For as long as I can remember, even prior to moving to the central coast, Lowe's has been my go to home store, usually having items I need for a home project. Recently, I've had a few above average experiences, where store employees have help load my truck with pavers and concrete border, which was great customer service, but it's the exception. Wandering aisles looking for help can get frustrating, needing help in plumbing and ending up in electrical because there is no one around has caused me to leave the store more than once. Rarely will I visit Lowe's without knowing what I need and where it is, the mobile app has come in handy. Again, that's a lack of customer service, if I have to turn to my app for help. Returns have been very easy, which is nice, using my Lowe's Reward, especially if I no longer have the receipt. Self checkout is hit and miss, if there is an item that doesn't have a SKU and they need to look it up. Even if I present them with a picture of the item and stock number, they still feel the need to look it up. Policy? Maybe but my time is valuable. Overall, if you don't need sale help, the big box store is average. Go in knowing what you need and it's a good experience. Don't go in expecting knowledgable, readily available sales associates. read more

We needed to purchase a new refrigerator and went into the Paso Robles store to shop. Vincent Sanchez, in Appliances, took care of us from the beginning to end very well. Because of the Memorial Day sale, we were able to buy the item we wanted and an additional refrigerator for the garage at an unbelievable price! Kudos to Mr. Sanchez for his patience and professionalism. I recommend him and this store to anyone in need of new appliances. read more

I recently purchased a log splitter online through Lowe's. The splitter didn't work out and so when I returned it I was thrilled to see how helpful customer service was with my refund. Ordered a freezer. We were given a delivery date. Be home between 12&4pm. OK. 5 different delivery changes later and a very upsetting call with the Manager at Lowe's they still had the delivery date almost two weeks out from the first one. At one point, a Customer Service rep said, "I see it on the truck. I guarantee it will be there tomorrow. I guarantee it." Guess what? No delivery. When they moved it to the 5th date, no one let us know. We would have been waiting for it on Saturday. Called Idlers after our last phone call with the Manager at Lowe's. Hey! Idler's had the very same freezer; $95 cheaper and guess what? It was delivered the next day!! Thank you, Thank you Idler's. Never again, Lowe's. This Lowes has the best customer service. The staff is friendly and helpful. The measure of a store's customer service is when you have problems and how the staff responds to the customer issue. In my case I order 10 pallets of mulch when they had their sale. The mulch was as expected and the color for 8 pallets were perfect. Two of the pallets were not even dyed brown. They were the natural color. I called the garden department up and they were happy to exchange the bags if I bring it in. Well, I'm not loading my car with 130 bags of 20lb mulch, lol; I asked for a manager and she was great in resolving the issue. She arranged for the pallets to be returned and replaced with 2 non-defective dye lot mulch. Also I called later to order two more pallets since the delivery was going to happen and I can save on delivery cost. No problem what so ever, they added two more pallets and just deliverd them today. All I can say is what great customer service and no hassel. This was not their fault but the manufactures fault but Lowes took care of the issue. Best of all I did not have to argue with them at all. I wish I knew the store manager's name so I can give her kudos on this review. I can only say she was awesome! And so was the gentleman in the garden center. I really dislike all the self check out machines they installed. This change is what makes me have to scan my servers license just to just my military discount. As I said before this is a real pain trying to get it out of the leather wallet slot as it's tight and I'm old! Lol. But, I have to admit, Lowe's is a better shopping experience, and it has more SKU's than HD. Things are layed out like a store, not a warehouse. normally i can't be bothered with writing reviews but this store specifically has met me with nothing but terrible customer service. I was waiting to check out and as i'm about to go up to the stand, a worker swoops in and starts talking to whoever was at the checkout stand, so I ended up just going to self checkout which I normally always do because of this, i just didn't feel like walking the extra way this time. Another thing, do not place anything for pickup because it will not be done when it says it will be done. I ordered window tint, just a single box of window tint, and when I showed up at the expected time i was told it "wasn't ready" so i ended up just grabbing it myself and paying for it after cancelling the online order. My experience with Lowe's was horrifying. We built a paver pathway into our new shed. We purchased 14 bags of decomposed granite, stakes, edging and polymeric sand. When we open the sand, we noticed it was damp... not a good sign. Without knowing any better, we installed the damp polymetric sand. We followed the procedure and dampen it after insulation according to instructions. Two day later the sand failed. After educating ourselves on how plyometric sand works... The sand had failed after being exposed to moisture during Paso Robles spring rain. Lowe's stores plyometric sand outdoor in the garden section... a big no no. The sand should be stored in a dry temperature controlled area. We went to Lowe's and talked to the manager (Casey Jones) and explained our problem. She refunded our money but refused to help us with removing the failed sand. We even called corporate to find Help in removing the failed sand, they refused to take responsibility for their mistake. We are so disappointed in Lowe's!!! be aware they do not stand by their product... even when it's their mistake. So sad. read more

Here we go again. No wonder you have only a two star rating. I went yesterday to buy something and usually don't buy plants here. Too expensive. Hello. So I see a sign that says 3 for 10.00 for the vegetable plants. But the sign doesn't say which ones. Just says 11.8 oz pots. So I get to the register and she charges me 5.98 for one of them. Lame. I won't be buying your plants, now or ever again. And why do the employees act like they hate their jobs, with a scowl on their faces and unfriendly. I live in Santa Maria and find its location horrible, however the Paso Robles location is GREAT! It's clean and the customer service is what I expect. I was asked by every employee I got near if I needed help with anything (as is Lowe's policy) which I didn't. I would rather drive the 45 minutes from Santa Maria for the shopping experience as well as having a greater variety of items to shop. The difference in locations comes down to management and it's treatment of employees. Those here seem to appreciate being there and it shows. read more

I am a Yelp Elite for starters. Do not purchase any of your kitchen cabinets from their design center as they not support their product very well after your purchase. A client of mine purchased a whole kitchen design from Steve Round, designer. He is a very nice guy but that is about it. He does not know how to design kitchens let alone getting you replacement parts that are damaged. My client has had nothing but problems. She asked to have the Rep for Kraftmaid to come to the job site to no avail until the store Assistant Manager Waylon Cox stepped into the picture. He was good for a few days. That was about it. After that he has refused to return emails or phone calls to get things straightened out. She is still waiting for replacement parts that were scheduled to be delivered last week. About half of the replacement parts that do show up arrive damaged. Bought a refrigerator end of April. It stopped working the end of May. I spent 6 weeks trying to contact the company by phone and online with no response. Finally with the threat of reversing credit card and a BBB complaint the company MIGHT refund my $ (they prefer a replacement --for the obvious reasons I want a refund. So NOW I will need to find a way to dispose of a mini fridge with a cut off cord. Spent an hour trying to call this store getting put on long hold and then repeatedly disconnected (I guess they hope I wouldn't call back). What terrible service. I went in to Lowes to purchase a new refrigerator. I told the salesmen that I needed a great ice maker, quite and preferably under $1500. He sold me the one on sale without knowing anything about it. I had it delivered and it was SOOO loud and the ice maker was terrible. I went in a few days later and told them that I hate it and I wanted to exchange it for a new one. He said I could not because it was not purchased on a Lowes card. God for bid I paid cash. I told him I would buy a new washer as well. I picked a washer that had been returned. It was on sale for $200 and he said the only thing wrong with it was that it had a broken handle but it had been fixed. I told him I would have my husband come by after work and pick it up and he would bring my credit card. He said that would be fine and that he would clean it up and have it ready for me. He printed out my invoice with everything on it including the washer and the price of $200. When my husband went in five hours later to pick up the washer he told him it had been sold to someone else. When we asked for a manger the manager said he would not do anything about it because I had not paid for it. I had my invoice in my hand with all the information on there and he would not sell me another washer for that price. They said they would sell me another one for $500. That is more than double so how is that making it right. They were soooo rude and it was their fault and they would not make it right. I called corporate and they said I had to take it up with the store. Costco is the only place I will shop because they stand behind their products and always make it right. It was originally scheduled to be delivered tomorrow (Feb., 21), but somehow they couldn't be bothered to call me to let me know they're rescheduling the delivery for next Monday. They sent an email. I'd already made arrangements to be home to take delivery of the fridge, but they're too cowardly to call me on the phone to notify me about the delivery date change. I called the store and spoke with a manager. He said he'd make arrangements to have it delivered this Friday instead of next Monday. He also made excuses about their vendor not getting it to the store on time. They had 8 days! Where the hell is it coming from, the Panama Canal? If they F**k this up again, I'll cancel my order and go somewhere else and never shop there again. read more

My husband and i drove 45 minutes from where we live to the Lowe's store in Paso to purchase a propane grill we saw online and loved. Lowe's had the best price. We arrived on a Monday afternoon. We tried to find an associate to help us get the grill to take it up to the register or to give us a ticket but we were unable to find a single person to help us. We then went up to the register and were met with a young lady with an attitude who was extremely unhelpful. We were told we would need a manager to get the barbeque for us and all of the managers were currently in a meeting, so we would have to wait to be helped. We asked how long that would be and she said she did not know. She gave us a printed ticket and told us to go stand out of the way and wait for a manager. We waited a long time and a manager never came to help us. So, we decided not to purchase the grill and as we left the store we asked for the store managers name. We were given his name. We have now called the store twice to speak to this manager and we have been told he is not in or not available both times. We asked the store for the district managers name or number and the Lowes' store told us they would not give out that information. So, I have called the Lowes' corporate office twice and filed a complaint and I have asked both times for a call back and nobody has called me back. So, needless to say, we drove over to Home Depot and bought a grill there. I will never shop at a Lowe's again. Terrible customer service and overall experience. read more

Worst customer service I've ever encountered! I purchased a new dishwasher a few days ago, it was delivered this morning. However, I paid an extra 36 dollars to also have our old dishwasher taken away. Antonio, a third party worker for Lowes, REFUSED TO TAKE IT! Straight up said he wasn't taking it. At this point I called the store and we were told this wasn't OK and things would be taken care of. Someone there (unsure who) contacted the driver who said he wasn't turning around to come get it. In the meantime, my husband unpackaged the NEW dishwasher and the TOP HALF, side of the dishwasher was COMPLETELY dented....like they dropped it. I called the store back and requested to speak with a manager. ANDREA got on the phone, I let her know it was "broken" (wrong choice of words). Her comment to me "Well, is it broken or is it dented? That's quite a different thing." THEN SHE LAUGHED AT ME! I said this was besides the point, I spent money on something that is not good shape and I want a new one. This was the REAL KICKER.....She told me they wouldn't be here until TOMORROW to take the old and new one away. I said no, absolutely not. Someone needs to come TODAY to pick up the one I PAID to have HAULED AWAY AND pick up the one that is DENTED. SHE claims she has no control of their schedule and can't just have them come back. At this point I handed the phone over to someone else in my family because I couldn't speak to her anymore, I was so LIVID!I couldn't believe the LACK of responsibility this woman was taking, whether it's a THIRD party service OR not....as a manager. Definitely a poor excuse for one and someone else should have her job. The phone call was left at... they wouldn't be coming until tomorrow to pick up BOTH of the dishwashers. All of a sudden, these guys drive up and take away the OLD dishwasher, but refuse to take the NEW ONE! Again, blown away that they STILL were refusing to do their job. Why even come back at this point??? I decided I would be loading the dishwasher up in a truck and dropping it off in front of their store and getting a FULL REFUND! DO NOT LET LOWES INSTALL ANYTHING. December 2020, I bought a new hot water heater at Lowes and had them install it. A few months later, the pilot light would not stay lit. The manufacturer sent their technician out four times, and I was told I was sold the wrong kind of hot water heater for my house. The Lowes installer should have advised me of this. I have contacted the Lowes store in Paso Robles, CA EIGHT TIMES to get this issue addressed. I have had Lowes managers look me in the eye and tell me "Lowes will take care of their customers." Nothing yet....still waiting. I was finally contacted by Lowes Warranty or Installation Department two weeks ago to tell me I would be getting a new hot water heater installed at their expense. I called for an update today and was told absolutely NOTHING has progressed since JUNE 2021, this is late October. I was supposed to get a call back within one hour. Nope, it's been five hours now. I am a VISUALLY-HANDICAPPED SENIOR CITIZEN who has become an expert on lighting pilot lights. Today I filed a complaint with the State of California Consumer Affairs and wrote to the Senior Vice President of Stores at Lowes. Maybe, if I am lucky, I will have a new hot water by the one-year anniversary of my current hot water heater. By the way, I have spent many thousands of dollars at Lowes since I started remodeling my house and re-landscaping nine years ago. I bought every appliance in my house at Lowes. read more

I am so disappointed with the roof installation I ordered through the Lowe's store in Paso Robles, CA. The roofs on my home and my granny cottage were installed in 2019. The first rain came and the granny cottage roof leaked. Contractor came out and "fixed" it. Now, 3 years later, when we are actually getting rain, it is leaking again. The roof on the main house is leaking now, too! I called the customer service line, and they told me that the labor warranty is only good for 2 years and that I should call my homeowner's insurance. They didn't even offer to come inspect to ascertain that it was a labor issue and not a materials issue. I won't go into the hassles I had with the contractor at the time of installation. I am so upset and angry about having to deal with a leaky roof so soon after installation. NEVER again will I hire Lowe's installation services for ANYTHING! Terrible! Don't fall for their financing options... it isn't worth it! Shameful quality of work and shameful customer service. read more

Lowe's is not deserving of a one star review, but this one sure is. You will have to give up your virgin blood for a paper bag, they don't have plastic bags, no handles on the paper bags, and you can only take a Cart outside but not a basket. So if you have a basket, it is awkwardly taken away from you and you wait while they inconveniently and grudgingly go and find you a shopping cart. The self checkout is pitiful and traps you in the checkout area in the way it is set up. It's a guarantee that the automated machine will have some stupid algorithm that will stop you from scanning for unknown reason (like plants can't go on the scale/ how the F do I know that) etc. then the teenager or senior citizen attendant might make there way over to you but most likely you will end up waiting while they take ten minutes to finish a simple transaction at the head station while blocking the exit and people waiting for bags. All this occurs near the bathrooms so you are blessed with the smell and foot traffic of a overly crowded space engineered by a cinnamon roll for a space so large. At least they are 100% consistent at irritating an easy going person every time I muster up the courage to go to this Lowe's. read more

I've been going to Lowe's for the last year. We've had nothing but very good experiences and the products they sell. We frequent this store anywhere from 1-2 times per month. If Home Depot doesn't have it then Lowes usually does (and vice versa). The prices are competitive with Home Depot as well. The one knock we have is their check out area. The self check out is only two registers and it gets congested quickly. I'm then forced to interact with another human being (cashier) which is against my anti-social personality. Usually their cordial so it's not that painful. read more

Horrible service In July 2023 my husband and I ordered 7 windows. they were delivered to my house and the following day the installers came on time however with not the proper equipment to install the windows which were on the second level of the house. The installers were also told they were installing 1 sliding glass door only. so after figuring out what to do they installed the windows, with us supplying the scaffolding and ladders to get to the upper level. they started to install the last window and realized it was ordered backwards(it was an odd shape window). OK fine, they supposedly notified Lowe's of the error to reorder a new one. We called the following week and was told it was not ordered, so they did it that day or soon after. It came and it was ordered wrong again. They ordered it from the wrong company. So they said they would order another one. It is now into November. They scheduled the install date the day after Thanksgiving so we rushed home that morning to meet them at 11am. At 12 they still were not there , around 1pm my husband called and was told that the window was ordered wrong again-the wrong style. We have talked with Lowes with each error and nothing gets done. We just keep repeating our situation, even though we were told the information was in our account. They were going to order the window again-which would be the 4th order of this 1 window. We finally said cancel, since you guys have a hard time placing a correct order. We(on our own) had to put our old window back and seal it up before the rain starts. We have asked to speak with management but we get disconnected or told they will call you. No calls yet I would expect some sort of compensation besides the refund of the window. My partner and I went into Lowe's today prepared to purchase a washing machine. There was a huge sale happening and they were blowing out dented merchandise. We were looking at both the dented and new merchandise. Unfortunately there was a guy who was obviously a dealer there preparing to buy the entire stock of dented. We couldn't even get anyone to say hello to us. We went to the newer washers and did not have any better luck. At least 6 people walked past us but no one would stop even when we TRIED talking to them. We left after 30 minutes. At least they sold to their competition so no one struggling financially can afford a washer at a discount though. read more
