We were later told "whoops we forgot to mention it" and "it's their minimum fee." If there's a $300 minimum charge for a stupid simple job customers should be told upfront. You can decide if you want to do business with a company like this

American Mechanical & Plumbing was recommended by someone on a local community Facebook page so I contacted him by phone. He was very easy to talk to and he confirmed my suspicions about the old well line being no good. He recommended trying to lay a temporary poly line above ground but given the distance and grade it just wouldn't work but it wasn't from lack of trying. Jeff and his partner tried for a few hours with no luck and then only charged us for the fittings. Fast forward a week and we had another great guy doing all the excavation and he and Jeff linked up and came up with a plan to get water back on. Excavation guy did his thing and then this morning (July 12th) he showed up and had everything connected and water flowing in two hours. He came up with the idea to ditch our old shallow well jet pump and put a pump in the well with a 20 gallon pressure tank in our basement. What an upgrade. We really can't recommend him enough. They helped to trouble shoot and fix 7 issues throughout my 3 apartments about 4 hours. A 2 person crew cost $100 per hour, but I didn't mind because they were efficient with their time and polite with my tenants. They even helped us get a coupe things up to code that we weren't aware of. I'd recommend them and use them again.

We then had to cut a hole for Elijah to check the unit pipes behind the wall. He then found he did not complete tightening the pipes to the unit. Last night I called for emergency service - and they have no tech available. Today, I called to get added on for a delivery and they could not accommodate that until Monday. It's going to be below zero and snowing all weekend. At that point, I cancelled my account. I don't see a reason to have one if they can't do anything for me as a customer when I need it. I'm not sure how they service customers in Southern Maine; as I live in Lewiston. However, it's clear to me they don't really want to service up here and should just stop offering it.

We hired him to paint the house, fix siding, and replace windows. Come to find out, the majority of the homes in our neighborhood all had the same structural rot issues as ours. Christer knew all about the rot issues that plagued the neighborhood. I became aware of the issues when the workers mentioned it to me. An honest human being would have warned us about the issues prior to starting the project. I agree with reviewer Paul C. that Christer's sales skills are effective but duplicitous. As with others, this was a "lesson learned" moment for me and my wife. 1) The paint job is terrible. Roughly, after two years, you can see the old paint job through the "new" paint job. A couple of spots were missed, which is totally understandable. However, I requested a "walk through" 3 times. Never got one. 2) The craftsmanship is inconsistent--some spots are good, whereas other are mediocre and sloppy. 3) Unprofessional: precautions were not taken to avoid dirt and such being tracked into the house. Moreover, work done in a bedroom involving dry wall never included covering up the bedroom furniture! It never occurred to them that dry wall dust was all over a child's bedding, clothing, and toys!! The effort to clean-up the work done in and around the house was terrible and sloppy. After talking to many in our neighborhood, their experiences with other contractors were far more positive and successful than ours with Mattsson.
