This was one of the most disappointing customer service experiences my family has ever had. We purchased an electric 50-gallon water heater that did not work at all. A licensed electrician confirmed the unit was faulty. At no point were my parents informed of any 48-hour return policy or told that major appliance returns were extremely limited. On Tuesday morning, I personally called Lowe's customer service and was issued a case number to return the item. During that call, no return restrictions or strict policies were mentioned. Based on that information, my dad went to the store Tuesday night to return the water heater, only to be told for the first time that it could not be returned due to policy. During this interaction, store employees accused my parents of fraud simply because they had already purchased a replacement water heater from Home Depot. This accusation was completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and deeply upsetting, especially given that the original unit was defective. A manager eventually stepped in and approved store credit only, but made a point to say it was not because my parents asked, which felt unnecessary and disrespectful given the situation. The biggest issue here is lack of transparency. If Lowe's has such a strict policy on major appliances, customers should be clearly informed at purchase and during customer service calls, not only when attempting to return a defective item. Never ever use Lowes for anything. Worst service ever. Went to Lowes on Ft Apache in Spring Valley to buy a vanity. They wrote up the order and had a contractor come out to measure. Lowes never called me about the measurements being completed. So, I went to the store. Luckily, I did that because I found out they had the wrong color vanity on the order. Ok, resolved that. Then they told me the contractor estimate did not include installing the faucet. Talked to the contractor and found out Lowes is incorrect, yes, they install the faucet, part of the job. Lowes told me the contractor would pick up the vanity and bring it the day of install. So, about 5 days later I get a call from Lowes telling me the vanity is in, I can come pick it up. I told Lowes no I was told the contractor was bringing it. Found out the contractor does not do this. So, the manager of Lowes tells me he will do me a favor and deliver the vanity at no charge. Delivery is included so no, the manager is not doing me a favor. Vanity was delivered. Next day contractor comes opens the box and the vanity is damaged. So, here is Lowes resolution, they will come pick up the damaged vanity, refund my money and I can order a new vanity. Seriously, they cannot order a new vanity, deliver it and pick up the damaged one. Lowes insists they cannot do this. No problem, come pick up the vanity, refund my money and I will go somewhere else. I would not use Lowes ever again even if it was free. read more

I approached them for assistance with selecting the right type of wood for a home project, but they seemed completely uninterested in helping me. I was over in Lowes on Decatur, sales people are super nice in the appliance department , and I paid the $40 to have somebody come out to take do the measurements.Prior , I was told it was no more than approximately $380 for insulation and $50 for a dump fee. Here comes the fun. I called them after this contractor came (took) measurements and then Lowes called back and quoted me from this person $1400 to install it!!!!! Wait What ?!?! 1400 freaking hundred dollars. I had to give myself an day to write this because I frankly was just so dumbfounded at the complete lack of competency, organization, and training at my experience at Lowes last night that I was at a sheer loss of words walking out of the store. I lost an hour of time. It took 5+ employees just to resolve the situation. Which ended with me leaving empty handed. How did this happen? Read on. To give a backstory, I wanted to add some mirrors to my School. I was at Lowes a few days prior and saw they had a great price for large, non-beveled mirrors. Two of my students actually volunteered to help me get the mirrors and carry them out, install them with me. Awesome! Let's go to Lowes! I love Lowes! They've done custom cabinetry for me when I used to flip houses and I pretty much had them do the entire kitchen. Fast forward to that night (5/31) We arrive to Lowes, walk over the mirror section. We don't see the ones we want but wait! There are mirrors on the top, stacked on top of the shelves! We saw three, needed four, but we'll grab those and install them and hunt down the rest on the website at other locations, cool. We flag down an employee who gets a lift, gives us the mirrors to purchase, and we go up to the register to pay. Now it should be noted that this employee? BRYAN? The most helpful guy we dealt with. He referred us to the website to locate them vs driving around from Lowes to Lowes. I agreed. He also mentions that it's very random, the inventory of that mirror is NEGATIVE 7. Odd, we note. We roll ourselves up to the front and this is when things just went downhill. We waited in the one register open (....) we had JAMES check us out. He manages to ring us up and the total comes up different per mirror than what we had. We actually took a photo of the barcodes and pricing (Because I've been coming to Lowes for years and just.. have had experiences), and showed him this. He shakes his head, states he needs to ask someone to do a check. He calls for a manager, then he decides to call that department. And then the conversation was this: James: Where did you get these mirrors? Me: The mirror section. James: No, which department? Me: I don't know, where they have the mirrors? James: Which Department????? Me: I don't work here, I don't know! Decor?? James goes and calls decor. James's outfit is peppered with little applique' fabric badges for Customer Service. This would tell me he's been here for a minute. This would suggest that he KNOWS HIS STORE and WHERE they are. At this point, two employees come by. One of which is someone from Decor who states that it's not from Decor but another department. He also tells him that if it's XX price, honor it and give it to me. James then pages for someone. A younger guy with curly hair, (I apologize if I got your name wrong), Rolando? He arrives with a girl. He doesn't look at me, acknowledge my group, just goes to James, James mumbles to him, and he takes off to do SOMETHING. I have no idea, he didn't introduce himself or say how he was here to help, he just took off. The girl? She was a TON of help. She pulled out her phone and went and sat down by the bathrooms. When James walked by and asked her something, she shook her said and stated, "I'm not getting involved in this." Seriously. BRYAN shows up again. He tells James the price we showed was correct, states he helped us get the mirrors down, and we thank him again. He hovers, which I appreciate him not just running away with "It's not my problem." (At this point, it should be noted that this is such a problem that they opened another lane while this issue is ongoing.) Rolando(?) comes back. He states that those mirrors are NOT FOR SALE, they are ALREADY PURCHASED by someone, and takes them away from us. At this point, I'm dumbfounded. My students are FURIOUS at this nonsense, a lame "I'm sorry" from Rolando, no explanation, no "can we make this better" no sense of management, an HOUR of our time wasted?? How many people did it take to NOT fix this? We have here: A cashier who doesn't know his store, wrong price tags, Broken inventory system, employees with no customer interaction skills nor sense of responsibility, complete lack of training, pre-purchased items left on the floor, complete lack of empathy or professionalism! To the girl on her phone who couldn't be bothered - I get it, you're at work and you don't care but damn, take some pride in your work! How do you have a JOB?? This situation should have NEVER happened. It shows a breakdown of communication between your employees, your inventory system, and levels of management. As a former District Manager of a popular coffee chain I would be HORRIFIED if this was my store. This is worthy of Undercover Boss. Do better, Lowes. Much better. read more

I have recently purchased a duplex that needs a whole lot of renovation, and i have been buying all of the materials and supplies I've needed from this particular Lowe's because it is conveniently located near the property. There are some other great customer service Representatives here, but Stephanie is by far the best! She goes above and beyond to ensure that the job is done correctly, and that all of my needs are met. She specifically told me to call her if i had any questions, and she has made accommodations to place special orders for me and ensure that all of my materials are delivered on time. I was overwhelmed with the amount of clearance treasures I found great values i purchased 3 beautiful rose bushes. Social distancing went well as everyone respect it everyone personal space. I did encountered one young gentleman staff playing and singing music out loud during open hours was kind of disappointed. Boundaries need to be set because the lyrics were full of slang and profanity he should be more respectful around customers. Where is all of the indoor plants and all of the GOOD STUFF. I browsed around and then decided on a very nice indoor hanging plant. I returned to the outside area and a very nice older lady who works back there handled my money transaction and I was On my way. Welcome to the worst Lowes in the country. I keep coming here to save money because it's 5 minutes from my motel and closer than Home Depot. But the reality is that after I spend an hour or more waiting on 80% of my visits, I end up losing money. Today I went to buy brick and I ended up waiting in line for over 30 minutes because a guy was doing a phone order and they had only one register open at the pro desk area. The customer left and was gone for 20 minutes while we waited around. So, into the brick, I counted it, they had about 350 left. I go to buy all of it, and the cashier says they have 800 bricks so he can just sell me a pallet, I said ok, but you only appear to have 350, but if you think you have extra, let's do it. They didn't have the extra brick, another half hour waiting, 10 guys at the job site, and another horrible experience. read more

Needed a dryer and went to Lowe's to see what they had. Very happy I did because I scored an amazing deal. I ended up buying a beautiful Samsung set (washer and dryer). Alex assisted us, answered all of our questions and was very patient. We started looking at refrigerators simply out of curiosity and Melanie along with Alex went above and beyond to show us what they had available. Our current refrigerator is a bit outdated and with Alex and Melanies help we also found an amazing deal on an LG smart refrigerator with instaview (meaning you knock on the window and it shows you what's inside). Alex checked us out and gave us our delivery date. We frequently shop at this Lowe's because it's organized, the bathroom are very clean and the staff is helpful.
