First time staying at this hotel. Very spacious double queen room, complete with mini refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. I also appreciate the separate sink near the refrigerator and microwave. I understand this hotel had renovations 3 years ago and the clean and plus carpet in my bedroom was appreciated. I also like that the bottom of the bed is exposed and blocked off so there is no way something can be accidentally be left behind under the bed. I also liked the handles on the dresser drawers and the full length mirrors on the sliding closet doors . The wall paper in the bathroom and shower curtains could be updated, along with a few other bath fixtures therefore I could not give 5 stars as my rating. Horrible service at the bar. I came here on a Friday night. It took almost an hour to get my drink after I ordered it. The bartenders are extremely rude and unprofessional. The facility itself is beautiful and Mr. Mack, the shuttle driver was a hoot but there isn't much else positive to say about this hotel. The bartender seemed tipsy while his manager was a sour puss who stared, never spoke, and ate pub mix. I am looking forward to a reply from management as I sent a letter to them. This hotel was a great ,clean , modern, and the CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS AWESOME. From the young lady and guys at the front desk, the restaurant/ lounge Postrum the food was sooo good and the service again was good. The drinks were on point thanks Bartenders ...Shout out Reggie. I came in for a conference which several were also in town for too. They came in early and extended shuttle hours for the conference attendees. The riders were cool , hospitable, they even doubled back if needed. The housekeepers did an exceptional job of cleaning. They have a nice grown and sexy groove on Fridays and Saturdays . The service at this hotel was so friendly. The shuttle driver Tony, personally pointed out a running route that worked great for running over the Woodrow Wilson bridge. He also drives people to the outlet mall and Harbor where there is great shopping and dining. The friendly breakfast staff, Maria, made sure we got our delicious coffee and provided a hearty breakfast. The beds and tub were so comfortable. The restaurant had a great dinner, and all the diners in the place were smiling. This place was a lot cheaper than those by the harbor, and a great deal. read more

I really want to give the hotel a higher rating, but just can't. The room was clean and comfortable. It was near the icemaker that was beyond loud - I felt like it was in the room with me. The food in the bar was very good and the drinks ok, but the karoke night was awful. The volume made it so you couldn't think anywhere in the lobby area. There are what I would call hard surfaces all over, so nothing to absorbe the noise. Unfortunately due to the location, which isn't in a great area, there wasn't a place for a quick bite to eat. Breakfast was a high point no complaints. The staff were hit or miss as far as being helpful and "nice". The shuttle was nice, although it doesn't start until 10 in the morning and when you are attending a conferance it means you need to take a cab, but at least it was there in the evening. I still wonder how certain notes can be open and the only explanation I can come up with is: lack of alternatives when the other hotels are full during conferences. Room: below standard and below basics. A bottle of filtered water is all that's inside. No coffee, tea or anything else. Empty fridge, and noisy. Shower with crazy pressure that pees your skin off. Extremely dry air with outdated a/c system. Service: none. Room service with very few awful choices. I had a headache so I asked for pain killers, which did not have. Shuttle: drivers borderline rude. For the return you had to call them through the hotel, except no one picks up. I do not recommend this mediocre facility to anyone. read more

I paid $250 for one night, which is A LOT for this particular hotel. NOT WORTH IT. DON'T PAY ANYTHING more than $150. The shuttle that runs to National Harbor and MGM was completely disorganized and had looooong waits (45 mins) House keeping ignored the "Do not disturb" sign at 11:00am and let themselves in while I was in the freaking shower. Check out is at 12:00 by the way. We left the room to go load the car and got locked out of our room at 11:30 because both our keys were "shut off". AGAIN...check out is at 12:00! We had to go back downstairs and stand in line to have our key cards turned back on. The front desk said that the cards can stop working for a number of reasons, but it happened to our friends in the room next door to us too; so draw your own conclusions. For the price I paid; those issues are inexcusable. ESPECIALLY when it turns out that we could have stayed at the Gaylord for the same price! It's the details that matter and this place totally misses the mark. read more

I stayed there for 3 nights for a local convention and they went above and beyond. The first night I stayed there I discovered that not only there was a spot light shining into my room even when the drapes where closed and the AC made a terrible whine. As soon as I told them about that they moved me to a better room. They answered every question I had and provided amazing customer service. They had shuttle service and breakfast. They are in the process of remodeling, but they keep a tight ship even while that process is going on. I feel like everyone can make mistakes, broken nozzles, spot light into a window and so forth. I used to love this hotel. We stay at least 3 times a year but this has been the worst stay yet. I love it because of location, price and free parking. But I'm willing to stay elsewhere from now on. The sheets were EXTREMELY wrinkled. They told me they do not iron them. And i informed them that I've never seen em look like this. Very tacky! The dj could be heard on the 6th floor! How is that even possible. Walls are thin, you can hear everything in the hall and the huge gap under the door doesn't help. read more

Our band stayed here as we had a sold out gig down at Harmony Hall. The hotel is very clean and appears to have been recently remodeled. Staff was VERY nice, our room was clean and comfy. The shuttle to casino is a nice touch! We enjoyed the bar and the lively atmosphere Saturday evening. Porsha - awesome service and makes a MEAN Mimosa! Leroy (engineer) also very friendly gentlemen. Staff is very friendly and rooms are clean and spacious. The hot breakfast, free internet and free parking were a plus. Rooms have a microwave and refrigerator which are nice features. Only minutes from the MGM and they have a free shuttle. The downside to our visit was the cable was not working upon checking in and no one informed us at checkin. Had to go to the room and play with the cords to the TV before calling down to the front desk. We were then told that the entire hotel did not have TV service. Did not receive TV service until the next day. Hotel took $20 off the bill but had to be persistent to get a response. read more

The room was clean. My biggest bone to pick is with the $50 insurance fee that they inform you of at check-in. I've stayed in NYC, D.C., Charlotte, various places, and never had an insurance fee of $50. The couple checking in beside us had no idea either. We paid, but unfortunately we paid twice because we were charged twice. So $100 withheld until check-out. Each time we were at the counter, the employees needed help and seemed really unfamiliar with the system. We stayed in a King room and the bed was nice and clean but hard as a rock. Nice staff. Just doesn't seem like they're in their groove yet since the renovation. I'm not a Yelper. This is the only review I've ever left and the whole experience just rubbed me the wrong way. read more

Hotel is nice enough. Room is basic. It reaked of bleach which gave me a headache but at least it made me feel things were clean. It's dog friendly. A dog barked most of the night. Staff didn't intervene. Everyone just had to endure it. They Had a party in the lobby's hotel restaurant. If you wanted to eat at the restaurant you had to go to the party. :-( The Party Policeman carded you No matter how old you look. 50 60 70. Didn't matter. I just wanted to eat dinner. I had to be carded even though I'm a patron of the hotel. Then I had a soda in my hand from outside and the party policeman would not let me in the restaurant. No outside food or drinks. Huh? Ok so I left. I'll use my money elsewhere. Oh and there's no room service. Standard Breakfast is offered but you can't take it out to your room. I don't quite get that. I guess they want you to get up, get dressed, eat a little something on your way out. Thanks for coming. I really am upset about that. At 7:45 am I don't want to sit in the lobby and eat. I'd like to go grab some coffee and a muffin or bagel and come back to my room. But no this is not allowed. The FOOD POLICE stop you as your leaving to go back to your room and say sorry you cant leave with that. The sign is on the wall. REALLY??That's obsurd. Long story short-- I WONT BE BACK. read more

Absolutely the worst management staff of any place I've stayed in either personal or business travel. I checked in with my young daughter in her friend as we were attending a convention that weekend on 2/15. We were on the third floor. We are in the on-site restaurant which had amazing service albeit a limited menu, especially with children. We headed up to turn in for the night-again, children, and were watching movies until falling asleep. Before we could, around 9:00pm music was BLARING so loud from the lobby that you could make out the words and the headboard actually trembled. Turning up the tv didn't help and both kids even put on headsets which did nothing. Finally, around 11:30 I went to the lobby to complain. Opening our door and getting in the elevator was even worse. When the doors opened in the lobby, it was overwhelming. There was a adult social event in the bar area and it was so loud the people at the desk could barely hear me. Long story-but they said the only thing they would do was move me to the 6th floor. I said I had children and their outfits for convention the next day were completely set out. They knew when we checked in I have kids with me and why put me on a floor that is an issue? They said it was the only option-they have this party EVERY weekend. Unacceptable. I asked to speak to a manager. None on site. They said he would call. Never did. I asked for my bill to be adjusted and they said no-I could move to the 6th floor or deal with it. So what did they think was a compromise? They handed me earplugs and blew me off. Manager never did call. For $345ish a night, I call Shenanigans. Never again. Any Katsucon goers next year-don't stay here. read more

The hotel staff was pleasant, and the breakfast was good. The room served its purpose. It would've gotten a higher review if the shuttle wasn't so inconsistent and misinformative. My friends and I booked this hotel to attend a convention, relying on the shuttle to transport us there, but the shuttle would only go to one location, even though there was much open space still available, and the people wishing to go to the convention were there longer. After being told to wait for the next bus, the next bus also only went to the one location, even though we were assured that it would be worth the wait. Then, when we finally got on to the bus after waiting for an hour, the driver was aggressive and pushy, and made us feel unsafe, as he went on his phone while driving. Besides that, we had a pleasant stay, and would recommend the hotel...with personal transportation. read more

We had my daughter's sweet 16 party at this hotel it was perfect. The young lady that help me through the whole process in planning everything was more than I expected. The staff went above and beyond to make everything perfect for my daughter's party. The party planner arranged for my daughter to meet with the chef so she picked a special menu for her party. He also has samples of everything that she picked out for her to tase for the party before making the final menu. Every detail was covered and handle with Fidelity. We got a suite for my daughter so we didn't have to do a lot of traveling around. I was 100% pleased with everything from beginning to end. Planning a party is extremely stressful but when it is a big party it's even more stressful. Staff at this hotel made everything smooth and extremely professional. If you are planning an event this is a perfect place.. I also felt like the price was very reasonable considering. I had checked lots of places in the DMV. They want a lot of money and they did not offer any amenities. This hotel definitely raise the bar. I am not saying that it was cheap. I am saying you get more bang for your buck. read more

My mom and I arrived to see a beautiful new renovation in progress. We stayed at this location when it was the Clarion I believe. The hotel is undergoing a transformation and I could see the progress. The beds are comfortable and the staff was very friendly. We received a note of apology at check-in for the renovation in progress. The room had a refrigerator and microwave. The breakfast was served on real plates, not paper plates and they use real flatware. I was impressed. Nice touch. Most places use paper and plastic. We stayed for two nights, and I would definitely return for another stay if I were in the area. I think once the rennovations are complete, it is going to be a very nice hotel. read more

This is a true two star hotel. The staff are nice, but there were constantly people smoking in the stairwells. The gym is terrible, confined to a tiny basement area and lacking in equipment as well as fresh air. I approached the front desk to report that there was no more bottled water in the gym, only to have the desk associate give me a blank stare. traveling alone with my daughter and was very excited about the hotel when i arrived. the aesthetics was great, clean and modern. i went out to the event i was attending, and came back to a very different hotel. folks were everywhere...non-guests... there was a "street" club atmosphere. random men and women. there was no where to park. i called the front desk, to express my concerns. i was told there was nothing he could do, it told hin 15 minutes to find parking (but i'm a paying guest).i drove around for 30 minutes, before parking in the very back 200 to 250 yards from the hotel. there were no security protroling the property. my child and i entered the hotel lobby and folks were everywhere. full club atmosphere. no security measures to keep folks who do not belong from entering the elevators and going upstairs. never again read more

My Family and I stayed at this hotel on March 24 to 25, 2019. We were greeted by Davon at the Front Desk at check in. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. She was always mannerly and remembered our room numbers and names. We used the shuttle service to the MGM Grand which was perfect. We were greeted by the driver Andre's who was also friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. The hotel was clean including our rooms. There was free parking in the front of the hotel and the free breakfast was good. We would stay at this hotel again. read more

DO NOT host an event at this hotel! The rooms ARE nice, and the food was delicious. However, my family and I were treated as if we were criminals at our own event. I threw my husband a 70th birthday celebration where people flew in from all over the country to attend. Everyone patronized this hotel and booked rooms for the weekend. On the night of the event, we went slightly over the 55 people that I paid for, do to a few couples not being able to find babysitter's at the last minute. Management had waiters and waitresses hovering over our entire event. They even came inside of the event and humiliated me and my husband in front of our guests, counting the heads of people that were in attendance. No extra food was required, or extra chairs or tables. Management called me out of the event and demanded that I pay an extra $800 on site! They also refused to allow me to make a plate for my 90 year old aunt that was too sick to make it down from her hotel room. I also had to keep asking the staff to not pack up the food. The food was to be left out until the end. However, they continued to attempt to clear the food away. It seemed as if, they wanted to feed the staff with the remainder of our food. It was ridiculous. Every event that is hosted by this hotel is technically free marketing and an opportunity to sell your event space to the guests in attendance. However, my guests were appalled. I have never been so disrespected by an establishment where I spent thousands of dollars. We were planning to have our Family reunion of 300 guest at this hotel this summer, but we will be taking our business elsewhere! You may have gotten an extra $800 that night, but you guys have missed multiple opportunities to make thousands, because of your poor customer service and disrespect. read more
