Significant defects, including orange discoloration, remain despite repeated attempts at resolution. The contractor repeatedly claimed the discoloration would "fade" with time, but instead the problem has only worsened, leaving the walkway visibly stained. I documented this with dated photos and raised it directly with the owner, but rather than resolving the multiple issues, the owner responded to my concerns with emails such as: - "You are an hard person to satisfy and it making me regretting ever meeting you." - "What is wrong with you? ... You do not dictate my schedule." - "You want to create an issue only to satisfy yourself." - "I can't believe I ran into someone similar to each other in the same month." - And, unrelated to the job: "Are you single?" I raised workmanship issues, and the response was hostility and inappropriate personal comments. This reinforces my overall experience: poor workmanship, unresolved defects, and unprofessional behavior. Further documentation is available if needed. I have requested a refund so I can hire another contractor to correct the issues, and this review will be updated as warranted or based on the outcome.

I got in touch with the owner, Wayne, and had a very lovely conversation with him when he came to the house to discuss the project. An extension of our back deck. He explained what would be necessary and give several suggestions of slight alterations to what it was I had described. His ideas were very sensible and still fell Within the budget we hoped to maintain. The project was handled in less than 5 days by Wayne himself and one of his team members, both very polite people and easy to work with. As you can see from the photos I posted, they did a great job and it's amazing how something as small as a 4 foot extension, makes it feel like we have doubled the space. Before leaving on the final day, I mentioned another project we were considering doing and Wayne was more than happy to take a quick look and let me know whether or not it was a project he could take on for future discussion. Since this was, in construction terms, a fairly simple project I didn't have reason to meet more than Wayne and his team member. However, since Wayne is the owner of the business, it gives me great confidence that the rest of the people he works with are of equal caliber. We are very much looking forward to working with him again in the future and our kids are already taking the time to appreciate his work, despite the fact that both of them are under the age of 3 right now.

They were polite, helpful, flexible, did great work and were finished in a solid month. Honestly, there was nothing negative about my experience whatsoever. Allow me to describe my situation in hopes that someone in a similar circumstance might benefit; Like a lot of tiny house enthusiasts, I began the journey three years ago with every intention of building it myself. As time progressed, however, I had various setbacks stemming from finances, a personal injury, and trouble finding a location where I could build long-term. On top of all this, there was always the challenging Maine winter to contend with (leaving one with a limited window within which to build). Furthermore, while I was disappointed at the prospect of not building it myself, I also had a lot of concerns about the house's structural soundness and safety if I were to attempt the build on my own. I finally reached out to THOM with an unusual proposal; could they build a tiny house according to MY OWN plans (which had been already professionally drafted), build JUST the subfloor, walls and roof, and do so on a tiny house trailer which I had also purchased previously? Somewhat astonishingly, Ted said he'd consider it. After looking over the plans and advising a revision which would allow for an egress window, he was all in. They even constructed a beautifully modern roof which wasn't in the plans at all! They were very precise with the invoice, adjusted it promptly when I reversed my initial desire for a rear "bump out" as well as when I really wanted a more expensive flat seam metal roof than I originally planned. They assisted me with arranging transport for the trailer to their location as well as back home, they sent pictures with their progress, worked quickly, did a sensational job and were available for follow-up questions after completion! I shudder to think both how close I came to giving up on my tiny house dream as well as how easily I could've contacted any number of other inferior builders instead of Ted, Lucas, and the crew at THOM!! (Also the politest guys you're ever gonna meet.) Call them!!!
