Purchased a new GE stackable laundry unit which they delivered. When the plumber hooked up the dryer, it ran but wouldn't heat. So I called Dunrite and was told they could either give me a new one or just have someone come and look at it - it probably wasn't a big problem. So I agreed to have someone look at it. They us Bodewell appliance services so they came and ordered 3 parts which were delivered to the house. when they came back to actually fix the dryer - they said they didn't need the parts - it was just a loose connection. At this point, I contacted Dunrite and said I just wanted a new unit. HOWEVER THEY FAILED TO MENTION TO ME DURING OUR ORIGINAL CONVERSATION THAT ONCE SERVICE COMES, DUNRITE CAN'T REPLACE THE UNIT. They are no longer involved - how unfortunate - they assured me that they would love to help me - however their hands are tied because now I was dealing with Bodewell. Dunrite was no longer responsible for the product they sold to me. This would have been so much easier if they had told me that when I was deciding whether to have it replaced or just try fixing it. My POS Samsung Refrigerator (purchased from Best Buy) crapped out for the second time and yet again just before Fourth of July weekend. Last time it was a five week saga to get it fixed so this time my wife said call Dun Rite for a new one because all her friends swear by them. Over the phone salesman Lon Shomer gave me some options and recommended a couple of manufacturers. I came in and settled on Kitchenaid DW because Lon recommended it and it matches our dishwasher (with which my POS Samsung Refrigerator was purchased but also crapped out before five year warranty expired. Insurance company's repair guys came three times and never fixed the DW and pronounced it unfixable. I asked insurer to replace but they refused saying it was now past warranty expiration although the problem occurred before expiration and was never fixed! I learned that many repair guys will not even make a repair call on Samsung appliances. TVs and cell phones good, kitchen and laundry, fuhgataboutit! Anyway, Lon Shomer was a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend. Dun Rite's delivery guys were fantastic- came when they were supposed to, carted the fridge up some steps, removed and replaced door hardware to get the 36 inch wide fridge thru, connected the ice maker water line, set up the shelves, cleaned up afterwards and hauled the old fridge to the dump. Reviews are not easy to place. 10/23 purchased MAYTAG horror.. MVW5430mvw, ser. cc3000480 1st call not wringing. 4-5 inches in 18 to 24 inch tub. Doesn't cover clothing..........,1/4 load of wash done. They did nothing finally told they were going to send Callahan repair. Another horror. 1st Maytag guy did not have a clue as to machine and had us spend almost $500 for a extra water pipe... Made no sense. But did. 40 years of washers and not one did we have this with. I was not happy. Why should I not have been told at purchasing a almost $2000 washer and dryer... Today they sent CALLAHAN, PETE, a run abusive horror. Callahan said I was rude. I was not there during the telephone call. I left because of his abuse. Machine in Garage... Came back in when he said finished. Refused his name nor receipt of his service call.... I had told him that if I wanted to open the washer for some reason, all the water would leave the machine. Then he was butter would melt in his mouth... You pushed the button to hard... Well when he left all the water EMPTIED OUT OF THE MACHINE... I called Callahan and she was completely rude. Then I called Dunrite and Stephanie could careless. I was wasting her time... Can do a quarter load of wash. Not a family load or thin blanket... My Granddaughter and Great Granddaughter have been waiting for there plumber to put there water line in... 6 mos old baby and I was going to go to DUNRITE and by a new washer and dryer for them.. Approximately four years ago, we were purchasing a new home. It was suggested that we visit Dun-Rite Appliances since they were relatively close by. I'm so glad we did. Scott and his staff couldn't have been nicer to us. We weren't forced to buy anything that we didn't want - no pressure. They delivered when they said they would. We are still pleased with the products and they even came to the home to check on what was done, including the beautiful grill that we have outside. They even set us up with the plumber who installed a gas line outside for the grill. They are friendly, decent people. They are essentially family owned, but even if not related, the staff is always willing to assist you. It's been four years and I still go back for the filter replacement parts just because it's nice to see people who will remember you even after the transaction is completed. Dun-Rite installers put a very large scratch in our floors when installing a new microwave. The service techs brought the new appliance in on a dolly but did not bring a drop cloth and placed the old unit right on the floor. When they went to lift it onto the dolly they dragged it and caused the scratch which I witnessed. Not only did they damage the floor but they did a super rush job of installation and did not even stay to test the unit (which did not work). It was as if they were trying to break a record for the fastest replacement of a microwave - or that they realized they scratched the floor and wanted to get out as fast as they could. I called Dun-Rite to complain immediately after the first team left. They did send another crew out which did get my microwave working but they refused to take responsibility for the floor. Megan, the customer service rep, claimed that they were not responsible because 1) the scratch possibly could have been caused by someone else 2) no one has ever made a claim that Dun-Rite damaged their floors and 3) how could a microwave cause a scratch? So even though I described exactly what their installers did and pointed out the lack of a drop cloth and the many ways a metal appliance can damage a floor this customer was not "right" in their opinion and thus they are not responsible. I will admit that I did not find the scratch until the morning and the sunlight showed the huge scratch, but I also realized that the damage was where no drop cloth was placed and exactly where tech dragged the appliance. I contacted my HOA service rep within 24 hours to report the damage and they contacted Dun-Rite who said they had photos which proved they were not responsible - of socket covers missing on my backsplash. My backsplash had been installed just prior and the grout was drying, hence the missing covers. This "proved" another contractor could have done the damage. I spent at least an hour on the phone with both Dun Rite and HOA explaining what happened. At one point Megan began to chastise me for speaking badly about her stellar crews. (!) They only post 5 star reviews on their site so I am hoping this will help some consumer in the future. My advise is go elsewhere. If you do use them video tape everything and check for damage. Do not have any other contractors on site they can blame. They are disrespectful and will come up with any excuse to not own up for the accidents of their crew. read more

We went to Dunrite when we remodeled our kitchen. They were super helpful and knowledgeable. During this time of shortages the oven we ordered was months late. We were coming up to the holidays with no stove. The people at Dunrite made it right by getting us a loaner so we could have family over. This place was recommended to us by a family member and as we're big supporters of local businesses, we decided to purchase our washer from here. Now this isn't necessarily a knock on the shop itself but as we were indifferent on which washer to choose, we took a recommendation on the Electrolux as they stated it was a "great washer." As it turns out, the washer washes fine but after not even a year, we've seen mold growing on the inner rubber ring (it's a front load). Seeing as it was still under warranty, we called them up and they sent a guy over the next day. Here's where it gets interesting: he comes in, takes a quick look at the washer and tells us this: "You need to keep the door open when it's not running and you also need to use a different, name brand, pod that goes right in the washer. Forget the Costco detergent, that creates too many suds." Too many suds? Keep the door open? Really? This is the magical solution to our increasing mold problem on a brand new washer? Maybe I'm being naive but aren't you supposed to see suds on a washer? We had a Whirlpool Duet for 8 years and never had a mold issue so this was shocking to us. So take this review for what it's worth as it's not a total knock on their service (which is good); it just seems a little odd to send a rep out on a house call only to provide some vague and dubious answers to seemingly basic washer questions. read more

This company was fantastic. Easy to make the appointment. Technician arrived on time, fixed my dryer in about 30 minutes. He was outfitted with many parts which I appreciated. It's always annoying when they come look, and say, "I'll be back in a week with the part". I know you can't plan for every situation, but this was a nice change. The technician was fast, competent and wore a mask (I did too). Price was very reasonable, and I hadn't even purchased the dryer from them. If I could give this business Zero Stars, I would. I received terrible customer service. The salesman, Eric, sold me a gas dryer and did not bother to find out what kind of venting system I have. I am not the professional, so I did not know this was an issue until the deliveryman showed up and told me that Eric sold me the wrong type of dryer. It could not be installed. No one at the store did anything to help me resolve this problem. Eric promised to call me back, but he never did. The owner, Scott never contacted me. They knew I was an unhappy customer, but no one did anything to try to fix the situation even tho the salesman made a mistake. I did not get an apology. I demanded a full refund, and I got it, but it was like no one even cared about losing my business. If they treat everyone the way they treated me, they will not be in business much longer. Scott told the delivery man that no one makes the kind of dryer I need for my venting system, but I spoke to salesmen at Lowe's and at Best Buy and both of them told me that they they are indeed still manufactured (left side venting).
