I had a tour with Emily for a unit facing the water. The tour was pleasant and she was more than accommodating to us. We drove through and I did not see the garbage that everyone keeps writing about so maybe they hid it before we came. We took a look at flagship 5 and the pricing is roughly $3200. I like the fact their amenities are available to renters. I can't pay for a pool and gym and not have access to it. The 1 star missing is because they are in close proximity to the other property and I had a terrible experience over there. I love the water but I don't like the distance from the tunnel. I also do not like that little town. The upside is they offer fitness classes with free instructors. Nice area to jog. Won't break the bank as I further my education. More square feet for my buck. That's my real goal. Get more square feet for 3k! FYI these are the only two properties by the water. One more building is opening next to Harbor Pointe but there's no rental information posted as of yet. And it's closer to the Costco. read more

I would not recommend this property based solely on my experience with the leasing office staff. They are consistently rude, dismissive, and unprofessional toward tenants. No matter how nice the property may be, the way residents are treated by management makes a huge difference. Be careful with Pontis Property Management! We had an extremely concerning--and now very disappointing--experience with this company while applying for an apartment at Harbor Pointe in New Jersey, which they manage. On July 1st, the leasing agent, Briana, sent us what was supposed to be our application, but it actually belonged to another couple. This was a serious privacy breach. If they could send us someone else's personal information, how can we trust that ours wasn't mishandled as well? We immediately canceled our application and requested a refund. At first, Briana assured us our information was not compromised and confirmed we would receive a refund check within 10 days. That check never came. After Briana stopped responding, we spoke with two other staff members--both confirmed a refund was coming. Yet two months later, nothing. When we followed up again, we were told by another employee, Cinnamon, that we were not eligible for a refund because we canceled after 72 hours (we canceled on day 4, immediately after receiving the wrong documents). Even after explaining the situation and the privacy breach, she dismissed our concerns, refused to connect us with a supervisor, and repeated their "policy." When we asked what their policy is for mishandling applicants' private information, she had no answer. This company has shown us they are careless with sensitive data, inconsistent in communication, and unwilling to take responsibility for their mistakes. I lived at Harbor Pointe - Bayonne for two years and overall, it was a good experience. I had a renovated one bedroom/one bathroom apartment on the lower floor. For the first year, I was paying about $1,700 which for the area, was great! The second year, rent went up to 1,900 and by the third year, Harbor Pointe wanted to charge $2,400 for that same 1 bedroom/1 bathroom! For $2,400 I think downtown JC is a way better option as you'll be a lot closer to NYC and all local PATH stops. Although my two years here were okay, there were some things that def need to be addressed. For one, a bulk of the people in management aren't great helpers. They all seem to have an extreme attitude for things they were hired to do! If you don't want to do the work, LEAVE. I will say, Tameka has always been super helpful though. However, there's a guy there who is no help whatsoever. If you can get a hold of someone who cares about your concerns, then you'll be okay in that area. Onto the actual property, Harbor Pointe def needs some sprucing up in a few areas! Although the renovated apartments are super nice, the walls are thin!! There were many times I was able to hear every single thing that went on in a neighbors apartment. Also, living on the first floor was never ideal especially in the summer as ants seemed to frequently visit through the balcony! One of my biggest annoyance was paying $35 for "valet" trash services! Uh, I can walk the trash a total of 10 steps to the garbage myself and there was truly never a need for that. There were also many times I would leave my garbage out and it was not picked up!! When I first got there, the fire alarm would go off every single morning and that was extremely inconvenient at 2 and 3 am! Something must have been done because it was as if it stopped out of nowhere ( no complaining of course)! The parking situation at Harbor Pointe was the worst! The BPD sits and waits all night to give people parking tickets for parking too close to the stop sign, etc. but with construction going on and no one wanting to pay an arm and a leg (about $175) for garage parking, everyone AND I MEAN EVERYONE resorted to street parking. On any given night, you could be driving around for 20 minutes looking for a good space. I liked that Harbor Pointe offered shuttle services to downtown JC which was super convenient working in NYC. That for me was one of the main bonuses for living here. Harbor Pointe really was a decent place to live if you have a commute to NYC or something in the close vicinity. They are certainly building the area up with all the other new additions, townhouses, and apartment complexes so it may also get better with time since they now will realize they have steeper competition! It was a good place to live for two years, not the best but certainly not the worse! All things I've addressed to management while sometimes delayed in response were answered. I will add, be careful ordering packages because I had two packages stolen and nothing was done about that. I would say Harbor Pointe is good for a year or two, but after you realize how much money you're spending on rent, you will quickly be out. For $2,400/ month, you should take yourself to downtown JC where you're much closer to everything. read more

My partner and I were in search for a nice apartment for our first place together. We scheduled a tour, and loved the vibes of the place as well as the apartments we saw. We got home that night and applied (Side Note: the apartment layout we wanted at the time was currently occupied by another tenant so we couldn't see it the day of our tour, but we decided to apply anyway). Originally we were told that the apartment had carpet and we saw a similar layout, however it wasn't exact. The approval process was fairly quick and the leasing office communicated with us the entire time. Harbor Pointe was literally the first and only place we toured. In the weeks leading up to our move-in date the staff was more than helpful. The week before we even found out that our apartment was newly renovated and with no carpet! (my partner was super excited about that) Our move in process was very smooth and there were no issues. The only thing I had to do was place a work order in for my sink and it was repaired less than a week later. Every staff member we dealt with has been helpful, kind, and honest. You can tell they care about their jobs and the community of residents they're serving. This new management staff is on top of it!!! I cannot tell people enough, being kind and understanding goes a long way! In the month or so that we have been living at Harbor Pointe, I haven't had any trouble parking on the street and my packages have made it to the mailroom with no issue. The max time I have looked for a parking spot is probably 5 minutes and I haven't walked more than a block to the front door of my building. The amenities are gorgeous and well kept by staff. The community is super quiet and neighbors are very friendly and courteous. Garbage in the trash room is removed and cleaned daily. A big shoutout to Danielle Matthews for being amazing and answering literally every question we had and continue to have. Was looking for nice city apartments to check out for the day and Harbor Pointe is not it. First, we entered the door and it was surprisingly family-friendly. We had a good time looking at apartments and the leasing manager was okay. Then, we checked out the apartments we were looking at and GOSH!! The door was all scratchy and it looked HORRIBLE!! Then, we entered it was very dirty and never cleaned by anyone I checked out the dishwasher and it was so filthy from the last person that had used it and then the bathroom had a giant crap from the last person that used it. The whole management system is so gross and they maintain things horribly with both building management and not cleaning up after anyone who uses this stuff. No one even cleaned the toilet. Unbelievable. So yeah, basically not one of the apartments on the other side of town to rent. Horrible. 1 out of 5. read more

As if Cars getting broken into IN THE GARAGE, apartments being broken into through the balcony, and packages getting stolen weren't bad enough. TL;DR DO NOT RENT HERE. Management (Ludi Hoxha) is unresponsive and doesn't care about renters' feedback, and the pretty-looking buildings and amenities are just facades for a poorly run and maintained property. I normally don't pay attention to reviews for rentals because I always assume they're from people who didn't follow their lease rules, but in this case, they're all true. We liked the pretty-looking amenities and location, so we looked past the red flag that Greystar management made us sign an 18-month lease (told us that was the only one they had available). There aren't enough parking spots for the number of cars, their fire alarm system began malfunctioning and was going off at all hours of the day and night, our packages were getting stolen and management wouldn't give us access to the cameras, and the amenities were constantly out of order or in poor condition (ex. the shuttles always had tons of warning lights from not being serviced, and gym equipment was constantly broken). We were required to give 60 days notice on whether we would renew our lease and, after we couldn't find anything in time, resigned for another 12 months out of necessity. Less than a week after we signed, management changed from Greystar to Pontis. We were not given an option to renegotiate our lease, and with the other problems, we decided to break our lease. We gave management 60 days notice, and it was terrible. We still never got information about our stolen packages, we never received move out instructions (despite asking via email and in person multiple times), they tried to make us pay 2 months rent (over $3600) as a penalty which was NOT in our lease agreement, and overall ignored us. We turned our keys in a full 2 weeks early just to be rid of the place sooner. Our only good experience was with the actual maintenance crew, who were always very nice and prompt with requests for individual apartment units. The problem is they are clearly not decision makers and have no say in fixing the systematic problems that make this overall property a problem to live at. read more

My experience at Harbor Pointe has been very difficult. It's a beautiful complex on the outside but the management of the property is a nightmare. I relocated from FL and a week before I was due to move in I received a called stating the apartment wasn't ready and my move in date was changed. This affected the date of delivery for the movers which I had to pay additional cost to be changed. After moving in the hot water went out for over 2 weeks, the washer didn't work, the missing vertical blinds that management was supposed to replace that day were actually not replaced for 8 weeks after moving in. The buzzer/intercom has never worked, so I have to go down from the 4th floor to open the door for my guest. I recently asked for an additional key fob since the buzzer is broken- they don't have anymore of those either. I have lived here for 10 months and just received the "valet trash can" in October. The elevator has gone out at least 4 times since I've lived here AND THE FIRE ALARM GOES OFF CONSTANTLY ANY TIME OF DAY OR NIGHT!!! The doors are constantly broken which is a safety liability, the garage door is wide open for any one to enter. Communication with the office is impossible, there is no direct number and they don't respond to emails. You cannot even make a simple maintenance request without going to the office in person. I've emailed and complained so many times with no response, it's ridiculous. I think the worst part of it all is it's documented, and Harbor Pointe is AWARE. They just don't care. The blatant disregard, neglect, and lack of respect from the management is egregious. The treatment I've received here is disgusting, and unwarranted. Note to anyone planning on applying for an apartment - READ THE FINE PRINT! This isn't like a typical application process - they ask you to put down a $750 deposit along with an $85 dollar application fee. If you don't withdraw your application within 24-48 hours, you will likely not get a large portion of that $835 back. Additionally the lease divulges many hidden fees like service fees and trash fees, so your monthly rent will be $100+ more than advertised. I'd recommended not applying until making sure you do your due diligence of seeing a unit (most are 10 years old and carpeted), asking up front about any additional fees, and being 100% committed to living in a community with overwhelmingly terrible reviews. With all of the new developments and options in the Bayonne area now, I hope that Harbour Pointe will change its corrupt ways. I've been living at Harbor Pointe for a year now and like any other living situations, there will be a wide variety of pros and cons for everyone's individual situations. I work in manhattan and thought this was an ideal living situation that would get me a substantial "bang for my buck." It is nice that the new management company is committed to making renovations to the common areas and a number of apartments. Some situations aren't as ideal as others but it has been helpful to have a close relationship with my sales representative Jason Estrella, who has made living here as easy as possible for me. He always makes sure that I am taken care of, if it is anything within his control, and I can definitely appreciate his honest transparency and ability to effectively manage my expectations throughout our engagements. The shuttle company's punctuality is annoying at times, and there are a few select residents who aren't very considerate of others, but If you are looking for an affordable place to live with much nicer finishes than others in its price range in JC or Hoboken, I would suggest giving Jason a call/visit. read more

Throughout the whole process I had to contact them 3-4 times, each time, before I heard a response. They took 4-5 days to send me the link to my application. They had me pay the security deposit BEFORE I was even credit checked for the apartment. They denied me the apartment because we didn't send more proof then they even asked for originally. THEN charged us a fee because it was 48 hours after I inquired about the apartment. They said I'd have a refund check within 30 days minus $340 worth of "fees" and THEY NEVER REFUNDED ME! it's been just under 2 months, I've been calling and emailing constantly and being told a manager will contact me and they STILL HAVEN'T. ARMED HOME ROBBERY BY GUN POINT on 12/23/18. Man and woman were blindfolded and tied up in apartment while robbed...even had car stolen. Management has not shared details with residents and is avoiding all inquiries. They refuse to admit crime and will lie about it. Broken front doors to both buildings for months without repair makes residents very susceptible to crime and danger. If they really have hidden cameras in the hallways, they would show us pics of these criminals so we can be aware. WORST apartment living experience in my life!!!! I am truly embarassed to have friends come over because the place is so run down and dirty. Hallways STINK of curry and garbage because part of $35/monthly trash fee allows residents to garbage outside their apartment door in the hallways. My neighbors do not follow the trash rules so trash sits in hallways all day with dirty baby diapers. I have told the leasing office manager Spring Funches repeatedly and she only gets upset with me like she is annoyed that I keep complaining but she doesnt fix the issue. I asked her if she could walk with me so I could show her the hallway mess and smell and she told me thats not part of her job. SO RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. The shuttle vans also stink like curry and body odor. They are used by nonresidents all the time. We are supposed to use our building access cards to ride the shuttle but drivers do not enforce this policy at all, ever. Every ride guarantees you at least 3-5 people who do not use or show ID. Very inconvenient to have nonresidents use the shuttle forcing residents to wait in the cold 20-30 minutes for the next shuttle. Again, management does not manage this. Actual concierge person fired and now they have ugly package concierge lockers that are sometimes broken or often times full resulting in DOZENS of packages just being left on lobby floor for anyone to steal - and this happens all the time! The front door to my building was broken for over 4 months with a broken lock so the building was open to all withouth a card access....this is perfect way for packages to be stolen. Management finally fixed the door by screwing in a piece of scrap metal (tacky and ghetto looking), this last one day and again our front door remains unlocked and open to all. NOT A SECURE BUILDING.!!!! Crime is a serious issue and I do not feel safe living here. As a woman, I am honestly scared to live here. Very high crime rate because it is in an isolated area. Street lights are broken and not repaired. Garage gates can be broken and remain up and open to all for as much as 2-3 months. Management always has the excuse of "we are waiting on a part". BUY MORE PARTS!!! Or gee just replaced the gate since it is 6-7 years old! Apartment units themselves are decent size but the appliances are 6-7 years old and outdated from when this place was first built. Basic contractor grade faucets and lights. Cheap carpet in carpeted units that are not changed when a tenant leaves just shampooed. Horrible sound proofing in units that have laminate wood floors. There are some renovated units but they want so much money for those its ridiculous. The landlords are cheap and do not want to invest in the property. Property managers are lazy and do not care about the condition of the place or how dirty it is. ALSO....despite management lying, there is A LOT Section 8 and low-income residents that live here. I really don't recommend it to ANYONE. We moved a couple of months ago, and can't wait for the lease to end. I don't know where to start ... everything started badly at the beginning. We arrived with our move on a Friday after 6 pm and since the offices had closed (they knew we were coming) and they left! We had to leave all our move in a truck and find a hotel (I had a 6 month old baby back then and all the food in the refrigerator was lost of course). When we asked for transportation, the person who gave us a tour omitted all kinds of information--according to her all the time the transport went to and from New Jersey, of course this is not the case. They only count on ONE SCHEDULED HOURS of offices. And they do not tell you. So if you do not have a car, you are completely isolated! To make it worse you can hear every move of your upstair neighbors. The sound proof is terrible (we also hear all the times that they have sex (shouting by the way) HORRIBLE The neighborhood looks nice ... but this really is not quality of life. Worse Place to move in when there are five other better communities to rent, less than 1 minute away. They deserve the 3.6 lousy ratings. 3k for a double bed in this apartment community is NOT WORTH IT. The management takes NO responsibility for any inconvenience caused whatsoever. DIRTY APARTMENTS: The apartments they rent out are filthy. COPS and GUN INCIDENT: There was a gun incident in one of the buildings, not once but twice. Armed men had entered the building and an entire SWAT TEAM and cop cars surrounded the building and guess what, the building doors still don't function properly and anybody can enter into the building. The cameras don;t work. You cannot have a camera on your front door to monitor who is at your doorstep either! How amazing is that??????? No wonder it is scary to live here. BAD MANAGEMENT: The new staff is bad and SUPER DISCRIMINATIVE! I agree with everyone who has commented about the DISCRIMINATION part. They have the worst staff you can ever come across. They will not help you with anything. My apartment flooded because of an AC water leak, and they dint bother. It was an emergency, my closet was filled with water and stinking badly. They dint even apologize for the inconvenience. I had to wait for the service team to come over and fix as the leasing office is not responsible for damages to your apartment. You just have to wait to hear back from the service team who don't care either. They keep stomping around, dropping heavy things on the floor, Banging on the walls, dragging furniture around and shutting the door really really loud. My dogs and kids get anxious and scared with all the thudding noises. You can hear all of it as if it were happening in your home and the leasing office takes NO RESPONSIBILITY. I CALLED THE MANAGEMENT A 100 TIMES but they don't want to do anything about it. They are happy to see their tenants being inconvenienced all day and will do nothing to make sure their tenants are comfortable for the EXUBERANT RENT we are paying. PACKAGE THEFT: Absolutely no security. Lost two laptops already in the lobby. No cameras, nothing. It's all fake! FIRE ALARMS: They keep going off everyday!!!!!! So I been here for 3 1/2 years. Glad to call this place home. I don't typically write reviews but I don't agree with many of the comments. To be clear I haven't changed apartments and I live in the fourth floor. Not sure if that could be it. Packages being stolen- yes I have experienced that. I reported it to the office and was told I will need to file a police report for them to review the cameras. It was easier to just tell the merchant. I think they need to evaluate the package conceige. Is it still meeting the needs? Is it the people delivering that aren't using it. It is nothing like getting an email that your package is here. Knowing that it is safe and waiting for you to release it after you get home is awesome. I think packages outside the concierge should be dates and after three days or some agreed time they should contact the apartment. It is a lot of packages down there. However, I can tell you I ordered a bunch of things from target and each package got a spot in the concierge. I can see how that led to it being filled quickly and the packages not making it in. I have seen the machine not working from time to time. This issue is a mixture of the delivery services and the tenants not picking up their packages. I give the service a 3 Shuttle I took for years commuting to NY. I thought it was overall good. There will be delays and sometimes it will be too full, but overall reliable and convenient, Pool gym and other amenities, they are great. I do miss the old layout of the community room. It was great for parties, but the new layout has something for everyone. The gym is good. The spin room is awesome. I haven't been in a bit because of Covid 19. It was generally empty when I went. Like all gyms constant repairs is needed. Can't wait to get in the pool this year. Garage- this is one of the things I like here the most. The fee is steep but I love that I get to drive to the floor of my unit. Good for carrying on bags! When someone hits the gate it will break the system. They can probably work on expediting fixtures. Overall the garage is cool. Wish they didn't raise the fees to 65.00 a car. When something in your apartment breaks... it will get fixed. You just have to put in a ticket! Space in apartment - I have a two bedroom two bathroom and I am very comfortable in the space. Again I have not experienced roaches or bed bugs. Noise. Not everyone knows how to and recognize that these are apartments not their private home. Overall I have experienced expected noise levels. There is room for improvement but I am overall happy here. Management could probably benefit from doing virtual meetings with those who live here so they can hear the issues and work on real solutions. If I knew that the property had BEDBUGS I would have never moved here. Honesty is the best freaking quality and the lack of transparency here is appalling! I have been getting bit since the day I moved in and dispute multiple "treatments" the problem still persists! Multiple residence have thrown out their mattresses, the garbage area has PILES of mattresses and furniture to be disposed of? Do you see a problem??! Because Harbor Pointe doesn't! I wish someone would have told me this prior to moving in but now it feels as though I am trapped with no way out! I hope that this can help someone else BEFORE they move in. STAY AWAY YALL! Do not live here! I know that it looks good on the outside and seems like a great place to live but it's totally not worth it. Although I pay for a package concierge system, my boxes are left scattered on the floor amongst everyone else's in the lobby of the building. I have to dig through everything until I can finally find mine and sometimes it takes a day or 2 of going back and searching. The office is RUDE I don't think that I have met a person in there that was kind. And maintenance comes when you put in a work order but the work is shotty and not always aesthetically pleasing. The 5:00 PM shuttle driver is terrible the ride is bumpy and you fly back and forth as she makes sharp turns. We even came inches from hitting a pedestrian once! I have lived in HP for a year+, and its very Pleasant by the waters to walk in the evening, close to NY city views, Gym /pool , Kids jungle Gym, Shuttle service amenities are great. Would highly recommend if fits the budget. Cons: 2 Months Notice & 2 Months rent as Fee for lease breakage (assume paying 2k rent that sums up to 8k!), Keeps bothering with today's Visa rules / Job markets! Rents get Hiked 200$ if the renewals come around Summer, believe winter renewals are not so expensive. ( My sense of it ) read more

I have lived here for 2 years and its an amazing place to live in. I had to move out to get closer to the school I wanted my kid in, otherwise I would have never left this place. They have very good amenities that include a club house with gym and a studio, archade games, resort style outdoor pool (Open during summer), a work area, Jungle gym(Play area for kids), etc. Staff at the leasing office is very receptive to your questions/asks, special kudos to Jason who has been there when I moved in and on my move out as well. He made my transactions so special and gives so much care that I never felt ignored. I was so happy with the place and people that I had recommended this place to a lot of my colleagues and they in turn got others, we now have a small team of 10 here :) Jason & team, will miss your hospitality and receptiveness! If you are considering living at Harbor Pointe, you should read this in its entirety. Harbor Pointe is expensive and would be considered a luxury community based on the amenities it offers. It appears nice at first glance but there are many things to consider. Especially when entering into a legally binding agreement on the place that you will reside for the lease term. 1. If you expect a level of customer service that lives up to the amount you pay in rent, do not move here. Staff is dismissive and rude, and they only care about making the initial sale. I was trying to schedule an appointment with Halima Moore (the office manager) because I was unsatisfied with the way the leasing office staff handled a concern of mine. She took the time to answer the phone call, but proceeded to tell me that she was "running reports and did not want to stop to schedule an appointment". She also told me she would call me the next morning, and never did. I emailed the corporate office and requested a phone call. All I was really looking for was acknowledgment of the way the situation was handled (most customers can be easily pleased with something as simple as "I understand you're frustration and we are sorry you felt that way). Not only did the corporate office not even extend me the courtesy of a phone call, but they sent an email clear they called the office to ask them what happened... And dismissed my concern) NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! ZERO! 2000 FOR A ONE BEDROOM APARTMENT AND YOU CAN'T EVEN GET A PHONE CALL BACK. 2. Nothing gets fixed in a timely manner. The garage door was broken for months. The intercom that allows guests into the building has been not working for weeks. The landscape is atrocious. The dog park is not maintained. Gum in the corners of the hallway....apparently there was enough money in the budget to throw a "pool party" memorial day weekend with hours of a DJ (who only played one genre of music) and free catered BBQ food, but not enough money for a landscaper??? The community forces you to pay for valet garbage service, and residents leave their garbage in the hall all day long. At times the hall ways will literally smell like a garbage facility. Pedestrian door to the garage has been unlocked the entire 3 years I have been here. People steal your packages out of the lobby. B9 garage elevator rarely works. Construction has changed the street parking in the area, and the company did nothing to accommodate the residents who already lived here and were promised free street parking. There was no offer by manage to try and accommodate the residents who already lived here but did not have parking already worked into their budget. Cops patrol the streets, so if you are parked too close to a stop sign, or in spot that is not marked as a parking spot you will definitely get a ticket. 3. THERE ARE COCKROACHES!!!!!!!!! An infestation. Not one or two that you see occasionally....tons. I damn near moved out in the middle of the night. I saw a handful and knew that couldn't be a good sign. So in preparation for the treatment the pest company asks you to empty your cabinets and pull out your refrigerator and stove. When the fridge came out....I shit you not i almost packed my bags and left. The pest company they use only comes on Fridays so I had to wait almost a whole week for the first treatment. And another week for the follow up treatment. It has gotten better, however when I was coming home today I saw one of the maintenance guys right outside my door, who handed me a flyer which told me they were coming back for a 3rd treatment. As he walked away I noticed he had a whole STACK of flyers in his hand. I watched him deliver to two other doors in my hallway alone. This is a huge issue. read more

Im not entirely sure where to begin. When we first started our apartment search we stumbled upon the negative reviews here. During our initial tour of the facilities we were reassured that the issues raised were completely fixed with new management being proactive and that safety is no longer a concern. After being convinced that there was ample parking, decent ammenities, and an amazing staff we decided to agree upon a corner unit on the bottom floor. I should have seen a red flag when the unit was "suddenly not available" just that day. However we were sold on the location. Lets move onto our first issue. In 3 days of us inhabiting our new apartment there were fire alarms blasting, and we were told this is a common occurrence and its nothing to be concerned about. 30 minutes into the alarm we hear 3 strangers outside trying to pry our door open (thinking we evacuated). As I approached the door I see three gentleman running away. The next morning I raise my concerns of safety to the office staff and was just yessed away as if I had nothing to be concerned about. 3 men trying to break into apartments is apparently a normal activity here. Other issues observed: -Originally had no water pressure and no hot water. -When maintenance came to fix issues they left running faucet for 7 hours with no apology. -Although there is ample parking to allow each apartment one space management demands 65 dollars a month with no option to pay month to month. -Snow removal relies entirely on the town so the promise of "ample parking"outside is a lie during the winter. Also one shovel for the entire complex is a stroke of genius -Staff is extremely condescending and has no interest in your actual happiness once the rent check is cut. -I have never seen a manager working in a customer service field as openly malicious and repulsive in my life. And I have worked in retail. I somewhat feel sorry for the staff working under her. Unless absolutely necessary I would not suggest Harbor Pointe, Views of garbage and oil drilling with dog poop covered walkways are not ideal with these issues to boot. read more

Be prepare to fork additional fees. besides the rent, you are going to pay additional amenities fee, trash fee, water fee, sewage fee and service fee to process all of these fees on top of it. Edit 1: forgot to mention, there is also a mandatory renter insurance that you have to pay. Good luck. Edit 2: fire alarm went off 3 nights in a row. Just brilliant. I have had total of such 6 nights in 2 months. Edit 3: City of Bayonne jacked up the water usage rate at the beginning of 2017. My bill for water and sewage for using 3500 gallon of water was around 55 bucks. on average, a person uses 80-100 gal per day. Edit 4 : Recently, they added a new fee and I am telling you, people are more furious about this than any other fees. They added $25 registration fee to use package concierge and on top of that they added $5 late fee per day if you don't pick up package after 3 days. imagine how much fee you would incur if you are unaware of your package being delivered or if you go on a vacation and somebody sends you a package. this is the absolute worst. Edit 5 : They have updated the carpeted floor with hardwood floor in most rooms. while it is a nice addition, it comes with a major noise problem. carpet absorb lots of noise which helped cancel the noise but it is a different story for hardwood floor. hardwood floor does not absorb noise and on top of that it makes noise on its own if you walk on it or if you drag chair or anything in general. noise complaints have gone up from what i hear from my friends who live there. read more

At first , My wife and I was very skeptical signing with harbor pointe with all of their bad reviews. I have to admit and must say the professionalism of the leasing staff is beyond what I could've imagined. Maureen, Stephanie and Karla all went above and beyond to make sure we had a smooth experience. Maureen was our leasing agent, she was assertive, commutative and knowledgeable. While my wife and I were discussing the apartment at harbor pointe , the unit was gone. We went back Sunday to tour and stephanie assisted us. She was phenomenal. During our lease signing, maureen was away for the holidays, and Karla helped us out. Everybody was so kind and sweet. I'm so glad we picked this community. The team work and everybody's willingness to help is outstanding! This is what luxury resort living is all about. Kudos to the Harbor Pointe team! read more

Me and my family have been living in Harbor Pointe for two and half months now and we love it. Its very peaceful and comfortable living. If it was a condo, I would buy in for sure. It feels like we live in a hotel suite. Also, Spring, Tameka and Katie at the leasing office are very nice and help us with any issues we have. I would recommend anyone to live here. read more

Actually worse than all these reviews even reflect. - The fire alarm problem is constant, actually going off as I speak; they do nothing to fix this. Blaring fire alarms at all hours of the night that go on for 15+ minutes. Multiple break-ins occur during these alarms, meaning they are likely being set off on purpose and management does nothing to address this. - You actually get ticketed for parking in clearly defined spots. They have actual white outlined spots that you will be ticketed for parking in. Parking here is a nightmare due to limited spots. - Remember that alarm thing I talked about? The elevators go out of commission every time these alarms go off. The alarms go off on a weekly basis, elevators will just not work for weeks at a time. Management will never put any effort into fixing the elevator issue or giving you a timeframe for when you can expect it to be resolved. - Management will listen to approximately 0 of your complaints. Cars taking up precious spots for months while clearly having flat tires and not being used? Oh well. Cars parked in front of the loading dock so families can't even pull in their U-Haul to move in? Oh well, deal with it. I can really go on and on, but for the price you have to pay to live here there really are 0 redeeming qualities to living here. read more

I've read several of the reviews, both prior to moving in and recently. Some people will have issues where ever they are, and those you have to take with a grain of salt. I have lived here since July 2016, and moved here because of the price, quiet location, and proximity to my office in the city. Pros: Amenities are great, my little one loves the pool in the summer, and the gym is pretty good. Office staff is phenomenal, Jason, Spring and Allison have always been willing to help, and even go above and beyond. Maintenance staff has been great, usually responding same day or next. The events that Spring puts together are fun, and give people a chance to meet their neighbors, sometimes that's something I don't have a chance to do when I'm always working. There is usually something each month, and all have been so fun and usually include wine when at night. Keep up the good work! Cons: Fire alarms going off, but that's not management's fault, it's usually resident caused. Garage door has been broken for over a month, hopefully will be remedied soon People need to clean up after their dogs!!!! Again, not management's fault, they consistently send out reminders to residents and threaten to fine if they catch the perpetrators. Summary: I really like living here, and so does my little guy. Again, management has been super responsive and always helpful, so the negative reviews are probably from residents who either were very demanding, or were here before the management change. read more

I have been at this complex since Dec 2015 and have had no issues to date. If I had any minor concerns they have all been addressed. The new management is doing an excellent job of addressing all of the problems that the old land managers never cared to address. I would highly recommend this complex to my friends and family. I've lived here for a year now and recently the complex was taken over by Harbor Pointe and has since then taken a serious nosedive. Secure buildings & garages? = WRONG. The garage doors are wide open 60% of the time making the front door locks useless as each floor of the garage has an unlocked door into the building! Emailed management about this - no response. Attentive Staff? - WRONG! They have removed the night time concierge and put football locker room style package lockers that look hideous in the lobby! Now there is absolutely NO ONE around after 6 PM. They don't even answer the "emergency" number. It's a voicemail and I've had to request maintenance 3 times before they finally came to fix my problem. (Comically, when the guy arrived the third time, he acted as if this was a new issue that he had never heard of before!) Doesn't an emergency by definition warrant a human being answering the phone?! I went to the office for the third time recently to inquire about something and was waved off and told that the assistant manager was too busy to see me. When I said that this is the third time I am attempting to get answers I was told to email her. Being that I had already emailed twice previously with no response whatsoever I found this laughable. Going on a week now and still no response to my THIRD email. THE ONLY THING THE STAFF HERE CARES ABOUT IS LEASING NEW UNITS. THEY DON'T ANSWER EMAILS, ASSIST RESIDENTS, OR FOLLOW UP AN ANYTHING. THERE IS NO CONCIERGE ANYMORE Convenient Shuttle Service to Grove? - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. A tuna can that fits 12 in a complex of 500+ units that comes only every 40 minutes! You need to plan an extra hour just to get into the shuttle! TOTAL WASTE OF TIME. Wonderful club house with pool table and computers? - JOKE! Try a pool table to rutted it cant be used. Broken cues, balls missing. The computer are so filled with viruses that they are destroyed. No one in the office can help or has a clue how to fix any of this. The gym at any given time has at least 40% of the machines broken... The ground are about the only nice thing here. The buildings and apartments are just average and the walls are quite thin. Want to know how they responded to CODIV-19? They did nothing. They cleaned nothing. They sanitized nothing. Not only was rent due but they sent us an email reminding us, and a follow up email reminding us all of the 10% late fee that also still applied to us during this time. The manager in the leasing office is never there and doesn't have control of their employees and they do and say whatever they want no matter how rude, untrue or disrespectful. The owner doesn't take care of the place at all, there's trash all over the grass areas. It's overpriced, the amenities look good at first but they're really nothing special. Don't fall for this place like we did. Go somewhere who cares about their tenants. I've never left a bad review for anything, but the Coronavirus pandemic really made their true colors show. Customer service is always 5 stars. I worked with Timeka Houston and she was very polite and helpful. She provided me with all of the information I needed to move in and made the experience very easy and welcoming. Due to personal issues I ended up not moving in but Timeka kept in contact with me and kept me updated on all available apartments for when I was ready to move in. Moving forward, 2 years later I called the office and not only did Timeka answer but she knew exactly who I was. That was the best feeling ever. The staff here is so friendly and give you that welcoming family feeling. I'm now ready to start the process of moving in and even though I won't be working directly with Timeka (because she's now the office manager ) she put me into the hands of Maureen who has been a pleasure so far. read more

Now I have to complain about this place. First anyone looking for an apartment do not look at this place. If you do not mind lack of security (all 4 wheels taken from a new car between 1am and 7am on a Sunday morning) not even seen by night security guard walking the property ??? Photo attached. Now residents have to put up with derogatory writhing on the walls regards Telling India people go back home you all smell. It's reported to the police but Management has still not painted over all of it. Management seem not to give a dame about it why pay for to paint over it when we can have the pool upgraded for the summer get more food truck venders to come. If you do rent at this property and have had a nice tour and shown all things you can do living at Harbor Point ask about the amenity fee. $600 a year $300 if you renew lease early well it is a nice club house but it is rented out at prime times (at a cost to the person holding the party) No resident can use the club house till the party is over that can be from 6pm to 10pm, so if you have a guest visiting and you would like to shoot pool in the club house. Pick a day during the week not weekends. So not sure how they can make money on club house and charge a fee of $600 to residents every year. And keep a straight face asking for it. We'll enjoy apartment hunting but stay away from This place. They rent to anyone background checks hum? Oh yes police and fire department this is 2nd home for them. read more

I wish I could rate this place a zero. Management is unresponsive and unreliable. Your rent isn't stabilized as it is contingent on water and sewage usage (which was definitely not explained to me when signing the lease). Apartment B9 is consistently loud with abruptive noises. My newborn baby is constantly being woken up by the fire alarms. The bus shuttles never run on time. This place is just horrible. My apartment was infested with roaches and management said there's "nothing they can do about it". Please don't move here. read more
