Do not shop at Harbor Freight in Murrieta if you value customer service. This was one of the worst retail experiences I have ever had. Before driving to the store, I called at 1:36 PM to confirm a 24 gun safe was in stock and to verify it could be loaded into my truck. I was told to arrive at least 30 minutes before closing and they would load it with a forklift. I arrived at 7:00 PM, a full hour before closing, only to be given the runaround by the supervisor, Angela. After wasting my time, she finally admitted that she was not experienced enough to operate the forklift and told me to come back another day. That was not an option. I had borrowed a truck, driven hours through traffic, and spent over $75 in gas based on the information their employee provided. Instead of taking responsibility or finding a solution, they showed no concern for the inconvenience or expense they caused. I ended up calling two handymen to help load the 380+ pound safe myself, costing me even more time and money. I decided to wait until the next day and speak with the store manager, Tim, hoping he would make things right. Unfortunately, he was no help at all. He offered no solution, no apology, and no effort to address the situation. That conversation confirmed to me that this store has serious customer service and management issues. By the end of the experience, I would have been better off buying the safe from Turner's or Costco. Poor customer service, poor management, and no regard for customers. I will never shop at this location again and would not recommend it to anyone. Also After being told they could not load the safe because the supervisor claimed nobody was available or qualified, I had to spend additional time and money finding my own help. Conveniently located off the 215 FWY (where the 15/215 split in Murrieta), off Murrieta Hot Springs Rd. in the Sam's Club shopping center with plenty of parking. This is my cousin's favorite hardware store (when he's in town from out of the country) so I take him to stock up on tools he needs. Here, you'll find everything for your garage such as power tools, tool boxes, jacks, etc. You can even find home products and garden tools. The store is fully stocked, clean, and organized. Great store, I used to swear off Harbor Freight Tools; however, their quality has came a long way (example: ICON). Store is well organized, clean, and well staffed with staff that appear to enjoy their job. 2/28/23 My husband and I walked into Harbor Freight, at about 1 pm today. It was busy. Within minutes, we found the aisle we needed to be in, and came across Manager, Nick. We had carried in our hitch for our Travel Trailer, trying to find a 3/4 inch torque wrench. Nick immediately sprung into action to help us. He was more knowledgeable than most, and even went so far as to open socket sets to insure that they would work with our hitch. We ended up needing a 29 mm socket and now can use that info to shop. So far we haven't been able to acquire the wrench and socket together. We were told Hemet Store might have an adaptor, but weren't willing to travel there today, due to rain. I appreciated my visit today. Nick is an asset to your company and his employees will go far to follow his lead. Huge shout out to Nick and the Murrieta store. I had a very positive experience today at the Murrieta CA Harbor Freight location So, even though it's a very busy day I see a very clean and organized store! All the merchandise is all neatly kept in its marked bin locations! Then! I see one of the managers hitting the floor helping a customer find merchandise and it's not hard for me to find him to ask what I needed to know and how to find. Also, this guy knew where everything was, helped me find three locations, and let me know what they had and didn't have with certainty! Once It was time to go to the checkout line it was pretty backed up but no fault to the hard working Harbor Freight team. Everyone was working hard, and efficiently like seasoned warriors, so the line moved right along and before I knew it it was MY TURN! SO my cashier was fast, smart, courteous to others, very hard working, funny, relating, caring, and was just a dynamo punch that words alone can't give full justice/ substance! I was impressed. The story isn't over yet! So heading out to my vehicle to hurry back for a blessed job and client I suddenly can't find my wallet! I rifle through my truck, bags, pockets then around the vehicle, to the store, the cart, every logical spot in order! Then I reluctantly do the walk of shame into the store to ask the manager for help and if they'll check the cameras for me. I asked the guy who first provided great customer service, and he was helping to attack the huge demand at one of the cash registers, and I understood that it wouldn't be right away able to help me with the cameras review ( he also relayed that information to me) but he still acknowledged me. And, turns out he still exceeding my expectations with stellar customer service when he quickly informed the main store manager of my need to review the camera system because of the wallet issue. Next, I walked over to the main office in the front and knocked on the door because I realized that she (the main manager) had walked past me. She let me in so I could actually see the monitor and she really put me at ease. She was really nice and courteous and got right to business showing my entire transaction at the register with my wallet. We watched the entire 5 to 10 minute footage and sure enough I put my wallet in my pocket and walked out of the store so I thanked her. Armed with that affirmative information, I went back to my truck and thank God I found my wallet on the top of my high cab truck roof and although my nerves were rocked, it ended up on a good note. Also this awesome review would probably have never happened had I not experienced the full-force of the GOOD SIDE OF THE HARBOR FREIGHT TEAM TODAY! So I'm very pleased to share my gratitude and awesome experience with the public right now because they deserve it. ! read more

Why is it that harbor freight cashiers need to loudly ask for personal information such as phone number name and address  sometimes over and over. My wife had her identity stolen and we still don't know how but I think this policy is a huge violation of your customers privacy.  I do not give my info out to your cashiers anymore and I don't like shopping with harbor freight for this reason. Seems like a pretty good place to check out for lower cost tools and supplies. My husband says they have mostly made-in-China stuff but I saw some name brands. There's a sale, I didn't realize how busy they would be. Thru all the chaos I'm sure he was dealing with, I ran into someone that I could ask a quick question. He tried to help, the 1st spot was empty. He apologized but he was on register and had to return to help his other customer. No problem. About 30min later into my search (now just grabbing anything I see) he re runs back into me. Asks if I found it and then offers ro check the back. Came in on a Sunday morning with a plan to buy a cordless drill for the house for future projects. There are plenty of parking. The store is pretty organized and well kept without tools being all over the place. I ended up buying about 5 other small items that I don't have for my basic tool box at home. There was a good amount of people on a Sunday morning. There were 3 cashiers and the lines moved fairly. Cashier was friendly and used my coupons that I had on my email on my phone for 20% and received a free gift, led flashlight. My best advice would be to sign up for the mailing list to get coupons to buy tools that you think you don't need until you actually need it. False Advertising - Harbor Freight Ripped Me Off. I receive Harbor Freights catalog and noticed a coupon for an Atlas Lawnmower 80v self-propelled with battery and charger for $319.99. I thought to myself what a great deal. It took me a month to save up enough money to buy it. When I got to the register to pay the cashier said that there was a disclaimer and the battery and charger were not including. The coupon says nothing about tool only. Either the store or the company is guilty of false advertising and ripping off the general public. I called the Corporate office, but the automated voice said, "Sorry no one is available on this line." I called customer service and the agent said we she put in the number of the coupon it shows up nonexistent. I told the agent I got it from the catalog that they mailed to me. She said it's better that I email customer service. I emailed customer service and so far no one has responded to my email. I am a valuable and loyal customer of Harbor Freight. I have been for years. It's very disheartening that Harbor Freight would try to cheap the general public with a so called disclaimer when the coupon very clearly states what's included in the package. It's also very petty that the Company is not will to return your Call, email, etc when you bring to concern to their attention. Customer Service is not only vital, but necessary for earning ones trust in business. YES, they carry a lot of tool items that are inferior (aka cheap) compared to other establishments! But, yes they are much CHEAPER in price than other places. If you just do odd jobs around your home and don't have to use said tools excessively then the products here are reliable. If you use said tools for your business or occupation then go elsewhere and pay more for said tools / equipment! Don't bitch here about it. As for customer service - I have not experienced the total crap interactions that some of noted. It very well may have happened, but I personally have not experienced it. My latest trip, on a mid-Sunday morning was actually better than a couple previous adventures (and it is an adventure) here. Went in today to buy a Bauer drain cleaner because of the products reviews. I was explained the return policy which I thought was weird but figured ok, I shouldn't have any problems anyway. Fast forward 3.5 hours later and the snake kinked. The product states it is "heavy duty." This is nowhere near heavy duty. I called the number that I was instructed to call on my receipt and guess what? It was for Thompson's sprayer. Called the Murrieta store and was told that was the correct number. I asked to speak with a manager and was on hold for a total of 15 minutes. I am now stuck with a a defective product because they say for safety reasons I cannot return it to the store (really? How come Lowe's, HomeDepot, Walmart, ACE Hardware does) Save your time and money and give it to Lowe's or Ace Hardware, you'll get better customer service, better products, and be able to return faulty products/equipment. Looking at the negative reviews, there was no surprise at all that my experience was as crappy as it was! My first best advice: DO NOT come here unless you do not need to engage any employees for assistance. I dealt with a gluttonous woman, dark hair, with painted on eyebrows that was utterly disappointing. She said she was the only one there and no one else assisting customers on the sales floor. She did not appear to want to leave her post of standing there doing nothing at the front end; instead told me what aisle the item I was looking for "may be on". Needless to say, I walked out not only empty handed, but completely frustrated for the lack of help. My second better advice: goto ACE Hardware (Do it Best stores). They continue to prove being superior because the employees are actually knowledgeable and will WALK YOU TO EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED. Waste of a trip here. I'll drive further out of my way to ACE and will Pass this location each time in doing so. I am a regular Harbor Freight shopper. I purchased an oil wrench set for taking off oil filters on a car. When I attempted to use it, none of the filter caps would fit my oil filter. I tried to return this and I had a receipt showing the date of purchase. Harbor Freight would not take it back because it was over 90 days. The wrenches were obviously brand new and still in the packaging yet they would not even give me store credit.
