Nice hardware store. Good size, lots of good stuff. I needed spray paint, so went over and got some. It's not as cheap as it is elsewhere, but worth it for convenience. This hardware store has a unique way of making someone like me that isn't handy feel like an idiot in the most mean way possible. Today I went to buy a screw armed with the diameter of the screw opening and I was told (meanly) by the woman who "helped" me that the width of the screw doesn't matter only the "thread". Pointing out politely that this makes no sense only got me more attitude from the person helping me. Once I settled on my screw nobody would help me identify the dimensions of the screw in case I wanted to buy a second one. My advise is to drive to riverhead to Home Depot. read more

I tried to return a wheel for a wheelbarrow that was over 30 days. They still carry it, the condition of the return was perfect. I asked for a credit, I would buy a wheelbarrow right here and now - but nope store policy. So I donated it back to them I don't want to landfill it. I try to buy local, but this is ridiculous. I get it store policy, but what would the harm be in making me happy - and a new sale for them. But now I'll never shop there again on principle. I've been a customer for 20 years - it's far easier to shop at the big box stores and much cheaper. This is how our local businesses go out of business. I just checked to see the store hours and I looked at other comments and I just have to say that I have been shopping here for DECADES. People are complaining about customers and employees not wearing masks and someone complained about one of the ladies working there and someone said they ended up going to Riverhead. Hopefully the store will put up a sign saying "We reserve the right to refuse service." These are the people who think they are better than everyone and want their butts kissed. It's time theses IDIOTS get a life. Hopefully when the one IDIOT went to Riverhead they took the other IDIOTS with them and than went back to Manhattan were I am sure they ALL came from. Let them go back and live in the city that has been destroyed by incompetent leaders and leave us and our GREAT community alone This store ALWAYS has everything clearly marked for price and their ENTIRE staff is great. To the store owner "Do NOT change a thing except for the new sign." Also whenever you get back to where you came from you should take reading lessons because EVERYTHING in this store is clearly marked with price and explanation. I asked the cashier to scan my item while I held it. She said she could not and I said where there's a will there's a way. She then said under her breath some comment about cooties. I reminded her we are in the middle of a pandemic. She was rude and obnoxious. I don't think the owner of this franchise would be happy to hear that their employees think the pandemic is a hoax and view their political opinions to customers. read more

After a run around with Lowes (long story) . I checked out True Value in Westhampton I purchased a better Weber Grill, same price as the lesser modelTrue Value assembled and delivered in less than 24 hours! When they dropped it off they explained how to use it ,hooked up new tank, took away old grill. I couldn't have asked for better service. I highly recommend this store for this and more reasons than I can count read more

I'm a customer, not a human bank. This morning I brought two large porch screens in for repair. The clerk told me the charge was $68.00. Fine. Payable in advance. No middle ground for a $30 deposit. Unacceptable. I understand that TV gets stiffed periodically, yet people with nearby homes who are regular TV shoppers shouldn't be treated with such business mistrust. Would this have happened if I had deep local roots instead of being seen, correctly, as a second home owner? We know the answer, don't we? The screens now go a few miles east where repair deposits are accepted and weekenders are treated the same as locals. read more
