For a sleepy harbor town this is a cute little motel. Great for a one night stop. All rooms are remodeld and clean and décor cute. Very small, but you don't need much for a one night stop. Debra took reservations and communicated great, she is very nice. Even let us check in 3 hours early! Quick walk to Portside Bistro right there in the parking lot, I would recommend. I would stay there again! Seafood market in the parking lot also, bring oyster shucker if you want to enjoy in your room. Cons: It's a motel, walls thin. Mattress was to soft.

Cool location and a reasonable price for it. Stayed a few nights here when passing through and the staff were all incredibly friendly - particularly the lady with the red hair. Just about perfect customer service. Thank you for that. 40 bucks for an rv space with electricity in the winter... came to 44 after tax. Some beautiful views but cold mornings. The bathrooms here are so clean - and the showers are hot. Couldn't want much more out of an RV space for a few days. Thank you!

Loved this little gem! The renovations they have done are super adorable! The beds are comfortable, the layouts are awesome! The staff is also very nice.

Second time to this area and spotted this place while crabbing in Garibaldi pier. Booked it for Valentines day. What a gold mine. Very reasonably price per night (We stayed 4 days), laundry services and ice room with showers for RVers and guests, crab pot to boil our bounty, remodeled rooms, location location location. We came to crab. Kept our bounty on ice in our rig. No crab allowed in rooms. I can totally see that and no problem at all. Deborah up front and housekeeping were awesome. Definitely a must stay place.

Nice spot to stay in Garibaldi! We stayed in a pet friendly room and was very clean no lingering pet odors from last vacationers. Price was 135 for one night for 4 people and a pet. The area can feel busy being close to the marina and a wood mill. But if you like crabbing and clamming they have the opportunity to do that here.

Loved this RV park! Centrally located and near walking/biking paths. Jeff, the manager, was very cordial and made a point to walk the RV park and check on his guests. We had a smaller back-in but we booked reservation the last minute. Full hookups and great cable! Back again this summer (2017), and we absolutely love this place! Well kept, friendly service and centrally located.

The day's catch, ready for the cooker at Harborview Inn.

If what you want is reasonably priced, clean, and well managed lodging as close to crabbing, fishing, and clamming possibilities as possible: this is the place! As a bonus, the staff go at least two steps further to make certain your stay is enjoyable than any other inn that we have experienced. Indeed, though thoroughly professional (Jeff, the manager, has many years experience with a major hotel chain) the staff act more like friends recently met than simply hoteliers. If you need clamming or crabbing gear: they have it for rent at extremely low prices. We collected our limit on cockerels by walking out on to the beach from our room at low tide and raking for an hour or so. Later in the day we exchanged the rakes for crab nets and drowned some chicken pieces on the incoming tide. We came up with a couple of keepers. When we came in, the staff fired up a big pot and happily helped us cook our crab and clams ...at no charge!! Do you enjoy hearing something of the local lore? Join Jeff, on Saturday evening to make S'mores around the campfire and he'll spin a yarn or two for you ...again, FREE. After checking in, my wife and I planned to drive up to a favorite restaurant in Cannon Beach for razor clams, but the Troller (right there at the Garibaldi marina) did a superb job, no drive necessary. The next night, we tried the Fisherman's Korner (just across the street from Troller) for their much acclaimed fish and chips. They were done to perfection, and my clam strips were even more flavorful. The best I've had anywhere! Very lightly breaded and quick-fried: crispy on the outside and Ohhh so juicy and succulent on the inside! Why drive anywhere to eat? So ....why not 5 stars on my rating? While I'm a fan, the view from our room toward Tillamook Bay was not what I had expected. Instead of the bay, all we could really see was the RV parking area. But, given all of the benefits, we fully intend to come back here to stay again.

Beautiful blue walls that's so relaxing

Cool Porch area with Picnic Tables outside your room for some cool beach weather seating and most of the Picnic Tables are under cover. There is a regular gate doorway to your room. Sounds strange. Big Bay Windows for some sweet ocean views. comes with its own pair of Binoculars too. Cool. From our second floor room, there is only the small parking lot then a small hill and then it's all beach. It was filthy (long hairs on bathroom floors, dust everywhere and visibly on furniture). My husband tried to surprise me with a night away with a friend at Rockaway Beach. Based on the pics in the advertisement I would have booked it as well...but it was not as described. Horrible night sleep as well with both bedroom windows right next to the highway and a food truck. My friend and I tried to just laugh about it and enjoy the night regardless, but will never stay here again. Had potential, but literally looked like they tried to buy a few new decorations to cover the fact that this place needs some major TLC before it's ready to have guests again.

The linen for the hyda bed was thrown into the cabinet and not folded. Your dishes were not clean as well. One of your plates had shards of glass on it. Again...not GOOD! We love, love, love Rockaway Beach, Oregon…read more No, it's not because of Pronto Pup. We'll, for me, Pronto Pup is more of an obsession than a cool place. It's borderline addi..... you know what! "Don't worry about me." I digress. We like Silver Sands Motel. For one, we can afford it. 2. The view. Good golly He does good work. It's nice to be able to walk to the ocean from your room. It's the main draw for us. We've ironically gotten the same room both times we stayed here. If you get a bottom room, bring a window lock of your own so you can sleep with the window cracked open. Nothing like ocean sounds to help you sleep like a baby. Maybe some day we'll stay on the second floor. I hear the view is even better but no balcony to sit on. The rooms could use a little update but that would also mean an increase in consumer costs. I never go anywhere because of the hotel room. It's always about what's outside of this place. Silver Sands is still nice. It's not shabby by any measue. Besides, all the cool stuff in Rockaway Beach isn't in your hotel room, no matter how much you paid.

If all you need is a reasonably priced stay, then by all means, this hotel may suit you just fine. Unfortunately the main reason I booked this hotel was because we came to the beach to get out of the sweltering heat wave that's happening and after a long day I just wanted to cool off. Once we checked in we realized they have no AC in the rooms here. It was sweltering. We sat there sweating for the first hour before I decided to take a shower to try and cool off. There were also bugs everywhere in the room. Like, a lot of bugs, dozens. When I walked into the bathroom, I found more bugs and a strange burn on the counter top. I also found hair in the tub so I pushed back the curtain and washed it out myself and as I was getting undressed to get in, just to feel some cool water on my body, a man walked down the stairs outside and said "oh shit!" I looked and he could see down into the bathroom through the window. It was horrifying. Then, while showering asked husband why he hung a dirty washcloth over the shower rod and what it was from. He came in to ask what I was talking about and when I showed it to him, he said he had not been in the bathroom yet. It was dry and obviously left from the last person, with brown and yellow spots on it. I was so disgusted, I literally threw up. Later, I tried to enjoy the ocean views and breeze in between killing bugs but the smoke from the bonfires was so strong that we could not keep our windows open. Our room filled with smoke smell and we had to try and open the front door to get it out. Wen went out to our car and brought in two small portable fans we had because there was no ac or fan in the room to try and get the smell out but it was to no avail and since I could not sleep, I can confirm that there were still people with bonfires lit on the beach at 2 a.m. Even when we checked out in the morning you could still smell the smoke so if you want the fresh ocean breeze, visit another beach. Speaking of check out, it is at 11 am here. Usually we like to sleep in and enjoy the room but by 8, I was dressed and ready to go. Unfortunately my husband was a bit slower and at 9:50 am the housekeeper entered our room without even knocking. She stepped inside and said "Oh, sorry." Luckily we were dressed and our dog was asleep but that is utterly wrong and intrusive. What if we had been undressed? Not to mention that its not a very smart thing to do with dog friendly rooms. Not all the dogs are tiny cuties like ours. And while I am on the subject of dogs, there were two women in room just down from us who kept letting their two dogs (brown dachshund and grey greyhound) out off leash; they were barking and defecating all over. At one point one of their dogs came up to our glass door and started barking at our dog inside our room. It was ridiculous. We had out door and window shut from the smoke but it still upset our pup. They were bothering other dog rooms as well. These women are why it's so difficult to find dog friendly accommodations. There were other issues as well. Some of the outlets in the room did not work and the internet was so slow I could not even load webpages at times. They have old fashioned keys for the back door and they want to charge you if you don't return it, which makes sense, but they also want to charge you if you don't return the plastic key card for the front door when you check out. There is no pool, no hot tub, no breakfast... Never again.
