This is the only Harbor Freight that I have gone to and I absolutely love going there. All the staff is friendly and has a proactive approach to assisting customers. If they see you looking for something they will ask to assist you. That's great customer service. When your done finding all your items at close to dirt cheap and you go to check out. The cashiers are very friendly and like to engage the customers in casual and friendly conversations filled with jokes and smiles. I love the prices, the service, and the people that work so hard to make that store a great customer experience. I will definitely return to this place and I am a loyal customer. Just returned a $3.99 (plus tax) item to the Southgate HF. What an absurd process. When I bought the item I paid cash. Nothing unusual. To return it I was told I would have to provide my driver's license to get cash back. What?? I had my sales receipt. The cashier said it was a new poicy and started preparing to scan the back of my license for all of $4.23 cash to be returned to me. I refused. She said she could only give me store credit if I wouldn't let her scan my license. I refused. She said it was policy. I requested a manager. The manager likewise didn't want to give me my cash. I pointed out that I didn't have to show ID to pay with cash and was not advised at the time of the purchase that I would have to give up my personal information just to get a $4 refund. He finally relented, simultaneously warning me about my next cash purchase. He then handed me four one dollar bills and my receipt. I asked about the tax I paid. He asked if I actually wanted my other 20+ cents. Of course I did! What am I missing??? He threw me a quarter. I left. read more

I bought a pressure washer in January. When it arrived, it was damaged and I returned it to the store and got a replacement. I brought it home and assembled it. Everything was fine. I bought it to pressure wash my cabin in Eastern Arizona, four hundred miles away. Today was the day I wanted to pressure wash my two decks and porch. Got everything ready, followed instructions to the letter, turned it on. It ran for two seconds and stopped. I followed the instructions for resetting GFIC on the plug. The plug shows green and NOTHING happens! A real piece of crap for $100.00. This is the last time Harbor Freight sees my money. And to top it off, their ONLY customer service access is on-line. I like this place because they have a broad variety of tools. Their tools are durable and the company guarantees all of their tools for life. The business is straight forward, if you want tools then they are the place to go. But if you want a visually appealing store with musac on the background then this is not the store for you. I like that they send coupons to my email. We've amassed a decent collection of tools from this place and we have been doing a lot more projects around the home as a result. read more

I've had great experiences with them when I buy in store.  I recently ordered a replacement part on a Thurs. and was told I would get expedited delivery and should receive the part by the following Monday.  Come Friday of that week and no delivery.  I called HF on Friday and was told it scheduled to ship that day, a week after I placed my order.  No explanation, no apology, and he disconnected abruptly.  Very disappointing as I'm waiting on that part so I can finish several projects. read more

My wife and I recently purchased a home. It is an older home, so there is a lot work to do. My father, who lives in another state, introduced me to Harbor Freight on his last trip out here. While, I don't do a lot of shopping at Harbor Freight, they are a good place to find very very cheap supplies and tools. They aren't the greatest quality, but many times they can do the job. I particularly like HF for the painting supplies (tarps, rollers, buckets, etc), and stuff for organization in the garage. This location is very convenient as it is right behind Home Depot. This allows for hitting up HF before a trip to Home Depot where most things costs a heck of a lot more. read more

Drove to this location today in order to purchase a "Yukon 9 Drawer Mobile Workbench. As many of us do, I intended on using the 20% off coupon, which is often provided in various magazines and such. However, the cashier would not accept my coupon for this item. I inquired as to why not? She advised me that this item was an excluded item. I advised the cashier that I would not be making this purchase and left location. Upon getting home, I went to the website and looked at the exclusions listed on the coupon. The listed exclusions did not match my item by brand name nor by product type. As a result of this, I telephoned the location and spoke with a female manager. I explained what had occurred and the manager told me that they considered this a "storage cabinet". Funny, I thought. With my grasp of the English language and various definitions, I explained that a "mobile workbench" is far different than a "storage cabinet" and that I should be allowed to use coupon. The manager was rather flippant in her attitude and chose to argue with me about definitions. As a result of this, I will never go to this location, nor will I purchase anything from Harbor Freight Tools. If they wanted to exclude this item on their coupon they should've done so by brand-name or specific item name like they do for several other products. So much for the customer being right, especially when the customer is right! read more

Nice prices! If you need a cheap tool to get a quick job done this is your store. But if you need a wrench that you plan on handing down to your grandchildren I don't think this is the place for that kind of quality.Also if you plan of shopping here don't forget to use a coupon as well as in store deals of the week. It is so much fun to shop here because they have so many "things" and "stuff" that you did not know you need. For that i'm only going to use it once and dont want to spend a heap of money, shop here. Its not the highest quality stuff, so your professional dudes are gonna criticize you. But them spend $40 on a rubber mallet for one use only. Cheap tools galore. I have bought some power tools, hand tools, and even an air compressor from here. Everything's hit or miss. Some stuff works as well as the name brands and some stuff fall apart after a few uses. I would probably stay away from the more expensive machinery and any precision equipment(I wouldn't use their torque wrench to rebuild my tranny, but I would use it for tires). read more

Always shopped in the Pasadena, CA location. This location is new to me since I just moved to Las Vegas. All of the tools are basically in the same isles, so it's easy to shop, join the Inside Track Club if you are into Tools, you get emails with special prices that the general public dose not get access to. Pays for its self after a a few items. Sometimes you get to shop at the Tent Sales before the general public as well, so you avoid the crowds. Sometimes on weekends with a big sale, the lines can get a little long, so plan accordingly. read more
