While searching for a specific item, I approached several employees for assistance. Rather than taking a moment to help or walk me to the product, I was simply pointed toward the other side of the store and left to continue searching on my own. One of the reasons customers choose a neighborhood hardware store over a large box retailer is the expectation of knowledgeable, helpful service. Unfortunately, that was not my experience during this visit. I felt ignored and unimportant as a customer. Based on this experience, this will likely be my last visit to this location. Customer service is what keeps people coming back, and if improvements are not made, I believe the store will continue to lose loyal customers.

Not to mention they had a sale on bags of mulch, 5 bags for $10. Typically these are $5 per bag, which can really add up, so saving $3 per bag is huge! I did the math and with delivery this was by far the cheapest mulch sold in the area. Normally, Gallo winery is the best deal for mulch, but I was saving $70 dollars going with Lowes and that included delivery. I ended up buying 90 bags and got it delivered for $280! We followed the instructions we were given for draining the generator's gas, but, as anyone who owns one knows, it's almost impossible to get every last bit out. Instead of trying to help or being understanding, the staff immediately became rude and argumentative. My husband even offered to take it outside himself to dump the tiny amount that was left, and they completely overreacted, saying they were "late," that it was "against the law," and refused to help us at all. The attitude was unbelievable. After leaving frustrated, I called the Fresno location and spoke with JR, and WOW -- what a difference. JR was professional, calm, understanding, and actually wanted to help solve the problem instead of creating one. That is what customer service is supposed to look like. Because of how we were treated at the Clovis location, I will never shop there again. From now on, I'll gladly drive farther just to go to the Fresno store where customers are treated with respect. Though I may have been treated better if Matt was actually working, but since he can't control how rude his staff is. especially when you're sending that kind of money on a piece of equipment.

I asked another employee, also new ( it was her 2nd day)that couldnt help.... and managed to get the chain cut myself the rest of the way with a multitool on my keychain. I went up front to pay for it, and 1 cashier told me the other line was faster( she was doing a credit card application) . I went to self check out and discovered i cant buy the chain there. I stood in line for another 5 minutes, and the cashier and another employee couldnt figure out how to charge me for 2 feet of chain, I took a picture of their part number and showed it to them. A whole lot of new employees that havent been trained, thinking thats a management problem? 30 minutes to do something that shouldve taken 5-10, and could not accomplish it

We've placed orders from Lowe's, but this time getting to the products itself on-line was quite a challenge. The page kept kicking us out. Perhaps that's a sign, yet we didn't give up. We found success after the third try. (2.75 of 5) Delivery: FedEx delivered our goods. The delivery person was awesome. He had great manners, was professional, and make the transfer seem easy. This wonderful person did not present himself with distress even after picking up three heavy boxes from his truck to our doorstep. (5 of 5) Product: The items we ordered were just okay. The cushions were vacuumed-packed and did not fluff-up like advertised. As far as comfort level, we'd say these are nice for short periods of time. Personally, we feel they may not last very long, but that's on us for not going to check on the product and order only after seeing images of it.
