ACE IS THE BEST!!! Ace is usually my go to for hardware supplies, but they were closed on Sunday. I went to the 2 popular big box stores and could not find one employee to help me. I was looking for a component to fit a chandelier, and even brought the fixtures to make it easier for the associates. With no assistance; I purchased parts that I felt could work... wrong. Went to Ace in East Point and got assistance immediately. Tommy was so patient and helpful. From now on I will save my time, money, and peace. I don't mind the Sunday closing. Came in looking for screw extractor for a few stripped bolts. When I walked in a was greeted by the staff. I walked around looking for the extractors for about a minute when one of the staff members saw me and asked if I needed any help. I explained my problem and he knew immediately was to get me. East Point Hardware has moved into brand new, spacious digs right next door to the old location. The store is great and nicely laid out. I'm sure there are more offerings, but that may be an illusion -- there was so much crammed into the old store. It's still, though, hit or miss when it comes to finding staff who know what they're talking about. On a recent visit, a staffer sold me sheet metal screws for a job that involved mounting a fixture on wood. (The nature of the project was explained.) The same staffer was unfamiliar with enzyme drain cleaners, though the store stocks them, and that staffer told me the store did not have anything like a hard wood handle or dowel, though I found hickory handles in the garden tools area. I'm delighted that Sonny (the owner) has made the commitment to East Point, and I will continue, when I can, to give my business to East Point Hardware over Lowe's or Home Depot, but the service that often wins customers for small businesses is far from reliable at EP Hardware. read more

I have been a customer all of my life and until today I would have given a 5+ rating. I feel the cashier was being sarcastic to me. She asked if I needed a bag for my purchases. I said yes because I was walking. She gave me a tiny bag for an O-ring but nothing for my weed-eater line. I said never mind and she said,Oh, do you want a bigger bag ? I have to admit my experience was not so comparable with what other people have reported here yes I found the staff to be very knowledgeable I think they're quite competent however the service or level of service that I got was really not very friendly. I simply went back to have some pain that I bought two weeks ago pretended to a darker color and the first response I got was they couldn't do anything to help which I thought was absolutely ridiculous because I can go to any old Home Depot and get the same thing done with their paint . I don't know if that's a race issue or what but they were simply not very friendly to me at all. I can't say never got the feeling in the two visits I've had here that people were really trying to help me. I went to East Point Hardware for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. It is amazing how much they have in their store! I was in need of a special light bulb for a ceiling fan and can thank Debbie for finding it. She was very helpful and professional and the friendly atmosphere reminds me of a small town business.
