttons to check things, but when they expect the customer to cut wires and do electrical ., that's alittle outrageous to expect. Home Depot refused to send someone to repair even with our warranty. We had to pay out of our pocket for the repair. Terrible customer service,especially the manager BRITNEY never returns your call.
