Love these "small box" hardware stores so much better than the "big boxes (BBs)"! Needed a simple…read moresink drain pop up rod. The BBs both listed some one-size-fits-all that reviews were very mixed on. Checked Miles Ace and looks like they had one (for about a $1 cheaper!) that had 2 sets of components for multiple fits. Walked in, immediately greeted by an offer to help, stated what I was looking for and got a personal escort right to the item I needed. In and out in about 5 minutes. Part worked exactly as a replacement for broken item. Miles is a bit further for me than another small box HW store I frequent, but Miles having an online search feature immediately tells me if they have what I need before driving out, which sways me over to them when looking for a unique item.

I have a single key to an old aftermarket Givi motorcycle trunk. These keys are notoriously hard…read moreto find/replicate. I finally found blanks, but even with the original and new blanks, I couldn't get it copied. I tried a half a dozen big box stores. It seems all the current machines require that the key matches a pre-defined blank number in the machine database (which mine does not). A perfect example of technology making things more difficult rather than easier. I saw this Ace Hardware on my way home yesterday and stopped in, hoping they could copy it. Well, they had an old key cutting machine - the kind that just duplicates whatever you put in it. The guy made me 2 copies, both of which work perfectly and charged me $0. That's right, $0. Way to go, Miles Ace Hardware - great customer service. You made a customer for life!

Unfortunately, the two managers I dealt with previously need to be retrained. They told me the store only accepted returns within 48 hours and also claimed the return couldn't be processed because the lawn mower had been used. Neither of those explanations turned out to be true. When I returned, a new associate at the returns desk processed everything without claiming the computer prevented the return or giving any of the excuses I was previously told. It became clear that the information the two managers gave me was false. I appreciate Cornell's professionalism and assistance in making things right. I hope the other managers receive additional training so future customers are given accurate information.

This could have been better. It gets 2 stars because the…read morenight manager on duty, and the store associate Tameka, are awesome and rock! Otherwise, the Camp Creek store gets burned here, because their warehouse and their ability to answer customers and give real, solid answers, and "know what's going on" is pretty terrible. Also, in my experience, I've had to wait on hold and get passed around to at least 3 people - per phone call - to this store. And the daytime managers don't answer, and if you get put on hold, you can just sit there and wait... but let's just put it this way... I gave up and hung up at least 3 times after sitting on hold for over 20 minutes. in 24 hours, I've been on hold or tried to talk to Camp Creek store every time to see "what's up?"... for a cumulative 3 hours+ Then the rest of this review is for LOWE'S CORPORATE: Lowe's corporate policy is stealing from customers, performing unscrupulous business practices that should be considered theft by diversion or at the least money laundering. On Saturday, 07/16/2026 I purchased a Frigidaire 20 cubic foot freezer from Douglasville, GA Lowes store. (7001 Douglas Blvd, Douglasville, GA 30135 - phone 770 920 9022) I paid for haul away of an old freezer ($79.00) I paid a delivery fee ($39.00) I paid full price for the new freezer ($899.00) I paid for a 5 year warranty ($159.97) The new freezer was ordered and delivered under Lowe's tracking #200730197261850328 The new freezer was delivered on Monday July 20, 2026 The new freezer was NOT delivered from the Douglasville store inventory. The new freezer was delivered from Camp Creek Store inventory. (3625 N Commerce Dr, East Point, GA 30344 with phone 404-838-2000) This is where the trouble begins. The new freezer had a bad seal from the Frigidaire factory. Icicles formed within 12 hours, and frost overtook the entirety of the inside back wall. It is supposed to be a frost free freezer. I called Lowe's customer service at (800) 445-6937 to return it according to their 48 hour return policy window. I was told only Camp Creek store can order the pickup of the defective new unit, because it came from their store inventory. Camp Creek store obliged and said they could pick it up on 07/23/2026. Camp Creek store picked it up on 07/23/2026 at 12pm - but did not mark that they picked it up until 3pm 07/24/2026 This return order delivery # is 201715202262033739 This is where it gets worse. I was told that I cannot have my money back from the STORE I GAVE MY MONEY TO (Douglasville) - because the freezer actually came from the Camp Creek store inventory. Camp Creek does not answer their phones, puts you on hold, and hang up on you or wait just put you on hold until you give up and hang up. I held also held on the phone with them from a corporate customer support representative for over a cumulative 1.5 hours. Totaling nearly 3 hour of holding with Camp Creek over 24 hours. This is where the theft comes in, now. I was emailed a receipt telling I will expect a gift card in the mail - from Camp Creek Lowe's - for ONLY THE VALUE OF THE FREEZER. This gift card transaction # is 201715205262041656 At this point I am still owed 159.97 + 39.00 delivery. (In fairness I am not asking for recycled appliance fee returned, as that did occur) I was told by corporate customer service support that to get my money back for the 5 year warranty, that I have to wait until the Douglasville calls me back to tell me how they're going to send me the additional money. When I asked for at transaction number from corporate for the 5 year warranty money back, I was told they can't give me that, and only the Douglasville store can tell me that. Corporate customer service is useless too now. Fine. I'll get a gift card eventually (I better!) in the mail. Fine. I'll get (hopefully) the 5 year warranty replacement too. However, I was told by corporate that the $39 delivery fee is completely non-refundable, and that's just the way it is. If this is all true, it's theft. Of consumer's money and time. It's not my fault as the consumer that Frigidaire produced a faulty product. I am robbed of this money, because Lowe's is corrupt and not decent enough to return a delivery fee, FOR A PRODUCT THAT WAS DEFECTIVE FROM THE FIRST DAY. That's their money to lose, NOT MINE. Lowe's is actively punishing consumers and taking money from them, under this "non refundable" service, that as far as I'm concerned is fraudulent... when they're out here delivering defective products to consumers. Lowe's can do better, and they should do better. The AI bot is absolutely useless, and the delivery and returns are terrible because of "the system" I gave one Lowe's store money. Lowe's shipped me a defective product... and then instead of giving all the money back for a DEFECTIVE PRODUCT... it's locked to a gift card to their corporation! I still HAVE TO SPEND THE MONEY WITH LOWE'S ON SOMETHING ELSE........ nah bruh. that's not cool!

I think one of the aspects that I've enjoyed most about moving outside of the city, is the fact…read morethat you have wonderful small business stores. My husband and I have really enjoyed getting to know the folks at Barnes hardware store. We just bought a house this past summer about 7 minutes from this store, and have had so many great experiences. Our first encounter here, we knew that we needed a lawn mower. Desperately. Our home sits on a half acre lot, and we were starting to look like those neighbors that you really wish had NOT moved in. We finally had enough cash reserves after dumping nearly all we had into down payments. We knew that if we got a push mower, it would take a full day of "family togetherness" for us to accomplish the task of mowing our lawn. We decided to check out Barnes, since it looked like a nice little place right off of Veterans Memorial. We received warm greetings right upon entering the store. We made our inquiries on riding mowers, and sure enough- they had a nice one that had recently been traded in and fixed up by their mechanics. Steve, who owns the store with his sweet wife, was not on location that day, and so his wife got him on the phone for us so that we could get the specs on the mower, and work out a reasonable price. In the end, we ended up getting a great little mower that has a cart that can be attached for half the price of a new one. Talk about being fortunate! (PS- I can't wait until this summer. I fully intend on rocking out to P!ink's "Rock Star" while mowing). As is the case with many smaller stores- They don't have everything. But you know what? I don't care. Sure- we cheat on them every once and a while by going to the big box hardware stores, but not until we've assured that they don't have exactly what we're looking for. Time and again this little hardware store has proven that they will take the time to help us. None of this "push the button and we'll have a store associate with you in a few minutes" stuff. One additional note- They're very competitive price wise with larger home improvement/hardware stores. I was very impressed with their seed prices (they buy in bulk locally) when we dropped in this past week.

Never having to swap/return anything from Barnes before this was my 1st time. I was asked to leave the boots also left proof of purchase and contact info and he would have Thorogood rep look at them. After 4-5 weeks I had to contact the store only to be told to pickup the boots they would not exchange them. I respectfully expressed my displeasure and now have these boots on a shelf in my garage to remind me and anyone else why I don 't do purchase nor recommend Barnes HW anymore.
