We hired Bill to work on our deck and make it more secure. It was never bolted to the house when it was built and it started shifting away from the house and becoming unstable. Before starting the job he came to the house and did a thorough look-over of the deck and took notes. The next day I had another contractor come by to give me a second estimate for comparison. They barely looked at it, didn't mention all the things that Bill pointed out, told me they couldn't do it until 3 weeks later, then said it would cost twice as much as Bill's quote. Needless to say, we went with Bill. He started the job quickly and wrapped it up even quicker. When he was done he even quoted us on painting the entire deck, which we took him up on because painting a deck is a major pain in the ass. He completed the painting in about 2 weeks (due to weather and holidays) and it came out great. The deck required 3 coats due to the dark stain that was originally on it, but Bill didn't change the cost of the job or complain. Where to start?! Last year I contacted Mac of all trades to do a deck roof repair. They came...gave me an estimate.of 500.00...to do minor repair to stop the roof from leaking. After it was done...the roof leaked worse than before...they were notified and eventually came back and said...oh...they forgot to use the silicon deal on the seams...they came back and supposedly did the silicon sealing... Next rain...still leaking...and continues to leak... definitely worse than before their attempt to fix it. Here's the main problem...I contacted them...told them I needed them to return and fix the problem as I wanted to paint the deck...and now...the water is much worse and I can't paint it until the leaks are properly repaired.....no callback after a bit of time.callex again...no answers...left messages several times......nothing. Finally wrote them s letter which I still have a copy of....nothing...no response...ever...called once more...nothing. Weather turned to winter and I left it go...now out 500.00 dollars and my roof is leaking horribly. I just experienced another rainy day ...horrible leaking going on still but am totally fearful of hiring someone again for fear of being ripped off once again. These guys are aweful..im retired woman alone and I trusted them to take my money and do the job. I don't like complaining but my daughter's are angry now that I've told them why we can't sit on the deck when it rains as we did before these people made a small leak turn into a huge disaster...then totally refuse to get back to me when I tried to contact them over and over again....I lost 500.00... Horrible people...they sure are as unprofessional ad they come...I would never ever recommend them. It's one thing to make a mistake and fix it....quite another thing to take your money and make a major mistake and never acknowledge it by totally ignoring you. We hired Bill as a handyman/ general contractor in our home to fix a few things and put together products that were just delivered. The word handyman is a understatement. He showed up on time and was prepared with every tool he needed. He was able to solve issues of things broken without coasting us a ton of money to replace items entirely. I continued to give him more things to fix or put together and he never complained. Bill appears to be a jack of all trades and we are looking forward to hiring him again to finish our attic. read more

Can't say enough good things about this guy and his business/trade acumen. I can't count how many other handymen I've called with a brief description of what I needed and MAC called back next day seeking a little more information and times suitable for both of us to come by and have a look, my situation included and janky sliding door. The next day he had some time available and stopped to have a look and was casual yet maintained an appropriate level of professionalism. Took a look and quickly assessed two possible solutions. He gave me a best case and worse case estimate of price damage, both of which I felt were pretty reasonable and he also answered my slew of questions without any inclination of aggravation which I appreciated, since I was trying to learn as well as understand how to fix it in the future, I felt that he knew it but he yielded the information anyway which led me to want to hire him more, since honestly is very important and he certainly explained the issue in a way that wasn't technical and in a way that layman types like myself can understand. At the end of it all, my sliding door was fixed an hour after he stopped by to look at it and give an estimate and now I have a go to MAC of all trades saved in my phone. Highly reccomed. read more

We just don't get it. This guy has a few great reviews, however, we tried calling him yesterday, only to get voice mail, left a message for him to call us back. 24 hours later, no reply back. For two years while I was at UNH, I lived in a fraternity house. As you can imagine, this house took a mean beating, especially with holes being punched and kicked in the walls. At the time, I was the president of the chapter and we needed all the holes patched up and fixed before an upcoming alumni event. This was not simple patchwork. Several holes (more like wall craters) needed new drywall and a fresh paint job. You would think a house full of 20-something year old guys could get this done, but we were useless. I heard about Bill and gave him a call thinking he wouldn't take us seriously because we were just a bunch of "frat guys." I was wrong about that. I explained the damage and the job was small enough (for him) that he popped up to Durham and had the walls looking new in just a couple hours.
