We keep coming here because it was the site if our first date and they do have a great sunset view. I can't say it is the best place locally for service. They consistently are under staffed so service can be slowwwww. Not the employees fault. The food is ok, there are better places for oyster, better places for steak, better places for seafood around. We do tend to get the crab cake, bam bam shrimp, things off the appetizers list. Tonight is Monday and they are half off so it makes it easier to accept....especially since we've sat here for 30 minutes waiting for drinks. Don't let this 4 star review fool you. Maybe it was a bad night .. but I find it hard to be a bad night for the hostess staff and the waitress. We start our meal off with a 30-35 minute wait. 45minutes later I ask why we haven't been seated, but we immediately get seated after I noticed at least 3-4 tables have been called after us. Normally this might be protocol for seating 4 and 6 top tables but at this point at 8:30 the restaurant has more than a dozen tables open. After being seated we wait yet again for our server. We have to ask for small things like sweetener twice, which in of itself isn't terrible. Let me highlight a positive note here, the crab cakes are excellent! The tuna appetizer was also delicious, but my steak came out well undercooked from my requested medium. I would have said something but we hadn't seen our waitress for over 10 minutes. I tried to flag down other staff but we didn't see anyone. I didn't even have a steak knife , so I ate around the edges sawing with my trusty butter knife. I think this place gets great reviews because it's obviously a local hotspot. The view is gorgeous but they have a lot to learn on how to execute a fine dining experience. In the end, it's the little things like service and giving your customers your full attention that make mediocre places great. Their food could help them achieve that status but they better work harder to give a better customer experience. read more

Driving the back roads from the gulf coast back home to Daytona.We saw this restaurant and decided to stop. We loved it and will drive out of our way to return. We started off with a really good salad with a unique dressing. Larry had the Chicken Marsala with vegetables and I had the stuffed flounder with a baked potato. Everything was flavorful and cooked just right. Even though we were full and he had leftovers we decided to share the triple brownie dessert. We ate the peanut butter fudge ice cream and one brownie. Taking the other two brownies home. It took a few minutes for the waitress to come to our table but as we were enjoying the beautiful water view. After that the service was right on track. Seafood (shrimps) were fresh, but blend, no unique flavor and the old bay was used very lightly. The tortillas seem to have come straight out of the bag without toasting them prior. The white fish was plenty, but again no salt, no smoke, or anything unique. The vegetables were cooked well, but with no salt or any special anything. Disappointed Poor customer service/communication. We made a reservation for 10 people for my moms 50th birthday. We had family fly in from out of town and we made a reservation for 5:30 to have a nice seafood dinner. Unfortunately we didn't even get to enjoy the food because we waited 2 hours and still were not served. Apparently there was an issue in the kitchen but no one bothered to let us know of this delay. I asked the sever how much longer it would be and she said she would check but never came back with a report. The manger did come over after we requested but they were still unable to give us an ETA on our food. While we were waiting for 2 hours, we were never communicated with and never asked for a refill or another drink. I have a baby and with no food in site after waiting past his bedtime, we had to leave. We were really looking forward to the dinner but unfortunately I can't even give a review on the food because we were never served. read more

The view of the lake is the only high point of the experience. Loud clientele, slow service with the several orders not being completed correctly of mediocre food, pelted with pieces of a broken plate, TVs broadcasting mixed martial arts competition reminded us of a sports bar. To top the evening off, it took forever for our check to be picked up and processed; and, when it was, it was returned to us having been closed out like a cash transaction on the credit card with no possibility to leave a tip. Perhaps they have a psychic on staff who advised them not to request one? My companion had a business function at the establishment several years before and the place has obviously changed. We will not be returning; and, advise you to seek your dining experience for seafood elsewhere. read more

it was our first time eating here and let me tell you it was fantastic and a memorable evening. Kayla our waitress was so attentive and was extremely cordial and sweet. The food was amazing! We loved everything we ordered. The fried shrimps and fish, fried just right. I ordered the steak and that was soooo good. and lobster with drawn butter was delish. If you are looking for great seafood this is the place. We had the clam chowder which had a great flavor. The salad that comes with the dinner is very tasty. We were told it was a 50 year old recipe. Was not the least bit impressed. We went on 3/17/2019. It was not busy at all. The table location was the highlight of the dining experience. At first our server started out pretty good. However, after we ordered it went downhill fast. The table next to us waited 15 min for a server, we watched the manager reprimand the server and after taking her to the table, they left, walked past us and the manager acted like she was kicking her in the butt and started laughing. She looked over, expecting us to laugh with her, and I felt sorry for the server. She may have dropped the ball but you do not embarrass them in front of customers. Gator bites for the appetizer was the best food of the dinner. ( I did not try but was told they were pretty good) My scallops were waaaaay overcooked and were dry and rubbery. My rice pilaf was Uncle Ben's chicken flavored rice. My son ordered Lobster and Crab Fettuccine. He picked out some noodles and left most of it untouched. The lobster pieces were rubbery and tastless... actually disgusting. My daughter had Chicken Fettuccine...same deal. My nephew had fish and shrimp. He ate the overcooked shrimp because he was hungry. The fish was disgusting, he had one bite and spit it out. My niece had the fish tacos...she said they were ok. Table clearing did not exist with our waitress. We started stacking our items at the end of the table. The first time she said "Oh, you have quite the stack here!". Then it seemed she could only take one item from the end of the table at once. So we made another stack at the end of our dinner as we just wanted the food off our table. She came back and said " Oh, looks like I have another stack from you". Seriously? So I just told her to bring the check. I was over charged, but paid it as I was sick of dealing with her. My bill was $82 for inedible food. I left a $3.00 tip and wrote horrible food and horrible service then left. I will never ever go back. I usually tip between 20 and 30 percent. I love over tipping and making their night. I dont send food back as I am always afraid of what they might do to it. I would have talked to the manager had I not witnessed her actions with her staff. Huge disappointment read more

We had a lovely early Monday dinner at the Harborside. After spending the day at Legoland, we were ready for some good food! Jasmine greeted us with a bright smile right away. She was knowledgeable about the beers they had to offer and was able to pick out a wonderful IPA for me and a shandy for my husband. Again we went with her suggestion of the gator bites for an appetizer. They really hit the spot! We were both thinking of the grouper sandwich before we got to the restaurant, and that is just what we ordered. It was just as good as the last time we had it. Have eaten here dozens of times. Food quality has decreased lately. Last meal was absolutely terrible. Calamari was overcooked and rubbery. Sent it back and was not charged. Clam chowder was more like potato soup, not many clams. Fried fish was overcooked and burnt on one side, as if it sat under a heat lamp to long. Took neighbors with us and we bragged about quality. Went here to celebrate my husbands birthday. We walked in and there is a chalk board to the right with their daily specials. We were seated quickly in a booth towards the kitchen side of the restaurant and still had an excellent view of the lake. The best thing about the place is the view. The food is pretty pricy for very average food, nothing really was excellent. Everything came out Luke warm. The grouper sandwich was very lackluster, as well as the fries. The baked potato was barely cooked, it was so hard. The red snapper with the mango salsa was good but had bones in the fish so we had to be very careful eating it. The service was okay... the girl we had was friendly but never seemed to be around, we always had to ask for refills. Overall nothing was terrible but it's a 30 minute drive for us so I don't see us going back. read more

I was pretty disappointed. First the wait was 25 minutes which is fine so we sat at the bar. Our bartender was very nice so I was excited for food when we finally sat. However, our waitress was both rude and incompetent. She was very condescending to me in my order and she blatantly messed up my uncles order. She even asked him multiple times what sandwich he ordered and he kept telling her he ordered grouper and not a sandwich. Then she brought out a sandwich anyway. The wait was also incredibly long. Almost an hour between being seated and eating. Most of our food was bad too. Overcooked fish that clearly sat in a warmer. Clam chowder was so good had the teriyaki salmon and it was cooked perfectly and the flavor was as big as the piece of salmon on my plate. Was seated in a reasonable time. Was excited for the 5 in family to be together. Placed order. 1 1/2 hours later . My sister and I had ordered meal with a salad. They did not deliver my salad. Took a while to get salad. In the meantime the room was emptied. Another family came in. They ordered and meal brought out before ours. When ours arrived some was cold and others overcooked and dry.
