So when I have a chance I've been driving out east to tour what's in the book. This is the oldest operating family run hardware store on LI. My dad and I met Charlie who was one of the employees featured in the book and he let us take a picture with him for instagram. I bought a Stanley. I was trying so hard not to get one but I finally caved. They had 30 oz ones for $40. I don't know if that was a good price or not but I got a nice green one. I wanted to support the store and wasn't sure what else to get I looked around to see if I could get a Christmas gift for someone on my list but didn't really find anything. This is a nice store to visit worth checking out for the historical factor!

I kindly said no thank you & want to establish that I'm not generalizing all employees that work here. But the one man who was at the register was beyond rude. I came in looking for a replacement toilet flapper & was confident that I had picked the right one. The employee proceeded to tell me numerous times that I probably did not get the correct one & that he should take a look at a picture of it with his "trained eye"... of toilet flappers. After I told him numerous times that I know that I got the right one for me, he goes on to tell me that he's sure he'll see me back in here because again, he's sure I didn't get the right one. I work for a local business that often shops at this hardware store as well as multiple others on the East End because I prefer supporting the local businesses instead of Amazon & other online companies etc. I am so disappointed & for the record, I got the right one and most certainly will not be coming back.

When I arrived at the store, he helped me find each item on my list one by one. I really appreciated the personalized attention as I needed a tape measure, spackle, putty, knife, and several other home improvement items. The selection was great, the staff was friendly, and the prices were very good for everything that I got. I like supporting small business.

If you pick up a tool @ 2:00 pm and bring it back @ 8:00 am the next day they will only charge you a half day. Some of the tools are much more expensive then home depot but they are of higher quality. The only reason I dread this place is the counter staff. It is really hard to communicate with these people. If you stay friendly they will help you. Just keep your patients.

In frustration we left indicating our CC company would handle the dispute. MVP told the CC company it was the user & not a malfunctioning chainsaw This was on top of us giving them our old chainsaw to inspect for repairs, first. So in total, we had an obnoxiously condescending attitude when we sought their help. Were lied to us that we should just purchase a new chainsaw. Discarding our old chainsaw, AND refusing to provide a credit/return slip for the defective chainsaw we actually returned AND being out the original chainsaw to seek repairs, elsewhere. Haha Here they are In Riverhead on Rt 58s big commercial road stretching from Popeyes on the east end to the Tanger outlet on the West side. Somewhat in the middle it is just across from Mattress Firm and next to Cancos tile. When looking for real backyard furniture that you'll actually love it's right in here. Quality is and has always been head and shoulders above the rest of Long Island retailers. Bigger couches, longer tables or just plain good looking sets and pieces. Never went in and didn't get exceptional service. Bill was the rep today and convinced me of exactly what I need to come back for when a patio is done. I didn't realize it but now am sure an outdoor sectional is the must have. Ideally in grey. Haha Oversized umbrella stands here if you need weight near a windy place etc..
